Sharkty result but we never offered much. I’d be surprised if our xG was more than 0.5. We will play different at home which is good because we have too!
On their goal, kinda don’t mind be beaten by a stunner. Makes it easier to watch the replay.

I usually agree, but when every corner results in them hitting the floor and every promising attack involves a cynical foul that doesn't result in a card, it's hard to get in positions to take a shot, let alone get the shot on target.
Buffon II
We need to worry about getting shots on target more than refs tbh. Not comfortable shifting blame to the officials when we were seriously below par.

Newcastle really struggling in the first 20.
Dominant from us, great corner from saka, gabriel with the header, keeper makes a brilliant save but his defenders panic and bump it across the line.
Ball hasn't really gotten into our half.

Newcastle are looking dire. I haven’t seen this many turnovers in your own back third in years. I don’t want to get ahead of myself though as I still get flashbacks to that game where we were 4-0 up at the break and drew 4-4. From memory we were lucky not to lose.

I’m keener to play Sheffield. They’re in disarray and some of their players had a shoving match this morning. Reminded me of that Newcastle game with Dyer and Bowyer.

Hopefully we can put the Sheffield game to bed by half time and bring on a bunch of substitutes so players like Saka can have a rest.

Liverpool and Man City play each other the round after next.
We've got Sheffield and Brentford next.
We've now got the best goal diff in the top 3.
Should be 1st or 2nd two weeks from now, right before the big trip to Man City.

I’m fizzing, snagged tickets to Brentford in the ballot. The way they do tickets this season is a massive improvement for Red members.

Hey guys, just checking the rules here. Do the celebration police police themselves? After violations at Anfield for their 4-1 win over Luton (a come back from the ages, taking the lead in the 58th minute) and their last minute winner at Forest I'm hopeful they'll do the honourable thing and prostrate themselves at the mercy of those they rule over.

Martinelli tossed aside like a ragdoll in the buildup, somthing will have to be said about that afterwards.

This is wild. I know Sheffield are bottom of the table but this is so impressive.

Sub off some of our regulars at half time and give them a rest. Would love to see a few more Nketiah goals.

Let's go Gunners!

Remember last season when Gabriel Jesus was injured we looked a bit lost? After the World Cup we couldn't wait for him to come back to steady the ship up front. Great to see that it's no longer the case this season.

Looking at this it's clear that City away, Spurs away, and United away are the three standout fixtures that will probably dictate our season.

We took care of Spurs away last season but lost both Manchester fixtures, and it's a city we have struggled in for some time now. Fingers crossed 2024 is the year we change that.

That's a good visual. The way I read it is that it is Liverpools title to lose. After the city game, they really only have Villa as a team who could challenge them. But still plenty of football to play.

Given Liverpool have two points on us, I’m actually all in on a city win this weekend. It means we have to go to the Etihad and win, but if we can do that we deserve to be leading the pack in the run in.

On the schedule, we have a big gap from the 12th March (Porto) and 31st March (City). Some of that is the international window, but I’m hopeful that gives Arteta a great opportunity to keep working with the team and those injured more time to rehab. As good as last night was, Cedric was the only defender on the bench…

I didn’t realise City play Liverpool, then us, then Villa. I don’t envy that schedule. You’d hope they drop points but honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if they got 9 points from those 3.

Definately Livepool's to lose, but ew can influence that and they are struggling with injuries, so are we but I think to a leaser extent.

I'm more worried about injuries at this point...
It could go one of two ways, the extra time gets Zinchenko., Timber, and Tomiyasu fighting fit for the run in. Or critical players who always get international minutes (Saka, Odegaard, Rice) pick up an injury.
