I understand Farsley Celtic FC in the Conference are to change their name to Leeds FC. The plan is to get promotion and pass United on the way down.

I wonder if a Premiership club will ever get punished as severely as any Championship/nation wide side?? NOT!

Leeds appeal against 15 pt deduction, was overwhelmingly rejected by other League team Chairmen.75%+ voted to keep the deduction in place.League 2 beckoning?

Rubbish! Leeds to push for playoff position, just a slow start similar to that of Sunderlands last season in the fizzy pop championship. Would be happy with a mid table finish and no headlines from leeds for a change...

Bless em, it still stands.

What about the "raving irons" shouldn't they have got an equally harsh punishment.

I wonder how many voted as pay back against Ken Bates and how many voted because they don't like Leeds.

Leeds will be back up in the top flight, Once master bates stops w**king around and has bled the club for every last cent he can get out of the club.
I have always wondered why has one of these big overseas businesses not come in and snapped up a bargain
We are seeing second rate clubs being taken over at an amazing rate of speed and money being pumped in to them (Portsmouth,Reading etc.) Surely a club with the history of Leeds would be a plump opportunity for investment, after all its was only 5-6 years ago we were looking at a team in the semi finals of the champions league.
I suspect that many businessmen realise that there is no way that Bates and his shonky un-identifiable backers will ever relinquish control, When they have an ideal vehicle to register their losses against and continue to rip of the tax department.
I just hope that the players can rise above this bollocks and play with the pride and passion that almost saved them last season.
It would be foolish to think that we can climb back in to the championship this season, but i don't believe its unreallistic to say that Leeds ARE 15 points better than a large number of teams in this division.

Switch to Farsley Celtic - abandon Bates - rebuild Leeds pride with a fan focused club.

I agree with you phoenix 2007.  Batesy is ruining the club and I'm pretty sure that off Great Britians shores it is the fourth best supprted club behind the Man Scum, Liverpuds, and the london w**kers.

That aside two from two so far.  If we win league one that would be a big middle finger two all the other teams, managers and chairmen within that league.

you going to nottingham forest match disco_mart??? Will be my second leeds match, they tend to have better atmosphere than premiership matches.

Judging by your picture you were at the wrexham match with beige brigade/black sheep. Was a great trip despite someone urinating throughout the back of the bus.

I was so looking forward to the start of the season, and we've made a cracking start, but am already starting to feel the effects of staying up past 4am to listen to the LUTV internet commentary each Staurday night.

Forest in a few hours. Come on you mighty whites!

Hope we get the opportunity to tell the league to stuff their points deduction, but even more, it'd be one in the eye for all those other clubs that voted gainst Leeds just because Bates is in charge. Hate Bates if you must, but love Leeds...danny2007-08-25 21:53:06

-6 points. +5 GD.

If it wasn't for Leeds going into administration you'd be top of the league.  The deduction rule applies to all clubs not just Leeds.

That said there's plenty of games ahead. My feeling is that Leeds will go up this season.

Can't blame Leeds fans for that, try two chairmen (Risdale & Bates) & a manager (David O'Leary).

The thing is, we were deducted 10 points at the end of last season when we first applied for administration, when we were still mathematically a chance to stay up. We did this with this thinking we will swallow the pill now and come out all guns blazing in league one. But this wasnt enough so they decided to deduct a further 15 points from us for our next campeign, therefore hampering us in two seasons.

We have been deducted 25 league points in total.

How many points were Leicester deducted?

How many points were Rotherham deducted?

How many points were Wimbledon deducted?

Leeds lost another 15 points because we did not agree a CVA with creditors, this thanks to the tax man not agreeing. Why did the tax man not agree? Because the FL changed the rules a few years ago that meant the tax man no longer gets all debts paid in full by clubs in admin like the players do. So Lord Mahwinney makes up a penalty for this! We have made a fool of him by going into admin last season as it didnt cost us nothing as we were already relegated, this pissing him off!

Was at Forest match yesterday, chants of 'F off football league F off' were brilliant! Bet the lord is loving the profits from the gate numbers leeds are attracting!

Unfortuantly my last leeds match i will be able to attend as returning to aussie next month! Off to barcelona v inter milan next week, cant wait to see Nou Camp! MOT

You know you've got that all wrong don't you?

The 15 points was not the admin deduction, those 10 points were taken last season.

They took 15 points from us this season because they hate Ken Bates, or reasons to that effect.

There it is now. Rule 77c Para 19. Any team involving Ken Bates is deducted fifteen points at start of season.   I think not.

After mightyleeds comments I started having a further look. What a mess!
At the same time I see that ""The Football League Board agreed that, notwithstanding the manner in which this administration has been conducted, the club should be permitted to continue in the Football League," said a statement." Which to my mind implies that those (KPMG?) handling the administration are being criticised.

Yes your right, KPMG made a right balls up and for some reason they are not punished for this! Basically the whole thing was a mess and no parties come out looking good. And then the final insult to leeds fans was the appeal where all other football league chairman ruled on whether or not the penalty should be reduced or quashed. Yeah i could just imagine that happening! Even Ridsdale had the cheek to vote against us, scum bag!
