Nice. A couple of suggested edits...

This sounded great yesterday. Only downside was that I had this Depeche Mode song stuck in my head for the rest of the night.

Done! Like the edit should try it at the back bencher before the game

Good idea. (one last edit above to make the last bit 4 syllables...)

Revisited the song and think it would be better to stick to the original lyrics:

You're in my heart, you're in my soul,
You'll be my breath should I grow old.
You are the Phoenix you're my best friend.
Your in my soul

Based on the old Everton Classic:

Its a Grand old team to play for,
Its a grand old team to see,
And if,
you know
your His-tory
Its enough to make your Heart go ohhhhh ohhhhh ohhh

We dont care what the Tards say
what the hell do we care
Cause we only know
that there is going to be a show
and the Phoenix will be there

For the team:

We're the Phoenix and we're flying up the league
We'll score goals goals goals
And we'll score them all with ease
We're the Phoenix let's put football on our map
So come on all you Aucklanders let's sing and shout and clap
Welnix clapclap clapclapclap
Phoenix clapclap clapclapclap

And for Timmy:

"Tim Brown, from the halfway line
Tim Brown, from the halfway line
Tim Brown, from the halfway line
Tim Brown, from the halfway line"

Done to the tune of the one we can't do.

"Phoenix till they lose"

Phew, for a minute there, I thought you were suggesting doing it to the tune of Go West. Fail.

Could focus a chant on the Order of the Phoenix (from harry potter)

I've always liked the sound (in my head) of Ricki Herbert and the Order of the Phoenix

For the Tards.

It's like rain on grand final day,
It's Harry Kewell, and how much he's paid,
It's Marcoo-oooo, and how little he's played,
And who woulda thought - it figures?

And then, as per the "River Plate" chorus part of River Plate's Sos Cagon

see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX-HP7V4aaw&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Irony, irony.
Irony, irony.
Irony, irony.
Irony, irony.

[Repeat from 'It's like rain...']

For GCU:

Fat Clive, Fat Clive
Whatcha gonna do
When the FFA
Takes the licence off you?

Ramming liberal dribble down your throat since 2009
This forum needs less angst and more Kate Bush threads

I propose this as a Phoenix Anthem.

As per the first verse of this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYebdgrvOo4&feature=related

We're standing on the edge of the field
All by ourselves
Cheering for the Nix
And no one else
'Cause you're the ones!
You're the only ones!

You're the only ones
That can fire us up and bring us down,
Scoring goals against the Heart
We're jumping all around.... (suggest we could all go F***ing Mental here, and jump all around)
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you're the only ones!
(two hands in the air salute)

[Repeat from the top]

You've linked a Transvision Vamp video. Father O'Reilly told me I'm not allowed to watch Transvision Vamp videos anymore. Wendy James causes sinful thoughts.

Christ on a bike. I saw them at Rock City in Nottingham. Wendy fed up with the constant calls to get her tits out informed the crowd that if she invited anyone on stage they'd be to scared and run off to the toliet and have wank. Cue about 20 blokes trying to climb the stage. Mayhem results - the Bouncers/roadies (it took both), are kept busy throwing people back in the crowd. Great memory

Then I saw his pace, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, Chris Greenacre!
I couldn't catch him if I tried.

Was bored at work tonight, and came up with this:

To the theme tune of The Flintstones

Danny, Danny Sanchez
He is the best Spaniard in the league
He came from a team in Scotland
And he will take us to victory

Not 100% about the last line tho.

With the chance to grow the crowds over the net 2 or 3 weekends I know the issue of song sheets has been discussed before, and i'm not even sure I like the idea myself, but:

The popularity of clap clap clap, shows people will get involved when they know whats going on.
We have to accept that not everyone in Yellow Fever, never mind the whole fanbase visits these forums.
And the acoustics (and complexity) of some of the chants means its hard to hear what they are from elsewhere in the stadium.

Perhaps a page of songs, linked to on the main menu up the top, next to podcasts/tv is a good compromise?

I do think that we need to start 'clap clap clap' a lot more during these two (possibly more) games to get the whole bumper crowd involved and making more noise than usual.

We should make a kapa haka video, and charge people $30 for exclusive fever zone access.

Allegedly
