The contenders...
Fulham (27 points)
Liverpool (h), Manchester City (a), Birmingham (h), Portsmouth (a)
Still favourites for the drop. The Birmingham game is massive and in their favour Fulham will face Liverpool this weekend with players likely to be rested ahead of the Champions League semi-final.
Bolton (29 points)
Middlesbrough (a), Tottenham (a), Sunderland (h), Chelsea (a)
Unenviable run-in for Bolton with three very tough away games. They wont want to go to Stamford Bridge on the last day needing a result to stay up. Its quite possible by that time theyll already be down.
Birmingham (31 points)
Aston Villa (a), Liverpool (h), Fulham (a), Blackburn (h)
Will lift themselves for this weekends Midlands derby. Could be a season-defining game against Fulham. A tricky four game run-in.
Reading (32 points)
Arsenal (a), Wigan (a), Tottenham (h), Derby (a)
Three away matches out of four to end the season. Could find themselves in serious trouble if they cant get any points in the next two.
Wigan (34 points)
Chelsea (a), Tottenham (h), Reading (h), Aston Villa (a), Manchester United (h)
Not too many easy points here, although Manchester United may already have clinched the title by the time they visit on the final day.
Sunderland (36 points)
Newcastle (a), Middlesbrough (h), Bolton (a), Arsenal (h)
Seven points clear of the drop with four games to go should see Sunderland stay up, although theyll want that confirmed before Arsenal visit on the last day.
Middlesbrough (36 points)
Bolton (h), Sunderland (a), Portsmouth (h), Manchester City (h)
Counting against Boro is the fact that all four teams they have to face have something to play for; the first two are in the relegation battle, the last two are in the hunt for Europe. Three games at home though should see them pick up enough points to stay clear of trouble.
Newcastle (39 points)
Sunderland (h), West Ham (a), Chelsea (h), Everton (a)
Only a slim mathematical chance of going down and three points from these four games will ensure their survival.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH
Two games to go.here are the contenders...
Fulham (30 points, GD -25)
Birmingham (h), Portsmouth (a)
Massive game this weekend. Lose = gone. Even with a win, would probably need to repeat the dose on the final day to stay up.
Birmingham (32 points, GD -17)
Fulham (a), Blackburn (h)
Beating Fulham would both seal the fate of the Londoners and go a long way to keeping Birmingham up.
Reading (33 points, GD -28)
Tottenham (h), Derby (a)
Should beat Derby and could nick a draw at home to Spurs. That would probably be enough.
Bolton (33 points, GD -20)
Sunderland (h), Chelsea (a)
Lets assume they wont get anything at Chelsea, meaning this Saturday takes on huge importance. A loss would put them right back in the sh*t.
Middlesbrough (36 points, GD -19)
Portsmouth (h), Manchester City (h)
Advantage of two home games. One win will keep them up. Should be fine.
Wigan (37 points, GD -17)
Aston Villa (a), Manchester United (h)
Two tough games could see them marooned on 37 points. Would be tremendously unlucky if all of Birmingham, Reading, Bolton and Boro went past them, but it could happen.

.A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen
Normo's coming home
Yep, great scrap from the Cottagers. And they've got Pompey in the last game, where Harry will probably look to save his best players for the FA Cup final, so that could be a very winnable game for them.
They would of deserved if they couldn't have beaten a sunderland team with nothing to play for at home.
fulham and birmingham will go down because they won't get more than a draw where as reading will win against derby. If fulham win though they stay up what a huge comeback that would be but i'm sticking with birmingham and fulham.bolton wanderer2008-05-05 22:18:06
