Leeds late show agaimst Exeter has got Bill in an expectant mood. I wonder how good that Beckford is...?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

This has to be leeds season to be promoted, if not its time to say good bye to Beckford & Howson. With the squad they have and grayson in charge I am confident we'll do it with ease thanks to Beckfords goals. Please just dont break your leg Beckford!!!!

good point first up for Hartlepool, squad still a bit dodgy and defence is again a problem but hopefully we can build on what is a surprising point first up.

Also last seasons 1st choice centre back left us for Norwich in the off season, heard they enjoyed  his performance as well.

Exeter were playing with 10 for a large part of the game so grabbing a late winner as Leeds did, well a win is a win is a win I guess but with the transfer window wndow still open Beckford could still go

I'm with News in that I enjoy nothing more than seeing the Tweety Birds basically write off their chances of promotion in the first game week, but sacked after one league game is a bit much. Now that he is gone, will be interesting to see what happens with Theoklitos.

Ouch. The first time we've conceded 7 or more in a league game since Dec 73. Ouch. The first time we've lost by 6 or more in a league game since Oct 74. Ouch. The first time we've ever lost 7-1 in a league game. Ouch.

Did I say ouch.

I feel no f**king sympathy for you SiNZ. Nothing personal, but your club are filthy manager-stealing scum.

(It really isn't anything personal.)

Has anyone not stolen a manager off your lot Granville ?

...or are you assuming SiNZ is a budgie fan ?  Rather than being aware of the Huddersfield result this morning ?

Apologies SiNZ, Hard News has informed me you are a Brighton fan who got arseholed this morning by Huddersfield.

And there was me thinking that's the last time I lend you a pair of GK gloves for summer league! Norwich, pah. I have the same good taste as Dominic. Not that it's a simple matter of taste - Brighton's where I'm from.

For a minute though, I was trying to figure out if Russell Slade had been up for the Colchester job before coming to us. We suffer from poachers over the last decade - Nobby Horton to Port Vale, Micky Adams to Leicester, Peter Taylor* to Hull, Steve Coppell to Reading.

Our chairman from 97 to 08, Dick Knight, said he would never poach a manager. The nearest we've come to a poach was an agreed discussion to someone who turned us down last year (name temporarily eludes me - Stockport manager).

*Actually Taylor left us first because he didn't fancy the challenge of keeping us in the Championship, but he joined Hull pretty much straight away.

Haha apologies Mike! I wouldn't admit to having the same taste as Dominic though...

Just finished listening to our match away to Yeovil. Bugger. A mate of mine, who was at the game, summed it up best when he emailed:

Lost - one football team.  Last seen at 3:45pm at Huish Park, Yeovil.  Disappeared before our very eyes just before half time and haven't been seen since.  If found, please return to Brighton and Hove Albion FC.

Yeah of course - they used to be a League Club back in the 1890s. They used to be the only ever present in the Conference - but were rescued from relegation by off the pitch problems of other clubs a few times. If I recall correctly, their first season out of the Conference was a "Glen Moss/NZF" style cock-up. NW were sold to new owners, but there was some mix up about remembering to apply for or confirm their Conference status and so they lost it. They did get back after one season away, but were then relegated conventionally.

League One has a bit of an A-League look to it this year, Oldham one of 4 or 5 teams with identical records in the middle of the table. 5-5-5 record from teams 8-13 I think

Not at all, since it was essentially their first squad, playing a non-league team...  Mind you they're had worse moments recently, let's be honest!

How was the game Addicks? cracker atmosphere? I've been catching the Friday night games over the net where they've been on TV or on BBC radio. Racon looked ok and Wagstaff's looked on form. Was his goal against Oldham a ripper? Flash_Harry2010-08-26 21:45:43

Currently watching Brighton vs Colchester on Bet365, awesome stuff. That Noone kid playing for Brighton puts in some cracking crosses..

We will never fully decide who has won the football.
