Brentford on Sunday, so I expect some wanky 1-0 loss and an xG of 0.05 or something.

You have to think that these sorts of stats mean there will be a managerial change in the summer

I just don't see how any manager on earth fixes this.

The players are bottle jobs. None of them can handle the pressure. The culture in the dressing room must be totally shot - even Varane and Casemiro have succumb and now look like deers in headlights.

Today it wasn't Dalot's nonsense attempt at defending, or the total failure to mark Palmer, it was that the second we went up 3-2 we could string two passes together.

Not defending ETH, but the core of this squad needs to be torn out and replaced, simply for not being able to hack it. It's almost at the point where you'd genuinely do better replacing the entire squad with a championship team (that display an ounce of grit) and sprinkling a couple of marquee signings on top.

Wow two pens in the space of a couple of minutes 10th and 11th minutes of added time - talk about losing your head at crucial moments.

Think that used to be called "Fergie time." Feels a little unbelievable to be leading in the 99th minute twice in 4 days and end up with 1 point from the 2 games.

I can 100% see how a new manager fixes this. the lack of a functional system and cohesion for 100 minutes does not allow players to perform to their appropriate levels and then individual qualities come through.
I wont excuse Dalot's challenge or no one pressing at the corner but when you are a mess for the rest of the game, you cant expect players to stand up in moments

Was surprised he didn’t pull Anthony and switch Garnacho over to the right with Rashford on the left and possibly McT or Bruno through the middle. A 4th goal would’ve buried them. It wasn’t like watisname for Newcastle against West Ham. The goals they got were tinny, not pure class.

@prof 4th goal not a pen. United committed everyone forward to find a winner and on the return counter a shot from outside the box deflected past the keeper.

It would have been crazy to plot Bruno’s self belief on a chart during that game. Down and up and up and down…And Anthony-the pen,  so upset about a ball he’d fought for and thought he’d won being a goal kick not a corner…then some great play and…

Have to be honest I wanted them to win that and I was kinda gutted they didn’t.

accoding to what I can find from the interweb Palmer scored three, two pens at 90+10 and 90+11

C. Palmer (19' Pen, 90'+10' Pen, 90'+11')

It was off a corner, it was also inside the box.

Ignoring the on field shambles for the time being I just finished reading this book
The Worlds Biggest Cash Machine
Manchester United , the Glazers ,and the Struggle for Footballs Soul
Chris Blackhurst
Got it from the auckland Library
Its a history of the ownership of Manchester United from formation to 2023.
I always knew that the Glazers were bad owners but this really opened my eyes to how dodgy they are , and the fact that they are not even that rich
Just use heaps of borrowed money and suck cash out of the operation.
It was illuminating to read of some of the financial instruments they use.
It was also very relevant to read how they ran down thir US assets - caravan parks and shopping malls.Sound familiar with the problems with Old Trafford.
The book finishes before the completion of Jim Ratcliffes partial purchase but the overwhelming thing you were left with was that while the Glazers have any part of the ownershipthings will not improve and that will translate on the pitch.
Left me feeling very pessimistic about United's future.
On field shambles - winning the FA cup may save Ten Haag .Would not b e surprised if Coventry won the semi.No idae who would replace him anyway.Massive rebuild job required on and off the field

Makes you realise how awesome the Nix owners are.

Watching that pen given for handball should cause absolute bloody riots in Nottingham after the performance of the ref and VAR against Everton. Shocker United let 3 in after they went up, but that handball seems identical to the Ashley Young one Forest were denied.

Amazing. United could still theoretically win the whole thing after that.

Didn’t think Hojlund had that. Decisive final pen. Onana has done well too. Him and Bruno with some A grade chat there. Reminded me of Fleming on Graeme Smith.

The penalty shootout was very clinical in the end. Everything the game wasn’t!  Casemiro marking Haaland could be interesting.

Not to mention Grealish for City yesterday.
