Similar comments from Dundee fans:

"Another triumph of substance over style for Dundee. Still, style won't get you out of this division - today's opponentsare very easy on the eye, but they'll never play their way into the SPL, they're badly requiring some steel in their ranks"

Sounds like you guys weren't creating enough, despite your "pretty passing football". Still a bit concerning for us that we aren't playing a bit better - was hoping we'd dominate the game against yeas a bit more this time. But as you say, sometimes it's just about grinding out these results to get wins. Will be really distraught if we don't get promotion this season - we really should. And should be capable of sticking around as we have the money to bring in more good players. Then we can maybe stop the give it to Harkins mentality!
22 Feb 10:18 · edited 09 Sep 05:14
Yeah, sad but true for us. Although from what I hear Jackie McNamara did a good job of keeping Harkins pretty quiet. It was always gonna be a 3 - 5 year thing for us anyway, so we've still got a bit to go yet. Big problem for us is that we haven't got a sugar daddy to throw money at us. I think you've got to buy yourself out of the 1st Division, and I don't mean that in an insulting way. Just that if you want to win it, you have to spend some cash, which we aint got.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Yea, we've done alright with what we had in recent years, got close to top at times, but we wouldn't be where we are without getting someone to invest in the club so we could bring in the players we needed. True with just about every league now I suppose. Oh yea, forgot that you guys brought in Jackie. Must be old now, but I'm sure can do a good job.

Also, who the heck is going to want to chuck money at a team with strips like you guys!! Haha.

I notice not many Celtic fans post on this thread a lot less when they ain't winning anything.

I don;t see how it will change anything.

Scotland has to realise that it's time to stop pumping money into overseas players and pick up the local talent around. At least fund better training for our youngsters.

Could be the beginning of the end of Scottish football as $$ is gone from that 2nd spot..

SB - What clubs are pumping money into foreigners. The most anyone has spent on a foreigner is Celtic with 'foreigner' Robbie Keane.

Rangers haven't bought anyoen since the end of 2008.

Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen, and Dundee Utd are all bring players through their youth systems.

Hibs spent a couple of Million opening their training academy in East Lothian, and that's where Hibs are focussing on getting thier talent, developing it through their youth system.

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

^^^ whoops, i didn't realise that.

I jsut Wiki'd the squad lists and apart from Celtic it's quite impressive the amount of Scots playing..

Shame we're still average

Garry Wood and Scott Boyd were Ross County's heroes as they set up an Active Nation Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic and piled misery on Hibernian with a shock 2-1 win
Its  now 109 years since Hibs last won the Scottish cup

Wher's all the gloating C*ltic fans on the list? They are usually hoatchin all over the list when Rangers loose. The Treble is now over, but considering Rangers have spent less than any other scottish club this season on players a double is a great achievement.  I think Dundee Utd will have too much for Ross County in the final and they will deserve their place in Europe, especially if they don't clinch second spot in the league this season.

Congratulations to the super saints and the ruthless arabs.

I have been lucky enough to see the mighty Ayrshire Killie upset the old farm on many occasions.

Would you agree that it does not get much better than humping the current buns 3-0 at Ibrox? I was there on Saturday 28 October 2000.

yeah, good riddance Mowbray. Season is fooked. Still going to win the Scottish Cup and finish 2nd in the SPL though

Wonder how would Lennon do in the position. Hopefully they would let him carry on next season, not only finish this one and look for someone with bigger name during summer.
