Can't remember the last time we played  when no one had a bad game. It saying that, Everton were poor by their standard but it was still pleasing to see that we played some good football, scored some good goals and kept a clean sheet-- thanks to three excellent saves from De Gea. The press seemed to thing Smalling was the MOM and I can't disagree too much with that but I thought that Schneiderlin had his best game this season. Looking forward to the City game next week although recovering from the flight to Russia might be tough.

One could say the same about a few managers. I guess he is doing the job his way.  He is not my cup of tea as a person but as long as he gets the results then that is OK.

Yeah when you think of Mouriniho, (sp?), Sherwood, Fat Sam, Wenger, etc there ain't many that come across as particularly nice people.

The Bournemouth guy seems about the best of them.

Another game where all the players were pretty reasonable. First half was boring but City  looked the better side but in the second half we could have pinched it as we were much the better side. City came for a point and I'm sure they will be glad with the result. When they are back to full strength there won't be a team to get near them, although in saying that if we can pick up a striker in January or move Rooney from the number 9 we will have a chance.

It's easy to be likeable when no one expects you to win anything.

You might be a little surprised if you looked at the honours of the Arsenal players these days. 

A few of them have certainly won things that Wayne Rooney will never win e.g. World Cups, FA Cups, La Ligas, Bundesligas, South American Championships, European Championships and more.

I got rid of the toys when I left primary school  He maybe not be playing well at the moment, but he is still the captain of Utd and England.

The point is that most of the Woolwich supporters mock players from other teams. Must be a prerequisite to filling out the  Woolwich application form.

So one person uses it as the name of his blog (while still calling the club Arsenal in the articles). The club dropped "Woolwich" from its name in 1914. Just as United changed its name from Newton Heath in 1902.

Are you actually claiming that you use the word Woolwich for a reason aside from mocking Leggy?

Regardless of what you think I have never used Woolwich to mock Arsenal.  Obviously most of you have very short memories as I have explained this more than once. 

My father was from Deptford which in the early days was the backbone of Woolwich Arsenal. He used to go to the games when he was a kid and when I was very young I always remembered him talking about Woolwich.

Up until the day he died he always used to to call his team Woolwich.

AJ and dickhead Arsenal assume I am mocking. If you think that I could care less, but then my wife  knows more about football than those two.

I have also answered this question before. When I was a kid I used to buy the Tiger magazine and they would have postcard size team photos of all the football teams. I collected the whole set- don't know how many there were nut in those days you had 3rd Div north and south. I used to look through these every day and I guess listening to the English football results every Sunday morning I just came to picking Utd. My father was certainly not upset and in fact seemed to be pleased that I was taking an interest in the game.

Mine's a Spurs fan. So is my Mother.

Wow, that could go one of two ways... either a really tough or a really enjoyable upbringing, depending on the cynicism of your parents hahahahaha

Football debates would inevitably turn into arguments. Brother is a United fan so he and my Dad would unite in their shared hatred of Arsenal so it usually tended to be 2 against 1. My Mum was never all that interested until after I'd left home and Spurs started challenging for top 4 but now she watches all the games. That season they were way ahead of us and should have finished above us only to collapse in the run in she was texting me every week with things like "still 3rd," "super Bale again" etc. I never reacted until the final day of the season and we finished above them so sent a simple "mind the gap."

Worst performance this season. Only two players were good and both of them were subs-- Young and Lingard. Not sure what these managers are thinking as it is fine to have lots of possession but going sideways and back all the time is pretty pointless. You have to score goals to win. On the odd occasion we were a bit more direct we looked good. Lucky at the end of the day.Rooney was reported as saying that Smalling was in the top 3 defenders in Europe.   A call to Specsavers should be on his agenda.

Whilst for the most part this season we have defended well, the current team setup is not giving absolutely anything going forward.

With Rooney playing at the top of the pitch, as seen against Crystal Palace, oppo defenders know that he's rarely going to do them for pace, so they're able to sit nice and high up the pitch and squeeze us in our own half.

Martial really needs to be up top, because defenders won't be able to press high on him for the fear of him getting in behind. Rooney should play as a number 10 and unfortunately for Herrera this mean he misses out. 

LVG needs to release the shackles on the likes of Depay and just let him express himself. He's best going forward running at players, but seems to be everytime this season he's had someone isolated it's like an invisible leash is pulling him back.

Good result but a pretty poor performance all round. Good to see  LVG using academy players. 

The defence  is still poor even though we kept a clean sheet. Still ball watching and unable to coordinate things especially from corners and fee kicks. 3 points the most important thing I guess.

Once again a good result but not pretty to watch and lots of players let themselves down. Interesting to see the difference in player ratings from scribe to scribe. Not sure how one player can get an 8 and from another paper a 5. Only three players did themselves no harm. Blind, De Gea and Schneiderlin. Any of the top six would have beaten us this morning. Our defense is still rubbish as is one or two others from the results.

2nd in the league is for most a great thing but I am one of those fans who absolutely hate the style of football we play. This is the most boring style of football we have played since I started watching Utd in the early 60's, even worse than under Sexton.

Sadly LVG's sycophantic followers only care about results and are blind to his dull, uninspiring football that has chucked a great big handbrake on the players and teams ability to be expressive and attack. We now have an entire team who receive the ball with an intent to pass sideways or backwards, most coaches of even junior and youth teams try and get the kids to receive with an intent to play forward.

Cant wait till he fudges off

Hopefully people will start to realise that United's defense is of the highest quality at the moment - and keeping the ball for long periods of time is part of that. 

Just wait until a striker comes into form - yes we are still waiting Rooney - but as soon as that happens it will come good. Just imagine if Lingard had scored half of the chances he has had the past few games. It would be a much different story.

Are you really sure of the defence?. If it wasnt for DDG then the league position would be much different. Some of his saves this season have been superhuman. DDG is papering over some of the cracks. We are using converted wingers for fullbacks, Darmian has lost his spot to a converted winger, even to the extent of using Phil Jones instead of Darmian at right back. We are really fudgeing dull. Possession football is fine with a purpose but ours is lacking in intent and we offer little threat in the final third.

Worst football Utd have played in 50 years as far as my experience goes. Moyes was sharke and a massive mistake  but  under Moyes we didnt see most of our possession happening in our own half. Utter dross. LVG is making Sexton look like a blood and thunder attacking manager. Thats says a lot.

Do the current Man Utd team that is second in the table is worse than the Man Utd team in the early 70's that got relegated from Division 1?

This is the thing. Im talking about style of play, attacking intent. 2nd in table is great, we are simply dull and boring to watch.  Yes more boring to watch than the team that got relegated.  I was there for those years, the football back then was far more exciting even if we were a sharke team. We would be the dullest footballing side in the EPL right now even in 2nd place.
