England vs Croatia
not fair enough in my view ,
there's some on this board who are f**king unhappy right now, so - as above - fair enough at coming back at me for my 'youre not singing dig'
but i think you might show a little more respect for fellow football fans, i rekon your post is close to trolling, at least ginger eeijit's go had a bit of wit to it
if i went into the arsenal thread and posted stuff like yours you'd have every right to feel fkd off
so just show a bit of respect eh
"youre not singing .....
What was that?
fair enough
TBH I had a meeting the whole second half so missed it.
Look on the bright side, as least you know McClown will definitely go now.
I want us to do it, depending on andorra is a bit too tragic!
ah well, I can understand you being pleased (little brother syndrome and all)
i'd been happy for Scotland to have been there preferably alongside England
perhaps the 'British' (if you'll pardon the expression) game has become outmoded (probably the case for the last 15 years)
I want us to do it, depending on andorra is a bit too tragic!

Well, all i can say is....
Mourinho for the job imo.
Given that Ferguson has stated, numerous times, that he would touch the Engl;and job in a month of sundays - very unlike.
I think he said something along the lines of 'I'd be letting myself down, my family down, my city down, my Country down - if I became England manager!'

Did he not say that when he left Aberdeen!!
I'm over the moon that England are out.
FINALLY there is going to be a tournament when people aren't going to go on about England winning it. I mean, it just gets frustrating. Everybody else always knows that England haven't got a chance.loyalgunner2007-11-22 15:38:41
when Sven left, I was hoping we'd get Hiddink, still my preference - but it won't happen
If i could stand either Mourinho or Scolari either would do , but they both piss me off
not sure about big Sam, he's got the passion but i don't think his style of football would be the step into reality that England need
so O'Neill - if he'd do it???
(or outside chance: Otto Rehagel -sp, who did so well with the greek team)
as colvinator suggests (in his inimitable style) the problem doesn't lie solely with the choice of manager - but a good one would surely help!
Bilic also showed McLaren what it means to be an international manager.

Scott Carson insists he is not scared by the challenge of being England goalkeeper as he prepares for his competitive debut in tonight's crunch Euro 2008 qualifier with Croatia at Wembley.

But the Liverpool keeper, currently on loan at Aston Villa, will relish rather than be fazed by the opportunity in a match in which England need to avoid defeat to reach the finals in Austria and Switzerland. Carson said: 'Does the threat of criticism scare you? Not really. You've got to take the good with the bad. 'It's all right everyone talking about you if you do really well but then everyone is going to have a bad game and you've then got to say `I've done that wrong', and you've got to be big enough to take the criticism.' Carson was pleased with his debut against Austria and delighted to rid himself of an unwanted record. He said: 'I had been getting banter off the lads saying I had the record for the most England squad call-ups without winning a cap. It was nice to get that cap. Now I can give the lads a little bit of banter back. 'I wasn't bothered I didn't have a lot to do (against Austria). I just wanted to get out and play and avoid controversy. I was just delighted to get my first cap.' Carson knows all about the qualities of Liverpool striker Peter Crouch and believes he will cause problems for Croatia in what is likely to be a 4-5-1 formation. He said: 'Anyone who gets picked against Croatia will do the job for England but I obviously know Peter from Liverpool and he is a great striker and a great target man. 'He has a great goalscoring record for England, one of the best there is, and hopefully he can carry it on.' Carson was impressed with the turnout of more than 4,000 England fans in Vienna and believes they will have a massive role to play at Wembley. He said: 'The fans are going to be very important when we need a positive result. Hopefully they will be right behind us. 'The England fan base is right up there with the best. Every away game they come out in their thousands and support the team well - like in Austria - and everyone in the squad is really grateful to them home and away.'It's your players that are the main problem, not really the managers, although admittedly McLaren is completely useless.
Sven did as well as he could given what he had at his disposal.

The comment about England fans is piss funny. For the last 20 minutes all you could hear was Hrvatska, Hrvatska.
dosent have to take much to make scotland proud then
Meh Robinson would have let in 6.
England sure are in need of a good keeper!
I think all England fans know that England are only a decent side at best. When they won in 66 it was a surprise (to everyone but Alf Ramsey) not unlike the surprise of the rugby team making the final this year. They were largely crap before that event and they've been largely crap since - (though not crap on a Scotish scale). (I'm still glad they won the World Cup in 66 - it's what made me want to support football)
In 1990 a few months after I migrated here I shouted forEngland against the All Whites at Mt Smart. All around me were going Kiwi Kiwi Kiwi Now I've got a NZ passport, not a UK one, I feel at home here, and if England were playing the All Whites I'd be going Kiwi Kiwi Kiwi Kiwi, too (or whatever chant the white noise intelligensia made up).I saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a shame we didn't put away a couple of more.
