Mourinho?
He was a whinging tw@t at Bolton and he was a whinging tw@t at the
Toon. It's good to see the back of him. Now we won't have to put up
with another string of excuses why it was someone else's fault that
his team had lost another game. I still can't believe that he was
ever considered for the England job.
poor guy newcastle didnt give him half a chance
Welcome back "sexy football" NUFC.
king kev is back for another 3.5 years. I think that it's a big
one, considering that he left football management after Man City in
2005 being a bit disappointed with football. However he left the
door open then and he is like 59 or 60 years old and has the
passion. the question is whether Alan Shearer is tempted to be
number #2 to learn off King Kev. Kevlin Keegan was their last
reasonable manager with decent football.
Allardyce leaves Newcastle
Fat Sam quote....

Sources close to Alan Shearer have confirmed to the BBC this
evening that he is extremely unlikely to be the next manager of
Newcastle.
Shearer says he is currently very happy with his job on Match of the Day.
The former England captain, who played for the Magpies for nearly 10 years and ended his career at St James' Park, had been strongly linked with the post.
Newcastle are beginning the hunt for their seventh manager in 11 years after the departure of Sam Allardyce.

The Newcastle job is suicide!

On January 9th 2008, Mourinho was appointed Newcastle United manager a matter of hours after the departure of Sam Allardyce. It was announced that he would take up the post following Newcastle's Premier League match with Manchester United on Saturday 12th January.

From wikipedia lol.
I'd be more than surprised if Mr Mourinho went anywhere near the
Newcastle job.
The wikipedia entry has (unsurprisingly) subsequently been
edited.
An overzealous fan's wishful thinking it would appear.

WOW, the Newcastle board really gave him a chance didn't they? Half
a season!! Almost as bad as us with John Gregory, Gary Waddock, Ian
Holloway and Luigi de Canio all within 2 years.

Newcastle United will never be a decent
football club until they appoint Alan Shearer as manager.
Admittedly, Shearer
wont be any good.
Certainly, he will take them into worse trouble than they are in
already. But until Newcastle have gone through the Shearer
experience, they wont
be able to do anything.
The reason that Sam Allardyce has been having such a difficult time as manager at St James Park is not that the job is beyond his abilities. It is because the job is beyond anybodys abilities. Nobody who takes it on can live with Shearers record.
Shearers record is perfect. He has never lost a match as a manager. True, he has never contested one. But he scored a lot of goals as a player, speaks the language, is a jolly good chap, and who needs experience anyway? Everything will be all right as soon as he is given the job. Or to be more accurate, nothing will be right until he has tried and failed, because his existence makes the job untenable for everyone else.
Newcastle are living in the future rather than the past and that is an even more debilitating way to live. It involves a belief that everything will be all right some day soon, which means that we dont have to bother with the problems we have now. Soon they will magically disappear. It is like expecting a legacy, or the Lone Ranger.
Newcastle have become footballs Bleak House: a club forever wishing their life away in the belief that a favourable judgment will somehow reverse everybodys fortune and make everything worthwhile. This is a club that pride themselves on a great past and look forward to a golden future. Jam yesterday, jam tomorrow, but never jam today. They are dying of messiahitis.

Could the players be partially to blame for the fact they
lost? Why is it that when a team loses a few games teh manager
always gets the chop? (well in england anyway). i don't get it,
he's only giving the directions not playing the game.
He'll probably be the next Liverpool manager when Raf gets the
boot.
And then everton can thrash them in the derby
poor guy newcastle didnt give him half a chance
Strange time to can your manager, in the middle of the transfer
window. Doesn't leave the new man a lot of time to make any
sigings.
Newcastle live in a world of delusion. They foolishly believe that
they are a big club and should have big club results. They have won
stuff all in living memory.
They need to look at Everton to see the way forward. Everton were a big club but lost their way and got left behind. But they then appointed Moyes and stuck with him. He has gradually built the team (and therefore the club) to a stable and improving point. They make reasonable signings without bankrupting the club. The signing have a purpose as part of a long term plan. Moyes has worked first to build security and a fighting spirit and now is developing a fast and effective football style. They allow young players to work through to first team. The Board at Everton are to be congratulated. There were several times they could have panicked and sacked Moyes.
Newcastle however look always for quick instant fixes. Thier player recruitment stinks and never seems to follow a long term plan.

Agreed!
Bloody typical of a premiership club like newcastle - blame
anyone except the millionaires on the pitch!
Martin jol is free for a team. As long as he isn't cramped by any
ego administrators or crappy chief scout manager that overrules him
and get players that he doesn't want, he is ideal. He can deliver
with the type of team that the toon has on the line up.
I think sam boy might be incorporated into the england team staff very soon.
