Havertz and Warner are terrible atm.   I wonder know Warner is being played out of position but still, he has no confidence atm.  missing sitters, and looking average.  At the start of the season he couldn't score but at least he was creating things and looked good.

Havertz i think the Corona did him hard....  Took me months to recover and i wonder if he is still feeling the effects.  We know he is a good player but as of late he is the worst player on the pitch and making us a much worse team.  He is trying hard to get involved which i rate but nothing is going right for him

What a sad day for chelsea.   I am in two minds about the whole thing.

Watching Chelsea recently we do not look like scoring, we have one game plan, and always look to be passing back, instead of trying to get forward.... even when chasing the game.

I think we signed Lampard too early and he needed some more experience before returning to Chelsea.

I do however think he should have been given more time to get it right....  I hope we get to see him return and be continue being the Chelsea legend that he deserves to be

The concept of time for a manager is an interesting one for me and I'm less comfortable calling out clubs for not giving a manager time.

If those intimate with the club can see that things like culture is going the wrong direction, and then on-top of that the football is not progressing, then more time isn't going to change that.

I think you can look toward the likes of Ole and Arteta and regardless of results see deeper changes within the club. Never got any of that from Lampard.

Thought a new manager would want to give Billy Gilmour more playing time, but not even on bench today.

More money than sense. When he get's bored and leaves, Chelsea will be better off. Not financially but morally.

I don't really see a problem. He agrees to the contracts. He pays the money.

Being a football manager is one of the hardest jobs NOT to get sacked from, and it happens fast, so contracts with large severance packages seem pretty logical.

What a decent start to the season
If you had asked me at the start of the season if i would be happy being 1 point off top of the table after 6 games i would have jumped at it...

however that Liverpool result annoys me as without the card i think we would of won
City were just too damn good this last weekend.
Think we needed mount in our midfield to help stretch the defense when we got the ball back.  We just put ourselves under too much pressure.

Do feel we are a good chance at the title though.

I get the feeling that Roman genuinely liked Chelsea, and appreciated London/Western life.

Perhaps we'll forgive him if he organises a bullet for Mr Putin's head.
02 Mar 21:17
yeah, reading the article he says he's gonna use the sale money to set up a trust for the Ukrainian people and a rebuild fund. So maybe he's not a Putin supporter, but just can't, for his own safety, be totally out there about it.

Whilst I admire the plan he has announced, I am not sure I believe it. The proceedes gesture is a good gesture but will it happen? If it happens, fair call.

I have heard one buyer, a Mr Manor Briocahman, has already made a bid. He has matched the 4.1 Billion pound asking price.

Bit of  sad day for the club to be honest,  He really loved the club, but if he does hold on to it, it is likely that it will get taken off him.  Really hope the proceeds go to ukraine like said.  Think he is a good man, but you can't deny the links to Putin

Wow huge news.
No idea what will happen now.   Hopefully he sells the club and doesn’t make any money from it.    Cause not being able to sign contracts is a big loss.     Really hope we can keep our players

Funny there was never any outrage or questions asked when he initially bought the club.
If they progress in the CL as expected then have a longer and more costly journey in the next round then imagine the players having to fly Ryanair economy with their boots and shin pads under the seat. Or checking into Ibis Budget and not being happy about it.
All sounds a bit too good to be true for rival fans though. Expect there will be some loophole and it will blow over in a few days and they will be fine.

I don't think you can be a "good man" and an oligarch at the same time? He didn't just luck into loadsa loadsa rubles, after all. And he was reportedly on the committee that interviewed, and appointed, Putin for the top job.

That's not an anti-Chelsea thing either. I think in PR terms that Roman comes across as a jovial custodian of Chelsea, but to get to the top in his business you ain't a good man. The Glazers would be cods, Henry at Liverpool, etc etc.

Probably because foreign ownership was in it's infancy so he was a novelty, there was the cock and bull story about him watching some European final and talking to some taxi driver about buying a football club, and Putin was just an itch in his daddy's ballsacks (not quite, but the West didn't know him).
He's no saint, but at least he isn't a state trying to sports-wash their horrendous crimes away......cough cough PSG Newcastle Man City cough cough....

yeah, most, if not all the current rich oligarchs in russia, including Putin, made a fudge tonne of money when the soviet union collapsed. They maneuvered themselves into controlling big parts of key oil/gas/power companies and then made mega bucks with the influence they now have

Definitely the lesser of two evils compared to the Middle East owned clubs.

Three for me, and two for them.

13 Mar 20:42
One thing's for sure, all the american owners aint looking so bad now ;)
14 Mar 01:28
Absolutely. I complain a lot about Kroenke and how absent he is and how little he seems to actually be involved or care about us. But was listening to Arseblog the other day and they pointed out close we could have been to a similar situation had Usmanov won out over him.

14 Mar 08:44
It is nice to have an owner who is interested in the club and cares deeply about it.   Sure Roman’s money was nice but he loved the club so much and did good things for it.   But worried about selling to the Saudi Arabia media group.

Chelsea haven't had a decent diver since Drogba but there's speculation about Neymar approaching the club having leaned that PSG would be quite ok with him leaving.

Huge difference from my last post, but feel we have been very lucky start of season. Think we have had 2-3 lucky calls go our way.   Pedro is looking like a great signing.
But injuries already starting to build up

Weren't they declared favourites after they beat us 1-1 recently too?

So the European and World Champions have both sacked their managers not long after. It's almost like performance in the league and main competitions matters or something. 🤷‍♂️
