Would you guys love that if Rafa came back?

I rate him as a manager and he seemed very well respected by your lot after he had gone

Hmmm...not sure. He's a decent manager but his record doesn't set the world on fire and let's not forget he sold Alonso and tried to replace him with Aquilani and also brought in (shudder) Glennis Johnson.

On the flip side, he did convince Stevie G to stay, win a CL and argue with the owners who were doing little to take the club forward. He also implied Chelski fans were plastic which was a good laugh.

I honestly don't know but wonder what he could do with the level of support FSG seem to want to give their managers and the club rather than seeing it as a cash cow.

You obviously don't know what was going on at N/castle. Pardew is better off out of there.

How is Brown Bag Harry under no pressure whatsoever? He's on course for what must be his 53rd relegation from the top flight. Absolute charlatan. Do QPR fans not care or something? Weird.

Three for me, and two for them.

Wow, so times have changed since this post.

First half of season - avg 1.47 points per game, 1.37 goals per game and 1.32 goals conceded.

Since the new year - avg 2.43 points per game, 1.71 goals per game, 0.57 goals conceded.

New formation seems to be working well even without Lucas around who was the last piece of chewing gum keeping us together for a while there. Stevie G hardly featuring, Emre Can has stepped up and Coutinho has gone next level.

Edit: I'm aware some of this should be in the LFC thread but I was on a roll.

Heard on BBC World Service last night he got right bollocking from the fans during the Villa game. All 5 board members were agreed he should go soon after match ended. Dick Advocaat the favourite to succeed.

Now that Klopp is available, does that make other managers jobs more at risk?

  • Wrong kind of manager for City but likely destination
  • Would be great for Liverpool but I believe FSG will stick with Rodgers although this may hinge on FA Cup/4th place
  • Newcastle? No way.
  • Arsenal maybe?

Would imagine he's already signed with City which is the reason for this morning's announcement. Will be officially announced after the season.

It feels like he'd be the wrong kind of person for that role and for that club full of some big egos but possibly a strategy to not only win a few things but also appeal to Joe Public

I know that Tuchel is not as big a name as Klopp outside of Germany but is rightly favourite for the Dortmund job and surprised, maybe his choosing, that his name is not mentioned for decent managerial positions elsewhere. At times I wonder if he is actually better than Klopp; comparing Klopp's Mainz and Tuchel's Mainz, Tuchel wins.

City will always want a big name in there whether it's the right person or not. Image is as important to them as performance.

It's a managerial merry-go-round of epic proportions!

  • Ancelloti available (City?)
  • Benitez available (looks like Real)
  • Klopp available (Liverpool if BR gets the chop - JK says he is taking a 6 month break)
  • Di Matteo available (West Ham, Watford?)
  • Fat Sam available (McDonalds?)
  • Moyes linked with West Ham but insists he's happy in Spain.

If you were a promoted team looking to stay up at all costs, Fat Sam would be a good bet.

Board fell out with him over 1. mid season sideline incident 2. now post-season hotel-room incident (probably sided bit too much with his son).

Here's a rumour.

There have been talks from LFC with a manager who is currently on sabbatical but it's NOT Klopp. Other rumours would indicate it is actually Ancelotti who they also talked to in summer but were stalled due to a knee operation he needed to have.

Do with that what you will. At first look, Ancelotti would be brilliant and has plenty of pedigree but is he right for LFC if it is true?

Bielsa is also available... I don't know if you'd say he's on sabbatical though.

It's a fair question and not even going to try and given an answer for fear of an Arsenal poll on the subject.

Can some one please take care of Chris Ramsey for us before he completely screws the club up? 2 wins in 18 games (Includes EPL games as well) ....

Warnock Championship first 9 games , 8 clean sheets and 2 goals conceded, he knew how to sort out a defence in this League.

Redknapp Championship first 9 games, 7 clean sheets and 2 goals conceded, he knew how to sort a defence out in this league.

Ramsey, well what can one say , 17 goals conceded one clean sheet, sadly he doesnt.

When I say defence, I mean defence/midfield as the two both contribute to leaking goals. Players have to put a shift in and defend in all positions. Sadly doesnt happen under Ramseys team.

I know its not good for stability to keep changing Managers but we arent going forward at the minute.  #outofhisdepth
