there could only have been one outcome, another win for the mighty Everton F.C

isn't great to be just battling to get into the top four, than battling it out of relegation.

wait for it... we can concentrate on the league now!

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I blame Frankie Mac...and my missus who, unbeknownst to me, removed my lad's Everton shorts during the night! Who cares if it was 38 degrees, she's cost us a Mickey Mouse treble!!!

Eeew. I'll probably be sharing the afterlife with Mrs Pie, I hope I don't cop camel-spit splashback....note to self- arrange to be buried in a raincoat.

I got bitten by a camel once - it f**king hurt.

Thoughts from the game - Everton looked toothless without Cahill and Arteta.  vaughan played up front and looked average.  Yakubu came on with about 25 minutes to go and looked fat.  The reserve keeper (Vessells) is f**king useless, so you better hope that Howard stays injury free, or you might still get relegated.  Oldham defended really well, with Everton never testing 174 year old crossley in the oldham goal, apart from hitting the post in the 92nd minute when they really should have scored.  Crossley could barely move he was so old.

The atmosphere was pretty flat which surprised me a bit as I thought everton were known for making a bit of noise.  i tried to get a ticket with the Oldham fans but it was sold out which was a shame as they seemed a bit mental.  they went mental when they won a corner in the first half.  when they scored just before half time, I thought that their area of the stand was going to implode.

All in all,  Oldham fully deserved the win.

I just saw Blackburn 1 Coventry 4.  Jessshh.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

I am a bit surprised that I am going to make the following comment. Both aren't worth playing for amymore. At one time I thought they may have been. ( In 1984 I set off, from Wellington, to the League Cup Final to watch Everton play Liverpool. Got lucky and got tickets to Wembley and then the replay at Maine Road.)

The Mickey Mouse Cup is/was really never worth much.  The Cup was, it really was, until the FA (Guardians of the game????) let MUFC opt out...  that, for me, started a decline. Here's your most vaunted/loved contest and you let one of your BIG clubs opt out.... just so you can get the 2006 World Cup in England.....(that worked didn't it?)

Sure when Everton get by Chelsea and play in the final I'll watch it but it won't really matter...

I think the only thing that's devalued the FA cup was Everton getting turned over by Oldham.

I couldnt give a sh*t how Mickey Mouse the league cup is! Its been 12 long years since the glorious night in Mollys watching us beat Man Uin the cup in 95.( I have the game on DVD that is played regularly at the Kings) and if we make the final Im going to be f**king ecstatic!
Come on Stop out, how could you say that EFC in a major cup comp doesnt really matter!!!!!!

twelve years!!!!!  Saw that and went "naah it's not" then did a rethink.Where does time go???   My flatmate, at the time, was a Man U fan. He has never spoken to me since. He got it into his head that I was taking the mick after the whistle went.... Not me. I'm there to support my team not to see the other side. Anyway, he never spoke to me again...

Even with the 84 match I went to see Everton and Liverpool at Wembley not for the League Cup. Do you get my drift? At the same time I still got my hands on the League Cup (photo here somewhere...) which is more than the team did.Was sat 2 rows back directly behind the goal that Souness scored in...NOT funny.

Last cup tie I went to was Watford v Everton. (2001)  Everton end was full so I went on to Watford's kop end. Great until we scored our second...(we got two in the last ten mins) I tried to be subdued and thought I'd got away with it. Woman couple of rows behiind me starts yelling at me that I'm a ** and a *** and before you know it they're all screaming at me. At that point I thought that I had been "unwise" then , bless, a plod spots me and shouts over to me to "come here". Thought I was going to be "ejected" but no, plod says "ignore them you'll be alright with us". So I spent the last couple of minutes with the police. Funny they were really into it. dairyflat2008-01-07 19:13:06
