Who is talking about Celtic, or paranoia?

I suppose you think McGregor was headbutted in that clip do you?!

Disastrous morning for Scottish football.

Only one club left in Europe, and the chances are that they'll get arse raped, no lube required, in the Champions League.

Yikes.

Sadly it's pretty much business as usual then!

Luckily the future looks bright with all these young players Levein has called up to the Scotland squad. Oh wait a minute...

No he wasn't headbutted. It is unfortunately indemic in the modern game and all clubs have players who do it, because they gain an advantage. It is down to EUFA and the SFA to stamp it out out but they won't, in my view retrospective punishment is the only answer. I won't condone it but it is an issue not constrained to one club or player.

Dundee United were the only team who were sort of respectable against a tough opponent first up.

And then you have a national team manager who claims to have 'not seen it'. An SPL game on TV and he wasn't watching?

He then said it wasn't a problem because it was only at club level.

Craig Levein is a total and utter dickhead.

My guess is he has seen it but he doesn't wan t to get involved in the controversy.

But any manager of any country will be in big trouble if they start dropping players every time they take a dive. It would be pure madness for him to drop McGregor because of it.

(I'm scared)

That was a great performance but a frustrating draw. We should have picked up the three points.

Lithuania only had one shot on goal the entire game and that was thanks to a foul on David Weir that the ref missed.

Ah well, bring on the mighty Liechtenstein!

Agreed. Missed a couple of good chances. Disappointing.

I had forgotten how nerve-racking it is to be a Scotland fan. Check out the goals from Hampden Park including a last gasp 97th minute winner!

Thankfully Lithuania did us a favour by winning away to the Czech Republic.

We were seconds away from the worst performance in our international history and that comes on top of yet another dismal year for our Club teams in Europe. Our international and club standings are the worst they have ever been and they are still heading South! The best Scotland had to offer from this generation of "professional footballer's" were almost humbled and were without doubt humiliated by a very poor Liechtenstein side rated one-hundred and forty-first in the world rankings. A country with a population of thirty-three thousand, could pull together a team of part-timers that matched Scotland's finest. It's a joke

Have you forgotten that we are the proud nation who once drew with those footballing giants the Faroe Islands?

From grass-roots, through the juniors, through the senior leagues right up to the national team the game in Scotland is farcical. There are too many snouts and only one very small trough ... it is just not sustainable and the longer we try the worse the situation is becoming. Do we really need an SFA, an SPL and SFL to run our over subscribed and bloated game? I would suggest not two leagues of twelve/fourteen teams, a hierarchical underbelly similar to England's, one governing body and summer football to attract television and gambling investment. The current set-up is failing and failing miserably.

I was wondering were there more than 33,000 Scottish folks at Hampden Park? So was the crowd at the match larger than the opponent nation's entire population?

A quote from Craig Levein (bbc.co.uk/scotland) before the game:

"But what we'll come up against is a team that will be as well-organised as they possibly can. Last year, England had to wait until late on to get a goal against them."

I hate to compare us with England, as they have ten times as many people to choose from.

However, if they struggled against Liechtenstein almost as much as we did then why all this doom and gloom?

Hmm, England beat Andorra 2-0 in Barcelona (Joe Cole with a double in the first 10 minutes of the second half) and 6-0 at Wembley.

Doesn't look as if they were losing the game/s at any point, and needed a 97th minute winner (from the advertised 5 minutes of added time I might add) to claim the points. But I don't know, that could just be me.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about. We won,and from what I can gather we should have won by more.  Historically, we have carved out a deserved reputation for tripping up against 'smaller' teams and then over achieving against more powerful opposition (sometimes!).

Also find it mildly amusing that supporters of one of the 'Ugly Sisters' is wailing about the state of Scottish football.

Sorry, but what the heck has England vs Andorra got to do with anything? Braveheart talked about the recent England vs Liechtenstein match which was 0-0 after an hour and England won 2-0.

And back to the Scotland match - 2-1 win isn't that much worse than England's 2-0 win over the same "minnows" ?

Good result for Gers in Europe.

Three for me, and two for them.

See the old Rangers "park the bus" tactic was used to good effect at Old Trafford. Was a good result for them though.

And if Bursaspor are as bad as their first result would indicate, staying in Europe into the second half of the season is a good possibility.

Dundee's money man Melville has left. Best two players (Griffiths & Harkins) were rumoured to be paid directly by him - doubt they can afford them... A wee bit scared for future now.

Oh dear, how sad!   We'll get some cash out of the deal if you sell Harkins on

Least you had it for a while, we're sitting bottom of the league, got no money and are deep, deep in the sh*t. There are some major fears about our future at the moment.

On the other hand, our Chairman and Vice Chairman have just jumped ship (before they got pushed), so things might be looking up.

Aw, flippin' typical. While we were being called the Chelsea of Scotland (which was always over-the-top anywaay), buying players etc - we weren't even paying our tax bills and other creditors. Could go into administration for second time in seven years. Idiots.

Scottish football is in a bit of a state isn't it.

I see only 15k turned out for Aberdeen v Rangers. 10 years ago it would of sold out.

six games gone and the old firm are a massive eight pts clear already, and motherwell and hearts sitting in 3rd and 4th respectively, havent even got a home win between them!the arabs & the dons as well as the edinburgh teams are now imo so poor/dreadful whatever way you want to put it,that they have brought scottish football to an all time low.no wonder the old firm attendances at home are well below what they used to be only a few yrs ago.already we can see that the glasgow derbies this season,( and rangers participation in the champions league) are going to be the only highlights of this poorly structured spl.woudnt know where to start to revamp it, but anything would be better than the dross the old firm come across week after week, season after season.and not forgetting our woeful national teams attempts to reach the euro/world finals!

You poor thing. Other teams not good enough for you to play against? Shame. Sooner both halves of The Ugly Sisters f**k off to mid table obscurity in the EPL, the better. Probably kill the game off in Scotland but at least we won't have to listen to patronising drivel like this. I'm sorry, but are you seriously trying to suggest that the state Scottish football is currently in is due to everybody else BUT Celtic and Rangers? Do me a favour.
