Am I? Not much of a one man team. Maybe I can convince the nix to let some of the Phoenix A player back me up!

Possibility of playing hungover too, depending how Friday night pans out.

I can play, but my fitness isn't really up to scratch. Wouldn't be much worse than a hungover tegal though!

I won't be hungover but i may set some sort of record post match for getting from pitch pub, even if I have to use a train.

Might have I <3 Nix on tow as well.

I'll show up if someone can ensure (how the f*** do you spell that g word that means the same thing) that I get to The Fox by a reasonable time.  My reasonable may be different to yours.  Drinking greater than Daylight greater than* injuring myself/watching you lot "play"** football

*freakin retarded and I have no idea which way the sign should go

**tbf I have no idea of anyone's ability ('cept Newsy)

End of an era.  Vinnie - It's over.

If anyone cares for my inane babbling follow @iluvnix17 on the Twitter.

I'm probably going up for the game, if the Aucklanders need a terrible import from Hamilton I might be available

 OK guys email me... tyson@webdrive.co.nz.

Have Nik (Yellow Fever Developer) hopefully hitting up (not on :P) Dale etc for some idea of numbers coming up :)

Nixon Park doesn't look too good without goals... so looking for another place. Also there's only a fence and some trees between the field and the motorway... don't think anyone fancies losing that many balls... I mean I believe in the ability that will be there :P

if we're really stuck for grounds we can use Te Atatu Peninsula Park with goals nets n flags, pain in the arse for those without cars though

Owairaka Domain, summit of Mt Albert, is 20 mins walk from Kiwitea St (and Dom Rd), 5 minutes walk from Mt Albert railway station and the buses of New NorthRd. I've just checked it out. Top of Summit Rd. The goalposts are up, the field is marked out and the changing sheds seemed open (tho as I was driving past I may be wrong about this last). It's a neat field, surrounded by trees and with views over the City for those not interested in playing/knackered from playing.

Eden Park is just back down Sandringham Rd/New Nth Rd.

How far is it from Foxes? Quite a few of us will be making a mad dash straight there after the game.

Don't know where Foxes is, sorry. Unless you mean The Fox, at the Viaduct? But as I say, it's just along Mt Albert Rd from Kiwitea St - 20 mins walking.

5 mins same in opposite direction from corner of New North Rd & Mt Albert Rd. Second or third st. on right on Mt Albert Rd is Summit Rd. top of Mt Albert.

Where else do you get to play among the trees atop an extinct volcano!

Best you play game before going to Kiwitea St then. Eden Pk from Kiwitea is a pretty short trip.

A 30/40 min walk.

Kiwitea St has a bar and a beer tent - probably cheaper than The Fox and you can support some NZ football.

Which is what you'll be doing a lot of watching the phoenix as The local Auckland derby will almost certainly be a better game... Although maybe less goals depending on how much The Gareth Morgan Phoenix get beaten by.

Suspect it will be great game.  Your patronising crap about 'supporting NZ football' however bores me to sleep.

I really really tire of this. We all know you love Auckland City, that's fine. We all know you love the NZFC and despise the A-League, that is also fine.
I did think however that this is a website that is designed for "supporters of Wellington Phoenix FC". While people who come to the Forums have many differing views,  often considered to be negative, they do support the Wellington Phoenix.
Fair enough, come here and comment,  but really, your constant sniping at all things A League is really rather tiresome.
Why not go and establish your own website where you can happily type all the crappy, snide and petty comments you like about the A League, The Wellington Phoenix and generally all things not associated with ACFC

Aren't these guys constantly breaking rule 7 whenever they do this? Warnings followed by ban sticks may need to start being enforced, as they are being done so now with other members. I don't think these guys should be immune to it.

Tell me in what way I'm disrespecting someone any more than they are me? Just suggesting that it would be great if some of youz fullaz came to Kiwitea St instead of the Fox - could maybe get up to 3000 there instead of the usual 2K for the derby games.

Slagging players and the team off (I meant rule 4, not 7. apologies). You do it all the time. In fact it seems to be the primary reason you have an account on here is to make snide remarks about the team. It is tiresome. And I'm also suggesting it is against forum rules.

If you actually read the thread you will see that a number of us are actually planning to come and watch the match at Kiwitea Street. That is why the kick around is hopefully being organised near Kiwitea Street. It was even laughingly suggested that it be played as a curtain raiser to your game at some point.

The point regarding disrespecting is that you are constantly disrespecting the team we support. I short, I would not come to your house and shit on the lounge floor. Would kind of expect the same courtesy in return.

That's not my problem.  My problem is the assertion that because you support the Phoenix you don't support New Zealand football which has holes in it big enough to drive my former self through.

1. It completely ignores the large number of people here who drive Wellington football, which last time I checked is New Zealand football.

2. It makes the side full of imports at City sound more like NZ football than the side full of kiwi's at the Phoenix.

3. Pretty much all of Team Wellington's fan base are here on these forums.

These are the points that first had them christened as the knitting circle.  Some have had bans, others have thought they were banned but in fact weren't.  Some have been told to pull their heads in by the club.

Try and avoid poking sticks on the City boards please.

All THREE games could be great! Time we all pulled together, guys. We're all on planet football even as some of us are staring into black holes while others are dancing to the music of the spheres. JM 25/01/13

Yeah guys... settle down on here and leave it for the pitch :P

OK Owairaka domain sounds perfect :) Close to Kiwitea street, and also it shouldn't be too much of a walk to Eden Park... either that or we walk back to the train station and go from there.

Did they happen to have nets up? Otherwise I'll talk to my club about borrowing some :)

Let's have a great day of Football! :) I'll likely be driving... so should be able to do transport runs before drinking too much :P 4 at a time :)

No nets. No flags. Just markings and goalposts. Pitch is dry as! Like my front lawn!

PS Also no trains, apparently. However, many buses  - from Downtown (the Fox nearby) up Sandringham Rd. or New North Rd best.

Have you considered Bill McKinley? Astro turf, marking, nets, goals.

Only draw back is that it's a bit far being in Mt Wellington. Sean Douglas' old man Bob lives on site and runs it I think too so might pay to hit him up. He might charge $50 for an hour, but might also open the sheds for the showers. If you get 20pax, only $3 each...

Owairaka Domain sounds good, within walking distance of Kiwitea by the looks of Google Maps. I guess we'll just have to see how many turn up before we decide on teams etc, but the more the merrier! I think it would be wise to lock in the venue ASAP so we can let more people know about it.
