Gotta feel a bit sorry for him. 13th place and 12 points from the last 7 games in a schedule with Man U and Spurs isn't sacking material I would have thought.

Obviously the new owners think they have taken over Blackburn circa 1995 rather than the present day one.

So much hate! Just curious, what exactly is your problem with him?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Wasn't arguing the rights or wrong, Buff. If you stopped being an angry youing man for couple of minutes you would have noticed that.

I bet Newcastle will be kicking themselves for not waiting a week or so and getting Sam in instead of Pardew.

Hang on a minute...

Yeah, what Buffy said. Just a sh*tehouse, tbh, and he sets his team up in exactly the same way.

As well as his strong dislike of Liverpool (not exactly the only one, I know, but some of his comments about Rafa, Stevie etc annoy me so much), his friendship with Mr Ferguson, plus he just has one of those faces that make you feel sick when you see it. I really can't stand him.

The new owners dont know anything about Football, they are getting advice from a Football management company, Kentaro. There was some meetings in India recently, and looked like Sam was going to get some money to spend finally, and the transfer targets looked at in recent days were ones he wanted.

Today, he got called up to the office, and got given the boot without warning.

You might not like the way his teams played, but you have to feel for the guy being fired without any hint it was comming.

Must have some big plan in mind to ruthlessly sack a manager who'd done well with no money they didn't even give him a chance in the January transfer window

it'll be interesting to see if the much-praised Coyle can achieve as much as Allardyce did with Bolton

He already has achieved as much. He's not only got them established in the top half this season, but he's got them playing good football, with technically adept players. Far more than Fat Sam and his dark age hoof ball clog the midfield scythe down the opposition shite.

Three for me, and two for them.

i agree buffy that Coyle is a good manager - and he may maintain his success - I hope so

but it has to be noted that Allardyce had his moments with J-J etc

Not really.
In terms of results, BFS got Bolton into top 10 in each of his last 4 seasons. Not pretty to watch admittedly, but Coyle has a wee way to go to match that results-wise.

So, let's see how the season pans out. It'll be interesting to see how he goes when things start going wrong. They will, and he was found wanting when things started going awry at Burnley. His after match excuses will be hilarious.

OK, off topic and I'm possibly a tad scarred by Mr Coyle.

On topic, maybe Burnley can offload Laws to Blackburn and create a win-win situation!

I know, I know, its serious!

Yeah, you're biased against him just because he left your beloved Burnley for bigger and better things.

Coyle is going to take Bolton to a level they haven't seen before. Give it time, it will happen/

Fixed.

Don't get me wrong. I liked Coyle's (football) style and what he did for Burnley was immense.

However, the jury is out on his stickability and ability to adapt when things go wrong. He failed to win in his last 9 matches in charge at Burnley.

Time will tell.

I know, I know, its serious!

Listening to Ryan Nelsen the other day was pretty eye opening.  I know that players wouldn't be consulted for this sort of decision, but you'd think they'd at least let them know once the decision was made!  That a club captain can only find out from a text message from a journo in New Zealand speaks volumes.

Interesting take on it, from the BBC site, by a guy who I suspect probably sees a bit more of Blackburn than most on here:

Many members of the press here are friendly with certain managers, so will always write articles that defend them no matter how they are doing, in much the same way certain managers will always get a rough ride.  These decisions are usually not based on anything to do with managerial ability, but willingness to play the game - give good soundbites, leak some transfer gossip, etc.

Yeah? You don't say. Things must have changed a lot since I lived in the UK.  (Insert sarcasm smiley here)

Having lived in the UK for most of my life I'm not naive enough to think that particular article was written from a completely unbiased perspective. However, as most of the criticism on here is also not written from anywhere near an unbiased perspective, I just thought it would give another side.

To be fair, it doesn't exactly paint Allardyce as a saint and a god amongst football mangers.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
