A bit early perhaps, but are there any provisional plans for the Palmerston North game v Sydney?

Yellow Fever disco bus??

Yellow Fever disco train?

Are people staying over on the Saturday night for a few shandies?

What about when the train goes through the tunnels along the Kapiti Coast...

It will be on the radar then off the radar then on the radar then off the radar...

has anyone else ordered their tickets?  I did the other day and was told it would take a month or so to be sent out.  wonder how they work out seating...

If we have season tickets, do we still have to order a paper ticket for the two out of town games? I suppose we have to for seating.

Get up there early

Get on it

Go large

Stay the night

And at this stage I'm driving up I think......cos no word on bus or train.

Did you keep the letter that came with your season pass?  On it, it says tickets for the away home matches are available to request from Friday July 24th.

For the PN match the cut-off date for requesting tickets will be 5pm Thursday 10th December.

Hi Hardnews, um wondering, the plans you've got going, will it only be for a select few, in other words first in first served kinda deal?

I did see some dirt cheap fares on Intercity and Nakedbus but they will go quickly.

Motel already booked for 2 car loads. Worked out it would probably end up cheaper than trains and taxis to various destinations on the return leg if we split the bill. (Not true but that's how I sold it to Mrs Capes)capes2009-09-07 21:20:51

I'm slightly disappointed!

apparently the trick in Palmy, is to avoid saying "Wainui" when you book

the comment was 'aimed' at the nutty motel owner in Palmy who has 'banned ' folks from
Wainui, not at Wainui-ites

I'm not giving out valuable info like that, but I will say that when I was searching for a place to stay, the chance of kipping in Palmerston North's only plywood castle was too good an offer to refuse.

I'd happily go for the bus or the train, but being P-North I'm going to have some firm plans for return travel sorted out. The prospects of a stranding are somewhat terrifying.

err...and my mates always take the piss about heading to P-North for a shandy, so if any of you are keen...  Umm.  Yeah.

Are we going to organize some sort on convoy for the way up for those who are driving, or perhaps meeting a place for afternoon tea and scones?

I'd like to think that however we travel up, or if people stay there or not, we could make some good impressions en-route.

yep its in the works. but it will be done by a draw. 18+ only, and you have to be drinking in the BB and fourkings to enter. about 100 spots up for grabs between the two venues
