The career of the most promising young footballer in Britain has been ruined by yet another boorish thuggish centre half with sh*t for brains.

Rambo, i still love you anyway bro.

There's only one Ryan Shawcross, as they sang...

Everyone looked horrified, even Shawcross, to be fair. But I didn't see any replays.

Thankfully i didn't hear that, otherwise i probably would of punched the tv.

Yeah. Well, I think that I heard that. And the Arsenal fans were booing it. Meh. May want to double check with another gooner before you get all anti-Stoke!

there's a pic in it, you can see how bad it is. Clean snap of the lower leg. Not cool.

Unfortunatley i was watching it on the big screen at work. I nearly hurled when i saw the way his lower leg was hanging limply from his knee, twisted at some strange angle. I spent the rest of the game pacing as i was to wound up to sit still.

You knew it was awful and a red card because of how all the players were reacting.

I can't wait for all the 'well hard' types to come in here defending Shawcross and calling Ramsey a fairy.

Truly pathetic.

I haven't seen any comments from Tony Pulis yet. I sure as hell hope he doesn't try and defend Shawcross's actions.
It wasn't a c**ting tackle like Taylor on Eduardo, but it was reckless and dangerous nonetheless

it says on youtube hes dead, surely they must be overeacting, Shawcross was stretching (and yes dangerousand recklace)but the broken ankle was obviously not intended. tomrewi2010-02-28 09:44:23

Pulis is, as we say in West Auckland (maybe elsewhere, too), a GC.

I doubt many people will do that, tbf. It wasn't as if Shawcross stood over him and said some sick comment a la Keane. And it was obviously a nasty injury.

Imagine if this happened to Rooney too if you will, in World Cup year no less. Shawcross would be placed in Witness Protection.

I'm very very angry at the moment.

Understandably. Yeah, you can always use the "Imagine if it happened to Rooney" comment...

God I hope Colin Lewin does as good a job as Gary did with eduardo. I still remember Eduardo saying, if Gary hadn't done such a good job, his leg would've had to have been amputated.

Shawcross still should have been picked for the England squad. Hes been terrific all season but for this one stupid tackle. Think its a tad over the top saying hes a thug as he has no previous record of performing tackles like this and he didnt set out to break the youngsters ankle. Plus he showed how much he cared with his own reaction. Its just one of those horrible injuries that happen every season and Ramsey was the unlucky bloke.

Yeah they never mean to break the leg until they do it. Heard it all before.

Get well soon Aaron Ramsey.

The guy walked of the pitch crying ffs.

This is further evidence every English player goes out there to break Arsenal player's legs.

Injuries happen, this is sport. You know perfectly well if it wasn't an Arse player you'd be saying "get over it"

So Michael is the first mong to enter the thread. Any others want to join him? I heard Jose's Dog is gagging to say something on the matter.

If it had been Roy Keane doing the tackle he would have told Ramsey to get up! I dont think it was an deliberate attempt to break the guys leg. I'm sure he must be devastated inside that this has happened. Ramsey hopefully will bounce back better.

Not a nice situation for any player to be involved in but true, it is  a part of the game.

They were saying on Sky News that they didn't want to replay the tackle during the match because it was too "graphic".

There was no contempt from Shawcross. This stuff happens. You're just jumping at the chance to have a dig at an English Footballer.

And if it was Rooney - you'd be laughing.Michael2010-02-28 11:54:41

And you have zero sympathy for a young footballer whose career may well of been permanently derailed. I'm not surprised though, it's no coincidence a United fan would come out with this rubbish after Rambo turned down United in favour of working under Wenger at Arsenal.

The Rooney comment proves how idiotic you really are. I suffered from a horrible broken leg in 08 which put me out for over half a year so i know exactly what it feels like and it's terrible. In no way would i be laughing at Rooney.

I never said I have zero sympathy for him. The point of my post is that your posts are trying to make out Shawcross for some evil villain who runs around hurting everyone and doesn't even give a sh*t.

Oh, and if you think I really give a toss that Ramsey went to Arse over United, you need to think again. And if you think that means I'm going to wish Broken legs upon him, you also need to think again.

What a load of bullsh*t.

You're defending him for that horrific tackle. That's what you're doing.

Similarly like i said before if Shawcross did that to Rooney both United and England fans would be baying for his blood and he would need to go into hiding.

I'm not defending tackles like that. I'm defending calling him a thug and wishing for his death. You've blown it so far out of context with irrational claims its not funny.

But since you're on the topic of other fans, if Shawcross did that to, lets say Adebayor, Arsenal fans would label him a hero.Michael2010-02-28 12:11:27
