another great result. Good goals too! Poor marking for the first, but geovanni's was a great teamwork goal and king's finish was fantastic.

This start is starting to get me thinking about serious survival. I don't think we'll finish in the top 5 but its looking very likely for at least top 10.

LOL, I've always been a fan of both teams. Born in Hull but an Everton fan since I was 7. Never been a problem until this season
Not sure who I want to win more and was actually pretty glad when they drew 2-2 a few weeks back

apparently big Phil (as opposed to true Brit hero genius Phil) has been rabbiting on saying Geo is good enough to play for Chelsea - i wonder if that is an attempt to unsettle the lad or the City squad prior to tomorrow's game

if so, it might backfire as he might put in even more than usual to increase his 'value'

on balance though, i'd rather he has a stinker (even if we lose) and Big Phil loses interest

so i guess BP's 'mind games' might be working

f**k it

Well played Tigers, but great we got our season back on track.  Geovanni unlucky with his cracker that hit the post....

Thought you might enjoy this off the Guardian website.....
How they compare

Price of average terrace house

Main span of landmark bridge

Hull: 1410m

Nightlife

Hull: The cheap and cheerful Spiders is popular, thanks to its alternative music and relaxed attitude, and does a roaring trade in "parntsa larga"

Rugby league clubs in borough

Hull: 2

Chelsea: 0

well we are still half way to safety with 1/4 of season gone

and if someone had said to me

"you'll lose to chelsea on Oct 29th but don't worry it'll only drop you to fifth place"

I would have been looking around for the guys coming to get him and take him back to his cosy little room

Still serving the  Prawn sandwiches in the Shed are they??

4-3 at Old Trafford and the Tigers do something few others have achieved - getting a Penalty there. A day of upsets as Stoke (Joke sh*tty) do the job on the Arse! And Ipswich beat the mighty Super Hoops.

well we weren't disgraced,

i'm disappointed but not suicidal (glad i didn't have the opportunity to watch v  Wigan or chelsea)

we were done out wide - with dawson and Mcshane struggling defensively (e.g. - for the first two goals respectively)

we missed Ashbee - but with his style we will lose him again this season, although that's a price worth paying

thought Geo had a good game and Cousin is well at home at this level, the Boat did some good work and Zayatte and Marney caught the eye on occasions, and Mendy's effort suggests a hint of depth in the squad

Turner, might have been lucky to avoid a second yellow - but not to the extent the Old Red Nose is suggesting

quite a bit to take from the game- as long as the players take PB's words to heart

a better run of games coming up - whew

You boys gave that a real crack this morning, I kept thinking about Tottenham on Thursday and sh**ting myself. But we just got over the line. It's great that you came to Old Trafford, played two up front and Giovanni, and went for it. Well rewarded with three goals. Look foward to the away fixture!

for the first time all season , i think the result could indicate which third of the table we''ll finish in

win = top or middle third

draw = middle or bottom third

loss = bottom third, but probably staying  up

C'MON U 'ULL WIN THIS UN !!

and yep, i know that one result will never indicate anything but... after a few drinks i think I'm Mystic Meg's bother

Man United, the only Div 2 side ever to average 68,000 for the season. Mind you, a few years back Aston Villa were getting 50,000 and they were in Division 3!!

the way the election is going i may well need a city win to make tomorrow doable

edit- not a good results weekend since saturday morning, hopefully TW will bring the curve back up at the end of the weekend

apparently Bolton's keeper had a blinder, but it seems we didn't use Mendy well when he came on out-wide

need at least a point when Man c visit next sunday - it's on sky monday am - so hopefully will be a good start to next week

i wonder if we need to vary the line -up and formation a bit, if teams have worked us out

then again, not many teams beat chels and mu and by all acounts we could well have had at least a  point on another day, so we can probably pick up again from here

transfer window rumour

>>

Hull boss Phil Brown is considering making a 2m January move for Dutch winger Eljero Elia, who currently plays for FC Twente.

The 21-year-old Holland Under-21 international has caught the eye with some excellent performances for Steve McClaren's men this season, especially against Manchester City in last week's Uefa Cup clash.   <<

apparently PB is after 4-5 signings - if he recruits as well as he has so far that'll be good news

quite happy with that point (certainly would have taken it at the start of this season)

very poor defending for both sides first goals

with Ireland's Zayatte made a complete hash of the simple task of controlling the ball and  gettingout of his feet to knock it up field, though he wouldn't have even been involved if Cousin hadn't played a poor square ball on half way

great to see Geo score off a delflection - at the third attempt - following two bookings for the wall encroaching

we dominated for the first 35 mins, then let it slip to go in at haltime 2-1 down,

pretty even second half - although i thought we might snatch a winner in the last half hour

i was glad when the final whistle went though

Happy with that  point,

still 6th though Everton could nip above with a win tonight (a bit of a dilemma for you there toffeeman?)

be interesting to see if Windass gets credited with the equaliser, or Parmot adds an own goal to his cv

indeed so Corkster, from memory we drew 1-1 at your place last year and Leon cort scored against us in one of the games

I expect Parkin won't be appearing against us (is he still on your books?)

clearly both sides could do with the three points ,

but not as much as last season's championship winners

I was talkin to a PNE fan the other week and 'The Beast' is up with Preston at the moment.

For our sake best outcome would probably be a point a piece, that or a Hull win

the Beast certainly won a few fans with his goal that saw us beat leeds 2 seasons ago, before we were two divisions above them

hopefully he'll do the business for Nice Effort and any other PNE fans on this board

regarding the game v Stoke, I'll take your second option thanks

I've heard of throwing in the towel - but it got a bit out of hand this morning. Best laugh of the weekend though was that final Hull throw in where he wiped the ball for about a minute and the referee blew full time.
