I understand he was trying to get an office job....true story.

Looking forward to TW on Sunday

If we lose to Mexico, I think he will hang his boots up. If some how we do progress, he needs to sign for TW.

With Rowe gone, who is TW's left back atm?

it's odd how TW HQ have been so silent lately

they were awesome a few months ago with announcements of their player signings

Matt C mentioned that Cam Lindsay might play at the back, maybe that was right back though.

Justin Gulley or Tobias Bertsch must be in the mix although I can't remember seeing confirmation of their signings?

Melville have received a request for clearance of Andrew Blake to Team Wellington if that helps.

Is he a left back? It does help! I'm assuming WaiBop didn't want him,

Are these all also Nix FSE players? Not sure I've seen any announcements around FSE squad.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

You are right not much on FSE - but I believe and may be wrong but TW and FSE run seperate training schedules.  Work to many hours to drive around and check training grounds.

Wasn't Chelmsford City the UK club where those English guys implicated in the VFL betting scandal came from? Just wondering.

Nope, they came from a couple tiers below where Chelmsford play.

"Goalkeeper Joe Woolley, defenders Reiss Noel and David Obaze and midfielder Nick McKoy, who all recently played for teams in English non-leagues, each face eight charges - four counts of engaging in, and four counts of facilitating, conduct that corrupts a betting outcome.

Woolley, 23, and Noel, 24, were with AFC Hornchurch in the Isthmian League before moving to Southern Stars in July.

Ah, Hornchurch. Down the road a bit. Cheers.

you raise an interesting point jerzy.  i'm sure there are conspiracy theorists here, and i'm sure if they looked closely at the transfer activity at one particular asb prem franchise, they might think that they could possibly be a southern stars incident waiting to happen.

Do expand, Reg. Unless it's the same old stuff we've heard before on a diff thread.

With due respect to Adam, I thought they wanted to have guys that were going to focus more on playing football and not the man. Not the sort of player I would have thought would have been in the mix for Calcotts team

really?  i didn't know he was like this and had never noticed that about cowan before

i'd always thought he was a good footballer.  sometimes i even thought he was a bit apathetic

I would not classify him as a thug but he certainly does not negotiate on pulling out if the man happens to be there first. The thing with TW of the last couple of years under Calcott is that element (and I think Adam Birch is a typical player of that old time) is gone.

I don't think Adam C will get much time on the field. Seems like we have a pretty solid defensive set up without him.

Three Wellington lads starting. Gulley McPeake and Watson.

Three (historically) central midfielder in the back four. Doyle, Peverley and Lindsay.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Surprised to not see Bertsch playing, considering how close he came to being a Phoenix player.

Murphy preferred as the deep midfielder.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

TW fans - would appreciate a second opinion on Irving, as the person who has been talking him up this whole time I'd like to see what other people think of him.
