So it's been 38 years since the other 'pool (nor perennial strugglers but the mighty pool) graced the top league
Could this year be it?????
On a team of on loan players that were tipped for league 1 next year.....
Could be the best year since the anglo-italian cup triumph of '72

They stand a good chance after yesterday's result, but N. Forrest is a tough team to beat, especially at home ground. Interesting second leg.

Been following Nottingham Forest through the championship, hoping they take it. But whatever happens eh?
We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Have you seen the goal for Nottingham Forrest in this first leg against B'pool? Absolute cracker, perfect strike

No but a certain DJ Campbell does and today has scored a hatrick in yet another famous 4-3 victory....now just 1 game away from the premiership.
Must have been a cracker of a game to be at and shame we don't get the TV coverage....

Ah the Memories....
Standing in the Spion Kop watching the 'pool regularly knock 10 goals past Italian Opposition (well once).
First Division footy watching that other famous Stan (Bowles) when tha LOndon Glamour Boys,...errr.. QPR came to town.
Having a White, Brown & Green in the same side - just like Pot Black...
and now 90 minutes away (or 120 minutes plus penalties) from the EPL. Magic...

So it's Cardiff v Blackpool and DJ Campbell can play, the loan agreement only ruled him out if the opponents were Leicester.
BTW he likes to be called DJ as his given name is Dudley. I would too.
Cardiff or Blackpool in the Prem, who've thunk it? I'm just worried that either of them will sink as fast as they've risen, a la Burnley.

Phew Dudley can play.....and Charlie Adam avoided getting a yellow that would have seen him ruled out of final.
strange about not using the away goals rule in these play offs..thought it was fairly standard to do so..a quick search of the regulations didn't give any clarity..
suspect either team would be straight back down..but then Pool were tipped for relegation this season..so stranger things can happen.
Frankly would be happy for Blackpool to get a few wins, a big scalp and seeing them on highlights every week!

Like to see Blackpool for old times sake (not that i'm that old!) but I would have thought they could be a candidate for relegation with the least number of points next season.
They don't look to have a squad that could survive. Given they'll have a few additions, but the players they get are unlikely to be world beaters

I don't think anyone expected Wigan, Reading and Hull to survive their first season in the Prem either though. Would be good to see them come up.

Yes but Cardiff fans are sub human scum. Wrexham or Swansea would be alright.

Wrexham are a few hundred wins away from the premiership.
Cardiff have an element of fans, like Chelsea, West Ham, Leeds, Portsmouth, Arsenal, Burnley..........7th place Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspurs and Accrington Stanley do. These days they are no better or worse than most clubs.

Personally, I'd love to see Blackpool in the Premier League. Ian Holloway is a great character and has done a superb job there in a short space of time. The money would certainly rejuvenate the club after years in the wilderness.
The stadium now looks like it's taking shape too, and I'd rather see an English team than a Welsh-based team in the top flight. Personally I believe that if Scottish teams can't play in the Premier League then Welsh teams shouldn't be able to either. But that's another topic altogether...

Ian Holloway is a good Manager.Would be nice to see him make it to the EPL and see how he fares. Cardiff should be stuck back in the Welsh league, Perhaps a 3am false fire alarm call might be in order. Oh hang on, they've already done that. Perhaps whining about there should be no national anthem played before the final game, oh hang on, they've done that already too.
Cardiff seem to have spent a lot of time complaining about the English League yet they are happy to stay in it. There's no love lost for Cardiff in amongst Championship followers. It would have been nicer to have seen Swansea in the final. Paulo Sousa has done a great job on a small budjet there. Cardiff have spent fairly big on players like Michael Chopra whom must be on decent wages and others. They are in some severe debt and although they have a new ground, they are teetering on going into administration.
Cardiff have an element of racist fans that rival the Millwall, Stoke fans.
