I see he investigated the Thai's and Dubai investors who were dodgy but somehow Hicks and Gillet "came up clean"!

Got greedy on the back of the CL win and took a good offer netting him 88m in his own pocket.

I also see it was in the purchasing agreement that NO debt was to be put on the club. How'd that get ignored??

Hicks lashes out...

Apparently the "Club is better off" under himself and Gillet.

"We have no intention of selling any of our top players and we have a substantial transfer budget in place... we will make a significant investment this summer. It's really about getting the right players."

Lies, damn lies.

Texas Rangers have filed for bankruptcy. Rangers and HSG Sports (Hicks) have an Est US $575m debt. Bankruptcy is being used to aid the selling of the club which is to be finalised over the next 6 weeks.

Hicks: "Sports has never been my primary business"

As much as I like to have a dig at the American owners, I don't think they had any say in this. Just seems odd to micro manage.

5 million transfer budget I hear eh. That will suck big time.

that's got to be one of the worst transfer budgets to get given! Almost like before your birthday when you were young and you think your getting a sweet prezzie and then once you unwrap it and it's crap. Almost wish you got nothing at all! Rafa I feel for you on this one!

News of the World  reported, that Liverpool have 5m to spend. Although no source reported by them and another report has the figure at 15. Again no source with this one too.

That photo makes it look like the Kop end could do with a coat of paint.
Also is that your new striker to replace Torres?

Hang on a sec... if the board have just sacked Rafa that would mean our new Chairman (Mr Chelski) would had to have been at the forefront of any final decision? Isn't his job purely to sell the Club and not get involved in dealings??

I guess this is another step from the Yanks to get Rafa out and have someone more submissive and cheaper to replace him...

Had to happen, but still sad to see the guy go under the circurmstances.

Absolutely the right decision though, now just need to get rid of Tweedle Dumber & Tweedle Dumber and we can start re-building.

Who do you support again?

Three for me, and two for them.

With the amount of debt we have, I bet Kenny will take over as he will be cheap

I hope not. Even though we'll be strapped for cash, we shouldn't be sacrificing what little quality we have.
