Red Cards--Hit the Road Jack!!!
This is actually a basketball/baseball one.
Basically whenever a player gets ejected( The eqv. of a redcard) they give him a few lines from the Great Ray Charles' song: Hit The Road Jack:
(Chorus) Hit the Road jack, And don't ya come back, no more no more no more no more
Hit the road Jack, and don't you come back no
more.
(Jack) What you say?????
(repeat)
Everyone gives him the old slow wave goodbye as well, which
would look awesome since we're all by the exit.
I think while the "who are ya?" chant sounded good--we missed
a golden opportunity. Here we have Tony Popović, the
captain of the other side(!!!) getting sent off, and we just give
him the old Who are ya chant. I think that should be reserved for
when players from the other team come on the field and when random
players from the other team walk past.
anyway whay do ya reckon? only used for red cards.
Or
??????????
Maybe as a warmup to "WHO ARE YA" before the offender nears the
tunnel...but I can't see anything replacing WHO ARE YA
brilliant idea G-man - don't think the 'who are ya' is appropriate
either in the circumstance.

another good one might be the WW1 song 'goodby-ee' (chorus only)

Yeah It just seemed like an inappropriate sending off for the guy--this was their captain, and it could have been (should have been) the end of the game really, and all we gave him was the old 'who are ya' chant that we use about 10-15 times already in a game.
The good thing about my suggestion is that:
--everyone knows it
--it sounds cool we a crowd sing it and one or two loud mouths
() like me
do the "whacyusay??!!" bit
perhaps when the guy gets close to the the tunnel we really
turn the venom on him with 'who are ya' ?
Gman
Here's hoping we get a chance to let that one loose at the Adelaide
game!! would be even more fun if becks get sent off in the 57th
minute of the game on the 1st.

cheerio, cheerio, cheerio,
cheerio, cheerio cheerio o......
To the tune of "here we go...."
Now Nickel, I won't be there (for a month in Europe) with my
drum but I'm expecting you to put in a top performance in my
absence. There's a guy called Dan who will have the sacred drum.
I'm splashing out $230 on a hand held celtic bass-drum so that when
I get back we'll be the rhythm section of Yellow Fever. With my two
drums it should sound f---king awesome.
I'm having to do this because that fake brazillian drum band
only seem interested in getting on the TV before the game, rather
than leading the boys home, and getting the throats working--which
the the only reason you really need a drum at a football
game.
I don't know about you, but I thought having a it of
percussion made alot of people who otherwise wouldn't have chanted
going.
We are acutely aware that you run a fine line with drums
between being a focus point for chants and being annoying (see: the
Warriors drum team) I think our policy is only joiin in chants to
give them some more gas.
all the best,
Gman
Would that be a bodhran? I've always wanted to learn that haha
