We'll be going up, just got to fight back after a poor couple of weeks.

EDIT: Great idea! Terry, get Leeds down here for a friendly next year!

My brother defected to Lancashire in the early 70s, marrying into a Burnley supporting family (but I don't talk about him) so I have a tinsy-winsy bit of time for them.

Burnely was the first away game I went to, in 1969, on one of those old football special trains. 0-0, their goallie, Peter Mellor, had a Mosser of a game.

Back to now and after the Adalaide game, back in the hotel we were staying, a guy getting out of the lift as we were getting in - he was in a group of middle aged well dressed people probably going out for dinner - said "did they win", I said "no, lost" He said "Again?" looking down his nose, as if we should feel ashamed!

Though I'd not felt too unhappy with the game, this perturbed me for a while -- until I clarified it in my head - it's not whether you win, it's who you are that counts. I'm lucky enough to support two of the worlds better clubs in terms of who we are, and week by week results are not the most significant thing. They will come. History is waiting for us.

Maybe at this point it would be appropriate to thank CCFC for instigating this Leeds United thread, and to wish his club well in it's relegation battle and struggle against administration.

and re the fifth post in the thread "how the mighty fall" .  a bit unfortunate when the mighty fall on you

3-0

The BBC says -
Leeds 4-0 Huddersfield
<!-- S BO --><!-- S SF --> Jermaine Beckford scored twice as Leeds boosted their promotion challenge by routing Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield.

A crowd of 32,501 - the highest at this level since 1979 - saw Leeds go ahead against the run of play through Jonathan Douglas's long-range effort.

Beckford slid in for his first on 49 minutes before popping in a rebound with 21 minutes to go.

Substitute Tore Andre Flo completed the scoring with a tap-in, although the scoreline was harsh on the visitors.

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Well - a couple of one-all draws for God's faVOURite teams this weekend.

Away at Walsall is maybe a point gained  but home to Queensland might be two points lost   Having said that, it's always a cause for celebration when the Nix don't get beaten

Leeds are not going to be top of the league before Christmas  and the Phoenix are not going to make the playoffs  but it's only a matter of time

1-1 draw with Hartlepool on Wednesday had us top of the table for two hours! Seemed a little bit shaky the last couple of games, saving ourselves with late goals.

You could think that was a good result but I couldn't possibly agree with you.

19,000 at Swansea....
The top-of-the-table clash was never less than riveting

After losing in League One Playoff last season I think that we will be back at Wembley not finally go up.  I have scored a final ticket already.

Are there any Walsall fans out there who think you will either keep a clean sheet or draw at Elland Road tomorrow night?

Whats the score between the fans? Ironically on the documentary channel two nights ago was a programme on Police surveilance and it was all about Millwall visiting Leeds.

I hope leeds win, all that crap  about taking points, what has it really achieved other than Luton playing in the conference? When will they start dishing out the same to the top 4 for some of their antics??

Yip sure is, thus making this season our worst in decades.  How could Beckford miss??? TBH a great save from the keeper though.

Well done Milwall

Funny you mention this, back in August I went to watch Plymouth play Luton in the league cup and Luton fielding a team of unpaid ring ins, won!!!

To the point though, all these small clubs have been hammered, I would love to see the same rules apply to Premiership teams.

Makes me wonder what it will take to get promotion other than avoid the playoffs

The Yeboah piece during halftime of the arse/mancs game was awesome. What a player. Can't believe george graham sold him, what a shame.

We learned to finish top two the hard way as well. Could you imagine the powers that be handing out big bans to the top 4 for some of the behaviour on and off the feild in the past??

I think we all know, the most recent incidents coming out of Chelsea just down the road from me.

Yes and also the Standing over and abuse of referees despite there being a call for tougher penalties, it's still going on. Also two Liverpool players (Carragher) having a stouch when a few years back a certain Newcastle Player was given a Red and a ban for the same thing. and this is only in the last three weeks.

To all Leeds fans out there on this forum, should we keep using this thread or actually start a new one ala what has just been done for Arsenal fans.
