That was Perennial strugglers Liverpool's 15th loss in all competitions this season. Conversely, Perennial strugglers Liverpool only suffered 5 defeats in all competitions last season.

Three for me, and two for them.

Do you think he will go at the end of the season?

Permalink Permalink

This week last year, Perennial strugglers Liverpool thrashed Man U 4-1 at OT and Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield. Fast forward to 2010, where Perennial strugglers Liverpool have spent the week losing 0-1 at both Wigan and Lille.

LOL.

Probably. They'll wait for him to accept the role at Juve so they don't have to pay out umpteen squillions of pounds on his contract.

O'Neil could be a good option.

How much longer can this go on...?

The Wigan game the other night was terrible! Though the Lille game was intense at the end, I can still see them progressing with the home leg still to come.

Rafael Benitez admitted he was pleased with the response of his players during the 1-0 defeat at Lille and then backed them to overturn the first-leg deficit at Anfield next week.

Glad someone was happy...

Against the sixth best team in the fifth best league in Europe, no less.

Fixed. Ligue un >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bundesliga

Three for me, and two for them.

Hmm not sure I agree with you there. I have heard a few people claiming Bundesliga is 'better' than Serie A.

Regardless, I was going on UEFA coefficients.

Permalink Permalink

Both are probably than Serie A. Serie A is a f**king joke.

Three for me, and two for them.

Insua on the borderline? You can't create a youth set up in 3 years and have world class players coming out of it by the 5th year. He had to completely reshuffle it. Our reserves are very good, and a young side too.

Lucky for the Reds that the Pixies were so good Friday night so that I was feeling in a better mood! Because I was gutted with that result. The number of games that we have played well in this year I can count on one hand. Rooney must be licking his lips...

I think the worst part is that I wasn't even surprised that we lost! Pompey next, yeah? Joy.

What a terrible headline: https://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=754842&sec=england&cc=3436. But I love this man, so much. If everyone (particularly Steven "Mr Perennial strugglers Liverpool" Gerrard) showed his attitude we wouldn't be here. Reina, Masch and Torres  Battlers. The rest? Bottlers. I'm sick of Stevie and Carra at the moment. Stevie is waiting for the World Cup, and Carra only cares about his contract and future. I'm not saying we should sell them or anything, but come on. A bit of spirit would be nice.

Also, I feel so sorry for Torres. That Lille game was just hoof it up to Torres, who was completely alone, and let him do something. It doesn't work- help him out. I remember when he chased, sprinted, after that (hopeless) ball to the corner flag, slid in, won the ball, got a boot in the face and the ball hit the Lille man's hand, and he just lay there like "What the f**k?".

$100m cash offer for 40% by the Rhone Group

I'll take that plus 3 points tomorrow. Anything that'll lessen the Texan's grip on the club.

Oh and I'll take the signature of Ireland in the summer too

it really worries me torres dosent trust half of his team out on the pitch, obviously hes justified in it, but you cant expect the team to perform well AS A TEAM when the players dont think they can count on each other. i no if i was on the pitch for them i wouldnt play the ball any where near dirk kuyt

Torres doesn't trust half of them- and rightfully so! But agree. You can't expect them to play well. Whereas last season, they all played for each other.

Big game today, folks... *sigh*

Morning Lads. I've got my grain of salt hat on this morning. I'll take a 1-0 victory via a Babel hand ball (ie header). It's only about the 3 points this morning and I don't care how we get them...

Couldn't believe it, was just about to pop up and post on the first goal and number 2 went in.

#1 - Torres tap in after Ashdown had a brain fart
#2 - A Babel toe-poke

...and while I was typing this #3 has just gone in, Aquilani has got his first for the Reds after a nice move.

Halftime, still 3 - 0.

Could have been more, Torres hit the post and Gerrard put one just wide. They are finally starting to play like they should all the time, the old pass and move stuff and starting to look good.

Just as well since we have the scum this weekend.

Piquionne just got a good header on target, almost Pompeys best effort of the game.

Shame it was his own goal.

Haven't been this pleased since, well... all season. Good energy from Aquaman and even Babel looked like he wanted to be part of the team. Aqua needs to start from now, especially this week against Lille.

forget the result and who it was against....

im happy we finally played some football...

not trying to take a dig at the two of them, but its not a coincidence we put in our best attacking performance for months when kuyt and lucas wernt in the team.

AQUAMAN FTW!!!

was also impressed by babel....heres hoping rafa wasnt just resting dirk and lucas for lille and the scum

Chance of Rafa now starting Lucas ahead of Aquilani at OT?
