This thread's pretty quiet.  What's the goss?  Kinda hard for an out-of-towner to get any news on signings except what's in the media although I do see Mr Marshall has signed a bunch of Three Kings lads: Sam Mathews, Godwin Darkwa, Maksim Manko, Luiz Del Monte, Salesh Kumar, Dan Morgan.  Wonder how that will go?  Also, he's released youngsters Sean Lovemore and Ross Haviland who have transferred to Central Football Federation - Hawke's Bay I guess.

Mulligan is for sure I saw that in the media, and both Slefendofas and Coombes are also listed on the Auckland Transfers site:

AFF Transfers

I also heard Galbraith was in town and Dakota Lucas also.

some players expenses are beyond some teams budget. So not wanted is not always a true story

Interesting to see how he was unable to pick up a gig outside of NZ. I thought he did OK for the NZ under 20 (?) when he played there. And I remember reading an interview or two where he said he wanted to play overseas..

Exposure to A league there as well - with teams playing Roar pre season.

It 'works' for me, but very stop start. Need to drop quality for slower NZ connections maybe.

Roy Krishna should be player of the season in the ASB Premiership. Maybe it's time for him to play in the stronger league?

Think he got the usual quick once over at the Phoenix and then ignored. Personally I think he's a better player than Totori, but then a lot of Ricki's past choices have baffled me. Certainly think Krishna would score in the A League.

Krishna has been trialled at 3 clubs I believe. I agree that he is better than Totori but Roy is a bit more petulant. A lot of his cards are for lashing out. That stuff is a team killer.

In defence of both Krishna and Totori, I would make a fairly educated guess that a lot of island footballers are well known to A League teams - it's more whether they are up to standard. Totori being one of the better ones, has shown he is below the standard. Again that's not a hard and fast rule but at least a decent indicator. I also think Totori needs at least a season in that kind of environment to get his body and cardio up to A League standards. Whether that makes a difference in his second season, who knows.

Krishna has trialled twice at the Phoenix and been to North Queensland and on the radar of Newcastle.  He's also tried his luck in the States.

Meanwhile he's still playing in the ASB Premiership...

Fair enough, didn't realize he'd had so many chances.

Glad to see Ian Hogg has gone to Perth, hope he gets some game time for the Nix.

Must be a chance.  With Boyd and Fenton away with the U21s and only Stein to come back from the first choice squad you'd think he or Lindsay (or both) would come into matchday contention.

When you think how many average players were signed by the most of the Hyundai A League clubs  over the years, this boy definitely deserves a fair chance. Not a couple of trial games, but at least a year contract.

On that basis yes, but A League teams are not in the business of signing average players. No one ever said 'let's sign him cause he is average'. It's only after the fact when they get into the team and compete that they are found out to be average (and some coaches ideas on the ability of some players)

Like everyone I'm unsure how he'd perform at the next level, obviously not a world-beater, but Krishna > Totori. I know that doesn't mean much, but it probably just again shows how awful that signing was.

Well, I was there to witness and confirm:

Pitch was not up to the standards... Ref didn't like Auckland City... It was difficult to play on slippery surface... Waitakere players were lucky...LOL

I was thinking this Tegal so glad you got in. If they beat the champions of Africa, what does that make Waitakere then?

How does that work Ali? You guys are the best fans in the league. Surely being a player that played how many seasons for you guys would just love your lot wouldn't he? You guys wouldn't bait a former player that has played over 100 games for you would you?

No you guys are always innocent...

Well done Waitakere, a deserved win. Bale played in Defence until Arms came on, then went in the midfield, when Arms was sent off he went back into defence. I reckon he is better than boxall and if he has a nz passport would be a good squad member for the Nix. Krishna was class as usual. At beginning of the season he and De Vries were contemplating going to Auk but WU came through with an offer at the last minute. How different the season would have been then!

Andrew Milne was excellent for Auk City. I believe he is good competition for Hogg
