Let's get rid of the gaffer.

The players have to take some blame. A lot of them are hiding and many are not good enough.

Keep blaming the players.... LVG is the one who trimmed the squad so far back that he is relying on youth team players to cover injuries. LVG is the guy who has spent a massive amount of money and left us weak in certain areas. LVG is the guy who keeps playing Rooney who game after game after game is sub standard. LVG is the guy who sets the tactical approach and the style of football that lacks intent, pace or imagination. LVG is the guy who has a team which creates close to half the number of chances Fergies side created but even more damning he is the guy who sets out a team which creates less chances per game that Moyes did.

Hey but thats all ok, lets blame the players. He bought them, he picks them, he tells them the style of play to play.

LVG is becoming as much of a joke as Moyes was.

The only players that LVG bought in last nights game were Memphis, Blind  and Martial. I agree with most of your comments, but a lot of those last night were hiding and had no guts.

Large Manchester United forums, usually filled with kids born this side of the century, are getting raging boners about Mourinho being bought in.

I just needed to come somewhere I slightly respected opinions to say that these people are fudgeing stupid.

One of the largest has nearly 70% saying no to Mourinho in a poll so think your fears are unfounded.

Changing  LVG for a another manager will not solve the problem. I said this months ago that Utd were  not good enough. Again he had three players that he signed on the park. If the players you have don't have the talent then getting rid of the manager is going to do nothing. The Chelsea situation is completely different. There they have a lot of class players- Utd have very few of those.

LVG does not get off lightly with me either, as his team selection in my opinion is poor. I said to my wife before KO that the team starting was not good enough and that was the case. We just don't know how to defend. Fellaini and Carrick in the midfield was never going to work. Mata is a waste of space, and Rooney is not a number 9.  The two central defenders were the worst players on the pitch.

The only way to improve this side is to sign 4/5 classy players, and sell the duds.

He's spent sh*tloads on what were supposed to be your quality players, and they've either become deadwood or been turfed out already. Now he's resorted to starting Moyes' signings.

The only two young player he spent money on are Memphis and Martial. I guess they were for the future-- I think they have one. Very few quality players are as young as that. What he has to do is spend big on proven players.

As least Martial has ability as he was voted Europes best  young player.

He spent 60mil on Di Maria and turfed him out after 12 months because he was sharke.

Others he's spunked big on:

Luke Shaw - 30 mil - pretty sure he counts as a young player too

Ander Herrera - 29 mil

Marcos Rojo - 20 mil

He also turfed out a striker who could be making a difference right now if he was still at the club.

But no, it's all Moyes, honest...

Rojo is out injured, as is Shaw and Herrera has just come back. Point is if all the players were fit we would be a lot stronger.

The striker he turfed out had a chance in the last pre season and he missed a sitter and a penalty. He was shocking. I would have kept him but that is the way things go.You can't be right every time.

The thing is, they're not sharke players - they've proven that prior to, and since, being at United. LvG simply wasn't able to get the best out of them consistently. There's a difference.

Whether the reason is the manager, the environment, the city - whatever... signing good players is easy. Signing the right players for your club/environment at the right time is markedly less so... and that's Utd's challenge. Will a manager change be enough? Who knows... but it's not always one change that's enough.

So are you saying that 3/4 players that I don't think are good enough would get in the Arsenal side? I don't think so.

I can see what you're all saying but outside of Di Maria, Falcao is shark. Herrera, Rojo and Shaw (the latter of whom was playing fantastic) have all been injured. Martial is playing as well as expected and Memphis still looks full of potential.

Di Maria is the exception and I don't think we would have got rid of him, I believe he just didn't want to live in Manchester (house robbed, etc) and didn't go about leaving the right way (which is completely understandable - look at the ratty cod)

Fellaini on the other hand is still shark and shouldn't be starting for the reserves.

Or is it the quiet voice of Ryan Giggs "Sir Alex would not have done it like this" to undermine things?

It just gets better and better................

Chelsea could have to pay Jose Mourinho while he manages English Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Mourinho is the favourite to replace United manager Louis van Gaal, but may have to accept a pay cut to take over at Old Trafford.

Chelsea gave Mourinho a new contract worth around £10 million (NZ$21.9m) a year in August, but the Portuguese could expect about £6m a season to succeed Van Gaal. Under the terms of his Stamford Bridge departure, it is believed Mourinho will continue to be paid by Chelsea until he finds another job.

It is also understood, however, that Chelsea will have to make up the shortfall in any wage cut Mourinho accepts at a new club until the end of this season.

That could mean that Chelsea have to pay Mourinho around £1.5m to manage United if he replaces Van Gaal early in the new year. Both Mourinho's camp and Chelsea refused to comment on the terms of the 52-year-old's departure. But the prospect of Chelsea paying him while in charge of United will anger Stamford Bridge fans, who did not want Mourinho to be sacked and showed their support for him during last week's victory over Sunderland.

The possibility of Mourinho replacing Rafa Benitez at Real Madrid before the end of the season and Chelsea topping up the wages of the Portuguese at the Bernabeu would be more palatable.

Reports in Spain claim Benitez could be sacked -before Real's next game at home to Real Sociedad on January 30 and that President Florentino Perez has already made enquiries about taking Mourinho back to the club. Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink expressed his sympathy for both Mourinho, who he has replaced, and fellow Dutchman Van Gaal.

"The titles he won, many titles," said Hiddink. "Lots of respect for that. But, nevertheless, things happen in football and people take the decision they've taken."

On Van Gaal, he added: "They [United] are struggling as well, that's for sure. That also has much to do with the improving Premier League."

I find myself wondering what exactly Fellaini's role in this squad is: a liability. He can't control a football, he can't pass a football, he can't defend, he can't do anything a CM should be able to do and today we saw that he can't header a ball either. Seriously get rid of the turd.

If Carrick (Schweini injured) started today we would have FINALLY seen the best 11 players playing in (arguably) their best positions. Fudge sakes.

Have to laugh at that. I think rubbish is being kind. Only player that was of any use was De Gea, the rest were an embarrassment.
