CAF have said publicly that the relationship with the European clubs needs to be looked after.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Same old saffas, always whining!

The Saffa FA could  run the risk of making their players less attractive signing options for European clubs if they persist with this, which would hurt their development.

Have we even done anything wrong? Psht.

Manny Fernandes to come back on loan apparently. Good news though our midfiled is probably our strongest part of the squad.

Its no longer a problem.

1-0 to Everton, Joleon Lescott the scorer from a pass by Mikel Arteta. Everton are now equal, on thirty nine  points, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa.
Come on Everton.

Interesting considering we went there and hammered them 4-1 but only managed a draw at Anfield.

Three for me, and two for them.

Isint bramble just utter sh*t!! Ha Ha. The comentators right, we look like a team with another game on our minds yet with no possession we are 2-0 up at half time!
Hopefully we'll get to see Manny come on. I think we need a bit more muscle in the midfield

Everton boss David Moyes:
"I was worried the pitch was going to suit us and for long periods it looked that way. Wigan put us under a lot of pressure.

"We were fortunate to get a goal when we did and to get two we were. I was not happy with our play but you have to take the conditions into account.

"But you have to find a ways of winning games and at present we're doing that."

Avram Grant has risked offending Everton fans by saying that his experience at a "very small club" in Israel has helped him understand the importance on Merseyside of tonight's Carling Cup semi-final second leg.

Tim Rich: Cahill needs to rekindle fearless spirit
Everton homepage | Chelsea homepage
In pics: Carling Cup semi-final action
Grant's first trophy in senior football arrived when he won Israel's equivalent of the League Cup in 1990 with Hapoel Petah Tikva, a team who are presently languishing in the second division of the Israeli League. And, although they have not won the Israeli title since 1963 and play at a stadium with a capacity of just 7,500, he says that his success in Petah Tikva has enabled him to appreciate what tonight's occasion means to Everton.

Close control: Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka and Tal Ben Haim during training for their semi-final at Goodison Park
Asked about his first major silverware as a manager, Grant said: "It was a Carling Cup. This is the reason that I understand Everton. We were a very small club, we didn't have a budget even for the team, just came from the second division and we took it against the best team in Israel. This is the reason I understand a team like Everton when you are not used to taking trophies. Even if it's not the major trophy for them, it's very, very important.

"I don't think it will give them an advantage but I understand Everton. I understand clubs who didn't take a trophy for a long time."

Grant has been until now a significantly more diplomatic figure than Jose Mourinho, his predecessor as Chelsea manager, yet his remarks seem unlikely to impress David Moyes. True, it is almost 13 years since Everton last lifted a trophy, but it could also be pointed out that they have won nine league titles compared to Chelsea's three.
