Seriously, they have supposedly capable players, a supposedly capable manager, so what is really going wrong. Do you think the now infamous "director of football" has basically given Ramos a mutt of a team and told him to make it win Crufts, or is it more a case of 11 individuals going out to play, and not enough of a team ethic? I'm confused.
It's not much fun having our fiercest rival being such a joke atm, everyone is having a go at spurs at the moment and that usually our job as Gooners. the fans are so depressed they cant even be bothered fighting back.
Where is the glory in beating Tottenham in a derby if a Sunday pub team could do the same?

they always did conceed a lot of goals, and the only way they ever did ok was by scoring a lot aswell. bent isnt used to being number 1 striker and pavlyuchenko it still settling into england.
maybe just turn back time and dont sell keane and berbatov...

400lb of explosive and a dozen packets of party poppers?

Apologies Uber as you did ask for a serious response but...I kind of like them the way they are now!

Unfortunately. they'll probably come right by their own doing. I believe that Ramos is not this bad a manager or tactician.

I thought Ramos would be the man to turn them around, especially after he made such an impact early in his time there.
However....
He bought Pavlyuchenko, and quickly concluded that he thought him and Bent probably wouldn't be able to play together. Well, why buy him if Bent is going to be your main striker?
Last season, Huddlestone was good enough to play himself into an England squad, O'Hara looked the business in midfield and yet both seem to be on the outer now. Why?
Ramos hasn't had the guts yet to make the big calls. For example, the Ledley King situation needs to be sorted, yet he appears to be an untouchable. King's position at the club reminds me a lot of the later Alan Shearer years at Newcastle. Shearer was clearly a yard off the pace and the goals had more-or-less dried up (apart from the penalty spot) but had become such a club icon everything possible was done to accomodate him.
Anyway, Ledley King is never going to be able to play regularly at that level again, that has been admitted, so why is he still a squad member? That's got to be as unsettling to the squad as the 'Berbatov to Man U' situation was. Put King out to pasture.
Ramos has the pedigree to turn it around, and I think he'll be given more time yet. But if they don't get a win under their belts very soon (and they've got a tough month ahead fixture-wise) then things may change.

History shows some teams being relegated from Premier League which on paper looked very good.  West Ham and Leeds most famously.  Even Birmingham last time.  So having the roster isnt always enough.

Three things need to happen, firstly Ramos needs to find a starting 11 to 14 who have some mongrel and want to fight for the shirt, secondly they need straightforward luck (couple of jammy 1-0 wins) and thirdly they need to find a system that works with the players they have.  Presently they dont seem to have those things.

For me a player like O'Hara is just the sort of mongrel player you need right now.

Pavlyuchenko is good but like many players he needs some adjustment time and needs confidence which comes with being in a winning team...he cant be the solution.

More of the season has already gone than you think; we are past the opening period now and bottom teams learn that hard lesson that they have to outpoint the mid table teams regularly in order to close the gap and thats hard in Premier League.

We simply lack class this season, which is what we had in Berba and Keane. You can't simnply go out and buy it. We are panicking far too much during matches and we need someone to sit on the ball and control the game. Huddlestone used to perform this role, but as the jam said he's now on the outer. Zokora isn't as bad as many make out he is. Maybe we could put him in the back line like Chelsea did with Essien when they were short of centre backs. We must start both Lennon and Dos Santos out wide, they are the only players who seem to want to attack.

I think they need to slow the game down until their defence is stable. Chuck 5 in defence for a couple of weeks and see how you go against the big boys. If we keep giving up goals, we will never win as we can't score enough with our current team. Hutton was a welcome return although Gunter is progressing well also. Bale's suspension will hurt the team as his set pieces are quality.

how about feed them, they have this new nutritionist whose turned their food into something similar to baby food and the players are all on strict diets, which leaves them starving before a game, can't play on an empty stomach.

It's Karma remember before last season when they said they were going to be the one to break into the top 4 and stay there. Like leeds who said they were gonna be as big as ManUre. It's karma putting all the pretenders back in their place.

A season in the chapionship should be good for them. Still funny though.lol

I'm with the good ship Huddlestone on this one...it really doesn't matter how much the core of the team pick up the lack of goal scorers is going to be a major hurdle this season. Keane not only scored a fair rate he laid an aweful lot of them on.

I'll not comment on Berba, but I hope he gets written into the vagina monologues at the earliest opportunity as he would make a great case study for a PhD.

If they were a dog, you would put them down.  I thought Ramos was a good appointment at the time but something is seriously wrong there.  It's going to be a long hard season.  I used to really hate Spurs, but they've been so generous to Chelsea over the last 20 years I now merely dislike them and content myself with the fact that they must REALLY hate us - although not as much as Arsenal I suspect.  I'm still amazed they got a point at the Bridge!

A little boy goes to DOCS (or perhaps the UK equivalent) and says he needs to find somewhere to live.
What about your parents? they ask him.
No, no, they beat me he cries.
What about your grandparents then? Can you go live with them?
No,no, they beat me harder, he replies.
Well why dont you go live at White Hart Lane? Tottenham never beats anyone

Spurs have sucked in Goal ever since Ray Clemence handed in the gloves. With all the money that has been wasted over the last 10 years, they really should have done a lot better. I reckon their fans are about as unlucky as Newcastle United ones.

Both sets of fans are quite passionate about their respective clubs that continue to defy the odds and NOT deliver.

I wonder how Peter Taylor would go in charge? Or bring back Ozzie!!

I was in the pub earlier tonight and next to me was a guy with the sweetest looking dog imaginable. When the Tottenham score was read out on TV this dog went berserk. It started growling and barking, even tried to bite a couple of people nearby.

I said, Bloody hell mate, whats that all about?

He replied, Oh he does that every time Tottenham lose

I said, Well what happens when they win?

He replied, Hell knows, Ive only had him six months!

I actually did start this thread as somewhere to discuss spurs problems rather than take the piss, but i think they are too easy a mark to hit at the moment so this thread will get shut dow, and you can go back to the Attn: Spurs fans thread to put the boot in.
