Torres had a good game, but he'll need a lot more.

3-1 victory in the Club World Cup against Mexican Champions Monterrey.

Match Report here

Interesting bit of this is with Romeu out for the season, Rafa played Luiz in a DM role rather than in the back line, and it sounds like it worked pretty well.

Edit: Just found a video  of Luiz's performance v Monterrey - looks good

Looking forward to the Final on Sunday! C'mon you Blues!

Leeds v Chelsea League Cup QF is on TAB watch and bet  in 15mins.

Need to beat dirty Leeds, after missing out on the Charity Shield, Super Cup, and Club World Cup it would be really nice to stay in the race for this piece of silverware.

damn, 1-0 down at half time, not from lack of trying though with Moses and Lampard both having decent cracks at goal

Mataaaaa!!!! 1-1!

Absolutely hammering down with rain at Elland Road

Oh yeeeaaaaaah, great run from David Luiz, perfect crossfield pass to Hazard, 1-one-1 with the keeper and nails it.

Leeds fans flowing out the gates now

4-1 Chelsea

Even Torres gets a goal today! 5-1

Lampard shot parried away then passed back by Hazard to Torres who was in front of the box for a tap in

5-1 against Southampton, not sure why Lambert was rested for the Saints?

The Capital One Cup game v Swanswa is going to be shown on the TAB Watch and Bet service tomorrow at 8:45am, c'mon you Blues

wow, 2 shockers from Ivanovic (who otherwise had a good game).

Hazard, Oscar and Luiz played well, Mata was less than his usual superhuman self.

I thought Ramires and Torres were lacking early on, crazy to wait until the 80th minute to sub them.

Ba was brilliant for the whole 10mins he played.  If nothing else I hope this highlights to Rafa and Roman that Ba needs to start ahead of Torres.

Great goal from Michu, well played by Swansea.

had to love the chant at Stoke "Super Super Johnny Walters!"

4-0 away at the Britannia - brilliant

about 13 years ago · edited about 13 years ago · History

I had Walters in my fantasy team. 2 own goals, one missed penalty and played 90 minutes meant he earned me a grand total of -4 points.

Was stoked to see that, considering I traded him out for Nolan only because of WestHam's two match window.

Edit: Oh dear, terrible, terrible inadvertent pun.  My sincere apologies to you all.

Chelsea, potentially the best club in the world but they'll never get there with the chairman giving only 6 months for a new manager to win every competition he competes in.

Shame, I'd rather Chelsea be 2nd in league of Man City any day of the week.

And Frank Lampard leaving is a big mistake.  Even if he only plays occasionally next season he is still well worth the investment for coverage for the first team.  Although I think wages is a big problem here.  I'd see him taking Paul Scholes place at Man Utd next season as back up for their first team if he doesn't cash in and go off to Japan/US etc.

2-0 up at half time against Southampoton courtesy of Demba Ba and Eden Hazard.

Not the most convincing performance, handed the ball away, but some great work from Hazard, Ba, Lampard and Luiz.  Ramires still looking a bit clumsy, can't see him getting picked above Mikel once he's back from the African Cup of Nations - will be great having Moses back too

Ricky Lambert claws one back for the Saints with a great header from a Clyne cross.

Not sure why Lambert started on the bench?

ah crap, sitting too high, Puncheon gets a deflected pass and nails it.

2-2

and 2-2 it is. Mata was taken out early but stayed on, rather than subbing on Marin and giving Mata a rest Rafa decided it was a much better idea to swap Lampard for Torres.

Pep has gone to Bayern, dear god I hope the fat Spaniosh waiter doesn't get the job full time.

May be dreaming, but pleeeease bring back The Special One
