Sir Alex is the best manager in the world end of story. All you need to do is look at the amount of trophys hes won with United.

Another great display this morning from Man Utd with a 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Edwin van der Sar was rested so Tomasz Kuszczak returned in goal, but spent much of the evening admiring a virtuoso United attacking display.

Great to see Rooney back scoring goals again

I thought Cristiano's goal was special. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe that man, he really is astounding. And his general play to set up those other goals just showed what a complete player he is. Now we go get a draw (at least) in Rome! Good luck lads.

wow, just saw the highlights of the man u-villa game and really even i, an extremely biased arsenal fan can appreciate that.all four goals were quite fantastic.

cristiano is the man (even if he was born a girl), and after watching 180 minutes of kaka against arsenal i can say with a fair amount of certainty that he is the best player in the world.

Kaka's world player of the year award was a joke, Messi should of won it hands down. But that's neither here nor there.

Well I figured it probably had something to do with Arsenal (although your avatar might suggest otherwise), hence the question. I didn't recognise any of them in that photo, to be honest!

Edit: I get my own byline! Although perhaps "not as old as you think I am" might be a better one?

Thanks Uber, I'm well aware of that now. (A case of familiar names, unfamiliar faces I guess).

@HN: Since you added the byline I've lost my avatar and have to keep logging in again to make a post...any particular reason for this?

Fair enough, i didn't recognise Bould at first but definately knew the other three. Oh, and my new avatar have nothing to do with Arsenal whatsoever.

Unlike some Manure fans , yes I do thanks. Being a 33 year fan of the richest club in the world  allows me to have a full life where I am known by a name and not just another number for example: number 67,850.

And just to clarify. I do acknowledge that Ronaldo has some brilliant skills, speed  and gets hacked down too often , but I still think he cheats by going down quicker than a $2 hooker and cry babying far too often   when he could show up opposition players by using the aforementioned skills, speed and talent.

While at it, good to see business as usual in the Old Trafford dug-out!.................From Soccernet.com

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson and assistant manager Carlos Queiroz have been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association.

The charges relate to comments made following United's FA Cup defeat to Portsmouth last month.

Ferguson's charge concerns comments about referee Martin Atkinson and Professional Game Match Officials (PGMO) general manager Keith Hackett.

Queiroz's charge relates to comments about Atkinson.

Both parties have until April 17 to respond to the charge.

Speaking after Sulley Muntari's penalty gave Pompey a shock victory at Old Trafford, Ferguson felt United had earlier had a blatant spot-kick denied when Cristiano Ronaldo was blocked by Sylvain Distin.

'It's absolutely ridiculous,' said Ferguson, whose side were denied the chance to repeat their 1999 treble success.

'I cannot explain it. Managers get sacked because of things like that and he's going to referee a game next week.'

He added: 'He (Hackett) is not doing his job properly and he needs to be assessed.

'I'm assessed as a manager, players are assessed, referees should be assessed properly by the right people. That performance today should not be accepted by our game.'

Wigan netted a late equaliser to snatch a 1-1 draw and leave Chelsea's title hopes hanging by a thread.

that isnt alltogether that suprising really, i would expect he's probably looking for a right back, just in the same instance he got nani and anderson to evetually replace giggs n scholes, the same must be done for neville. van der sars covered.

especially with wes brown potentially leaving at the end of the season as he has yet to resign. This has been his best season by a long shot due to nevilles continued problems but i think its more a case of an average player looking good in a great team more so than him been a fantastic player. I hope he stays because hes english and been through the youth system but im sure SAF will find a more than capable replacement if Brown thinks hes worth more than what he is being offered.

yeah i think your last sentence is key there, it seems like the amount of gametime he's got this year is causing his supposed wage demands.. which is frustrating.

Good to see the Hull City thread was above this one

What a waste of what could have been an excellent match. SAF really f'd up today, and realy wasted aloy of players on that field. I saw nothing of park, rooney, tevez apart from when they were messing up. Worst game of football i have seen the mancs play. Positives - carrick seemed the only one keen on winning, as did ronaldo when he wasn't falling over. Barcalona owned, but in a fashion similar to arsenal, could not get out what they had put in. perhaps henry should have come on earlier, as he was willing to get that shot off.

Didn't think I'd say it but the chelski pool game was even better. Tight situation next week, i think barca will get at least one away at OT.

Up at 6 + that game =

From soccernet.com....

Ronaldo insisted he should have been awarded a second penalty later in the first half when he was bundled over by Rafael Marquez. 'I think he touched me,' he said. 'But the referee didn't give a penalty. I don't know why, I don't understand.' .......

That's easy to answer - She fell over, She fell over! She fell over, She fell over! A hip tackle that would have got him one, but his reputation is starting to now catch up. All those fake dives will cost him and United in the future.

Why the f**k are we on the 3rd page? United in the final of the CL and looking like we will definately win the title and we have all gone silent.

WIgan this weekend im a bit nervous about this one only due to the fact that there pitch is absolute sh*te! is it still in the condition it was when arsenal played there and didnt win?

You just know Wigan are going to nick a point. I'm not being smart. It would be too easy if United won 2 or 3 nil and sewed the title up and then go to Moscow in good spirits.

The God of Football won't allow that.

Wigan to draw 1-1 and then Chelski will be leading 1-0 with 30 seconds left on the clock and Bolton will get a penalty. They have to score to stay up....What happens next???
