A leading referees' charity has called for an inquiry into the touchline behaviour of managers after ugly scenes at several Premier League matches. "

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

All for it. I wish football had the approach that rugby or AFL used. Abusing refs is just the stupidest shark. Especially from well paid primadonas

Sometimes referees are their own worst enemies.

Must've been about 5 years ago the Premier League came out with a hardline statement that anyone who approached referees would be carded. I think I recall Rooney being made an example and carded on the first weekend. It was sort of a thing on the second. And by the third, since the referees weren't enforcing it consistently across the league, they'd stopped doing it.

same scenario as the carding for players diving! FIFA came out and said we wont tolerate it, referees will card for it, they never did and it continued. Even now, VAR doesnt rule on simulation specifically. It's not great the coaches and players abuse refs, but some refs and FIFA make it very difficult not to be upset with some of the decisions being made/or not.

I remember the diving. Eduardo got a retrospective ban for diving against Celtic in a champions league qualifier, it was absurd. I said I was totally fine with it if that's the standard from now on.
Surprise surprise, it wasn't. No one was retrospectively banned ever again.

I think that’s part of the flawed argument. Being upset doesn’t mean it’s ok to abuse someone. Players and coaches (and fans) need to grow up and learn how to control themselves.

As much as I disliked him in the A league Jarrod Gillet has been far and away the most prominent Aussie in the EPL before Ange arrived. Doing much better than their current generation of players.

And just as I say he’s confidently given Chelsea a penalty there! As remembered in the A league…
