haha, funny thing is - For the first time EVER in our whole existence, on Tuesday night we had the Reading home fans singing "Where were you when you were shark!"..

That is something I never expected to be sung at us.

Good luck to the Cheeries but FFS have absolutely nothing to do with Harry Redflopp. He will not only drag you straight back down but bankrupt you at the same time. See: Portsmouth FC, QPR FC for references.

Haha, We've been there with 'Arry. Took us to the 'old' Division 2 back in the 80's... Funny enough, in the mid 90's it was revealed that there were a lot of financial irregularities during the 80's....

Still, he's a local boy (Lived in Bmth for years) and still supports the club but think the day's of him being involved are behind us!

They're up! From administration and survival in League Two to the Premier League in 5 years. My Grandparents live there too.

Eddie Howe definitely nailed on to be the next Hotspurts manager.

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

I am surprised Harry Redknapp's name hasn't  been mentioned. For the spuds job, he's already been mentioned for the board at the cheeries.

Only about five countries in the world that would suit your form of communism. China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea and Vietnam. Bet you would not swap your comfortable life in Christchurch for any of these places.

Crazy days and will take a long time to sink in. After all we have been through, incredible to see where we have got.

It seems only yesterday that I was chucking money in a bucket to help keep the club going for another week...

Think I read somewhere it is a 12,000 seater. It'll be quite cool seeing a club like them in the EPL these days. You'd hope they can add extra seating so they can cash in on the bandwagoners!

Yeah officially it is 12,000 but with the seat segregation required for the away fans it takes it to around 11,500.

Next season we will also lose some seating for the additional TV Camera positions PLUS will lose seats to increased media.

Actually don't think we'll look to increase at this point though for a few reasons:

1) The Chairman has hinted at seeing how we go next season and then increase - ie, doesn't want to commit to increase only for us to go down and end up in a stadium with empty seats.

2) If we increase the overall attendance, then the away allocation would also have to increase which means we would need to put the away fans in the stand behind the goal (At the moment they are in a corner of a side stand). The manager and team would rather both ends stay as home supporter zones. In the Premier League you have to guarantee 10% of your attendance (up to 3,000) is for away fans. So the increase may not make sense if means we lose both ends for our fans.

3) Currently, the 4th end behind one goal is a temporary scaffold stand as when we built the stadium 10 years ago we could only afford 3 sides. The cost to build a fourth stand would be high but I think they will gauge the interest over the next season before deciding what to do with it.

Posted in the Arsenal thread, but as well as being promoted to the top flight for the first time, AFC Bournemouth will also start the season top of the table by virtue of the alphabet. First time in 100 years Arsenal don't start the season top of the top flight.

Bring back terracing and the Cheeries could fit in a few more. Hmmm a jersey might be in order too, can you come back with some prices? 3 or 4 XL for me, I prefer loose fitting tops.

Their full name is AFC Bournemouth unlike Arsenal whose whose full name is Arsenal Football Club. AFC Wimbledon is also a full name.

Will let you know when the Premier League shirts are available to buy (Still can't believe I am saying that) but the shirts are normally £40 so would be around $80 plus postage.

If you're interested, I wrote a story about the rise of AFC Bournemouth, and of being a fan back in the bleaker days which you can read here:

It's been one hell of a ride!

I would easily have Eddie Howe as my League Manager of the year.

Koeman and Pardew have done well, but Eddie Howe has just been outstanding all year in a massive dogfight at the top of the Championship.

Hi guys

The season is nearly upon us and the new jerseys have been announced and I know some of you (energy.247 / Yakcall / Lonegunman) were keen on getting one!

They go on sale on the 5th August and the price is likely to be around $100. I will confirm exact amount and give the option of including the premier league badge on the sleeve as well as whether you wanted to add name and number to the back (the home shirt has the black panel on the back so some people prefer to add a name/number).

If you are keen then drop me a message and your details here https://sfjbarker.wordpress.com/contact/ and I can liaise with you through email.

I will be able to have a family member go and buy them at the club store and then post in one packet as will be cheaper than ordering online and getting delivered to NZ.

Cheers!

Good man, got your email so will be in touch soon.

In other news, tomorrow it looks like we announce Max Gradel as our new signing.

He was with us on loan in 2007 and is a quality player.

Scored 17 goals in the top French League last season, just two goals behind Ibrahimovic.

Yep, often think how different the experience would be if the Nix had a 12,000 seater.

Having spent years in a ground of that size with Bmth, I know how much improved the atmosphere is when you have good numbers there.

Although I have also experienced the not so good times where there would only be 3,500 of us...

Oh and the far end stand is temporary and made out of scaffolding!
