Not claiming the stats are 100% correct, as there are always some 'secret' transfers, but they are approximately right. Of course this is not a science.

Here's another thread of your type arguing about it. You'll note the Liverpool stats are proved near correct about halfway through the first page. Similarly, the point is made that Arsene doesn't sign big name players but sells some very high price players.

Feel free to point out minor discrepancies in the data, but I'm sure deep down you know that Liverpool have spent a sh*tload more than Arsenal in recent times.

Yep, thanks a truckload for kicking us when we're down Arse Bandit.

I'm sure at the end of the season when your trophy cabinet is empty and you'll be looking for sympathy I'll be right there to laugh at you and mock you on the Arse thread.

Here's a stat for you:
Liverpool FC are the most successful English team of all time.

I was providing stats showing that Arsenal have spent significantly less than Liverpool recently in response to the use of a $ sign levelled at Arsenal.

Please don't break down.

Just a cup team thats won the league 18 times FA Cup 7 League Cup 7 European Cup 5 Charity Shield 15 Euro Super Cup 3.

Will be back mate good things take time.

Good draw for the Ar$e on the weekend

More Cups than Leagues there mate.

Remind me who drew with Boro on said weekend? And who also conceded a goal to Titus Bramble at home, and scraped a draw with Luton Town away?

signs that your team is crap:

1. you have to pull out statistics from 20 years ago to give yourselves hope.

2. you need two games with a full strength squad to beat a team in the league 1 relegation zone. francsernal2008-01-16 10:35:46

The FA Cup is a minefield for Rafa, if he fields a full strength side he risks getting a key player injured by some thug, if he doesn't and the result doesn't go his way like the first Luton game he gets massacred by the friggin English press.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could lock down this thread so only actual Liverpool fans could discuss their team rather than having Arse Bandit and Scum fans posting rubbish in here all the time???

I can't speak for others, but I never go into the Manure, Chelskea or Arse threads to post rubbish about their teams. (West Ham don't even rate a mention)

Too much 'Schadenfreude' from you Arsenal, why don't you just start your own Spurs thread and poke fun at them.

Horrible few minutes led us to draw today, I thought Hyypia was good although he was out jumped by Laursen for Harewood's goal. Also Kuyt link up and holding up was good too.

Thought we where going to pull off a Inter style win.

I agree Fitz, i don't bother with their threads either.

It seems to me that there is enough support for Liverpool fans on this thread for mods to delete any trolling from certain individuals - some of whom have been warned by HN already.

I'll start deleting such posts from now on.

Let me know, if you are a liverpool fan who'seposted on this forum up til now and would prefer it if i didn't take this action.

Good to see censorship alive and well.

Of all the forums I post on, this forum is easily the most heavily moderated.

talking of Liverpool

a cup outing, then 6 points from Wham and Sunderland

setting us up nicely for Chels away then Inter at home

a few tasty encounters to look forward to

(hopefully the off-field stuff will get sorted before too long)

The off the field stuff is killing us, the media have successfully made a mountain out of a mole hill with the American owners talking to Klinnsman.

At the moment the best outcome I can see is that the Dubai syndicate buy out the Yanks and settle things down a bit. I'm really concerned that these Yanks seem to have put none of their own money into the club and its all based on loans including the proposed new stadium. If they really support the club, lets see them front some of their own cash. Its smacks of the Glazers buying Manure.

Right now Chelsea aren't playing well but importantly they are scrapping wins. I shudder to think how we'll go against an excellent Inter side unless we can improve dramatically.

I don't mind Arsenal coming in here talking crap hehe, but not too much ... as for these Yanks, it's really pissing me off how they can just waltz in and buy our team, then change things as they see fit, just because theyre the owners.

Leave Benitez in til at least the end of the season, review his performance and then decide, I say leave him there for at least another year, and give him some decent money to buy players that are needed, especially in defence, and another decent striker plus get rid of Couch, Kuyt and Voronin, surely with the presence of Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano, players of similar caliber will be attracted to Liverpool.

I hope that the owners see sense and leave things be.

Can I ask why so many of you keep mentioning the nationality of the owners? Is it really that important?

PLEASE NOTE I AM A FRIENDLY VISITOR:
I think it would take a bit away from the usual banter that goes with these threads if it was limited to club supporters only. Sure, delete the crap comments but surely two sides of a discussion following a game is acceptable. Timing to perfection when West Ham are due to play Liverpool next week and first week of March. Who knows, they may deserve a mention after that.

If you do decide to restrict this thread dont carry it through to all the teams threads. We arent all this sensitive.

Cos it's quicker than having to write "neo-con coporate ram raiders, and purseman for George W." every time.  Besides we don't mention the nationality, we call them  "Yanks"!

The more I read about H&G, the image I get is of Gordon Gekko sneering "Football, it's a zero sum game, pal!"

Hi uiron,

there are no plans for a restriction of who can post on this or any other thread

i suppose the ideal is that people who visit other club's threads bear in mind that they are visitor's and resist the urge to push their luck

e.g i regularly post on the col u thread ("Lifes' not fair") and seem to be accepted there  -i suspect that is because i don't go there with the intention of seeing who i can piss off

i'd hang on to Kuyt, whilst he's not prolific he brings another of those options that Rafa so likes to have available

Crouch (again, he is not a complete player) does offer a route one option - but it always seems a bit desperate when he comes on

but hell I was shouting when he scored

hopefully Skrtel will add something at the back (shame we won't see Aggar again until next season)

BUT please, please can we just finish off a side! when we get 1 up?!!

Under-pressure Rafa Benitez is reportedly becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of goals from 10million Dutch (miss)hit-man, Dirk Kuyt, and is lining-up a swap-deal involving West Ham United striker Dean Ashton (pictured).

A potential stumbling block for a deal to go ahead is the Hammers valuation of Ashton, thought to be in the region of 17million, but Rafa has several players at his disposal that he is willing to off-load in a multiple swap-deal.

Norwegian John Arne Riise, who has struggled for form this season, is also a target for Newcastles Kevin Keegan, but more importantly, Hammers boss, Alan Curbishley is understood to be a keen admirer of the ginger-winger and could pave the way to broker a deal during the January transfer-window.

Momo Sissoko is also waiting in the Anfield departure lounge but the Mali International wants to ply his trade (which is apparently playing football) in Italy.

.......................................................................
Recently posted on the Kop website. 17 mil for Ashton. Well Spurs paid that for Bent, but I think this is more of a "go away, we dont want to sell him". I remember the first game Kuyt played for the Pool. He scored a cracker. Havent watched them that much this season though, is he really that bad?

Also remeber paying about $2700 to watch the 2006 cup final. Sat down in silence when Gerrard scored. Absolutely draining. Still, thats history now, but I will never forget the atmosphere.

Another post mentioned a straight swap Gerrard - Ronaldinho. How sond is the info on that site?

i was going to mention that cup final urion but it seemed doubly cruel to a self-professed "friendly visitor" after the recent replay

sounds like an amazing outing even if it cost a bit!!

i doubt there's too many on this board who've been to an fa cup final (upside down blue is one other)

Gerrard for Ronaldinho?? As much as I would like to see Ronaldinho at Anfield, I don't getting rid of Gerrard for him is such a good idea (and I do know this is probably only a rumour)

Liverpool have confirmed their 350m refinancing deal and revealed the latest design for their new stadium

Owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have also insisted that they are fully behind manager Rafael Benitez.

"Since the meeting with Rafa on 16 December, Rafa has been assured that he has continuing and enthusiastic support," said Hicks.

"Reflecting that support, Kop Football Holdings (Ltd) recently approved his transfer payment request to sign Martin Skrtel for 6.5m and is in discussions with Rafa and club management regarding additional player signings this summer.

"Rafa is under contract for two more seasons following this season. I am solidly behind Rafa and am confident of the team's competitive prospects under his continuing leadership."

Bearing in mind that i'll delete any posts from trolls, what do people think Rafa will do in terms of a line-up v WHam

along with a few earlier posts I'd like to see Alonso start

and I'd have torres and Kuyt starting up front

not so sure about Skrtel following reports of his performance H&W

Pennant or Kewell??
