When posting chant ideas, I strongly encourage you to take the time to google/youtube search, find a video or audio file, and include a link to the song you are basing the suggestion on. That way, people who have never heard of, or are only vaguely familiar with the song you are talking about can have a listen. It really helps get people's head around your suggestion.

1. Copy [Ctrl + C] the url of the youtube.com (or other site) page that has the video.

2. In the message you are composing, highlight the text that you want to become the link.

3. Then click on the link icon (in the red rectangle in the screenshot below)

4. Click in the URL box (in the red rectangle in the screenshot below) and

5. paste [Ctrl + V] the URL you copied in step 1. and then

6. click the [INSERT] button.

Viola. The text you selected will now be a link.

Good thread Mr Flag.

I read the threat title and thought it said "how to post suggestive chants".

I hoped the correct answer was "with a video".

Actually I find that using the link icon doesn't work. Nothing appears in my post. If I use the Text box in the link icon, the link appears but isn't clickable.

The only way I can get a link to be clickable is to paste it directly into my message and press return.

However embed video seems to work properly.

The text field is what is displayed. That is why if you paste it there it is not clickable.

The url field SHOULD be the target that the link will take you to...

I am using Firefox and it works for me. Which browser are you using?

Actually, none of this is needed if you're posting a YouTube link. Just copy+paste the youtube link in, then press enter, and it'll automatically embed the YouTube video in your post.

That's how I put this video in, which is quite possibly the best chant of all time:

Except that doesn't work for me...

How come James Dean's link here didn't render as an embedded youtube video, it just shows as text...

... but then when I quoted it, here, it shows as an embedded video?

Because James Dean didn't push enter after adding the video. Whereas when you quoted it, an enter was put in after the video when the website inserted the [/quote] tag. If you post the video correctly it'll show up for everyone.
