I honestly cannot tell you how brilliant this kid is. I've watched him a lot at this tournament and in La Liga last season, and he is absolutely magnificent. I'm envious that you're after him haha. He was one of the key players for Sociedad to make Champion's League. Real Madrid want him to replace Alonso.

He plays a defensive role, but he's technically suberb, and can really push forward into the heart of the midfield. He's very mobile, he can play short passes like it's nobody's business, but his longer passing is equally as good (which he isn't afraid to do).

He's honestly boss as fudge and would add so much to your team.

Same here.  Stoke City at home the day before I leave. Fulham away on the 24th of August. My cousin who I'm staying with is a Fulham season ticket holder. Really hoping this game gets moved to Sunday as I'm going to the rugby league Challenge Cup final on the Saturday so will clash.

Is the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley? What time is kick-off?

If the Fulham game is the saturday early kick-off you could make both

Permalink Permalink

Challenge Cup final at Wembley at 2-30pm :(

I can't see the Fulham game getting moved to Sunday either as we have the Champions League qualifier 2nd leg on 27/28th of August so would mean a short turnaround.

News this morning that we've apparently locked in Higuain for 130,000 per week, and are finalising RM fee for 22m.

Apparently we also enquired about Carroll, but bailed because of the figures. If he flopped at Liverpool why would we have entertained the idea?

Additionally we're giving up on Ashley Williams because he'll cost 10m (thank goodness).

G4L www.arsenalnewzealand.co.nz

These guys are the official Arsenal fan club and can buy tickets for NZ fans before the red zone members get access, Arsenal has a certain amount of tickets they allocate to fan clubs globally through officially affiliated clubs!

I've had really positive feedback about them securing me tickets to the NLD, so we'll wait and see :)

Bizarre on both counts. Carroll is still a good player to be fair, think he will do well this year at West Ham (in the right 'system'). But, not sure why you lot would want him haha. Higuain will do very well. Goals, goals, goals. Especially in front of Cazorla.

Surge, please define 'one donkey' - there's a plethora of squad members to choose from...

I'm hopeful we don't spend any money on Williams.  He is not better than what we have.  Currently he is a big fush in a small bowl.  If he joins us he's a much smaller fush in a mediumer sized bowl.

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

He was only loaned as far as I know.

Yeah just a loan, even David Gold tweeted what a mistake it was bringing him in on loan lol

Looks inreasingly like Julio Cesar was just a rumour, we don'y even appear to be chasing a keeper.

Higuain is 90% there only barrier is new RM manager coming in may want to keep him - gee I hope not.

Clement Grenier staying at Lyon for another year.

Sanogo signed just not officially made public.

Rooney is defintley just a rumour

Victor Wanyama must have been just rumour too

Lastly I wouldn't be suprised if we get Fellaini, or go damn close

Permalink Permalink

Seeing rumours that Fellaini is keen - just a matter of whether we want to spend the dosh.

Higuain and Fellaini? That'd do me.

Yeah it amazes me! even the others on the panel give him heaps for being anti Wenger for really very few reasons, every Gunners discussion Robson turns it into "When Arsenal get a new Manager with fresh ideas in..."
He is a joke - I personally think Wenger can build this squad to bring trophies in but there are some that want him gone, and there is some logic to that too, however Robson is over the top!

I enjoy Paul Mariner as he says it as he sees it but leaves emotion and personal interest at the door, good to see everyone else stick up for Mertersacker
On that "get rid of list" was Mertersacker, Rosicky (another season left at least), Podolski (great squad player) Fabianski (happy with him as number 2) and Arteta - I just had to laugh

Totally agree on Diaby (because of injuries) and Gervinho (real team player just not right for the club) and Bendtner

I now cringe when Robson is on, he is ruining a pretty good show

Don't know if anyone else has posted this - but take a second to vote for which EPL team you want Sommet Sports to buy the internet channel rights to so they can broadcast a complete EPL game and other footage every week. (they already have the rights to Chelsea TV)

Sommet Sports are the new sports channel on Freeview in NZ and start broadcasts in a few weeks.

They are broadcasting already temporarily on ch. 114 as a test (though not this weekend due to technical problems - will resume in a few days) - have been broadcasting replays of last seasons' Capital Cup, Europa Lge etc. the last month.

(to find the test channel's transmissions, punch "114" on your remote - or do a re-scan of your UHF box first if necessary)

They will be broadcasting regularly on ch 14 in a few weeks.

VOTE HERE FOR WHICH EPL TEAM'S CHANNEL YOU WANT THEM TO BUY THE RIGHTS TO (scroll down):

https://www.facebook.com/SommetSports

What English Premier League Team TV channel would you like us to buy? (we have Chelsea and we are only allowed one more)

I think we get Arsenal TV for free now don't we? It's part of their digital membership, which actually brings me to my next point. If Arsenal fans get Arsenal TV for free now, including matches etc, why would we bother with Sky/Sommerset any more?

Now, Chamakah. What the heck do we do here? The guy didn't impress on loan at West Ham, do we sell him back to Ligue 1?

We don't get Arsenal TV for free - we get selected content, which does NOT include live games (as this would erode the value proposition for anybody globally buying the rights to show live EPL). If Sommet gets Arsenal TV then great - some may have a massive conundrum (or not, depending how important watching live is to you... in my case, massively).

Another consideration is (again, IF Sommet get ATV) for those of us with Sky and no Freeview - do you pay to get Freeview/ATV or do you pay to get Coliseum?...

The best thing out of all of this is that we have options :-)

I believe we do get arsenaltv for free - they don't show live games on it at all, only delayed games, highlights, interviews and other club-love type stuff. It might be selected content now, but when the season starts it should be free proper. There could be some deluxe option that you can pay for, but no options will get you live-streamed games, it will never be a substitute for Sky/Premierleaguepass.

Stewart Robson, fecken hell, he gets me well rarked up - almost as much as Steve Nicol. I don't think Robson is an arsenal fan by any stretch. He played for us for a while but Graham sent him off to Westham as soon as he came in, in 1986/87. He doesn't know Wenger, never played under him, he's got a personal vendetta against Arsenal it seems, wouldn't be surprised if it's simply because we cut him for being sh*t. Or maybe George Graham kicked him in the nuts? Would explain this sentence from his wikipedia page;

"His time with West Ham was plagued with injuries, particularly to his pelvis."

Any 'get rid of' list Robson has come up with means as much to me as the crayon he used to write it

Stewart Robson having another pop at Wenger

here is the deal Stewart, when Arsenal fans contemplate what you and Wenger did for the club 1 name will be held with considerably higher respect than the other.

If you truly have resentment at the club surely it's better directed at George Graham than Wenger? It wasn't Wenger who made the call THAT YOU WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH to play first team was it?

If arsene can nab another title before he leaves Arsenal he'll have every right to be the smuggiest smug of the smugs

And unless you're an arsenal supporter, my face will be the last thing you'll want to see, ever. I will be terrible.

Still some more qualifiers to be played so this list will be whittled down, but as it stands we will face one of these teams in the Champs League play-off;

PSV Eindhoven

Metalist Kharkiv

Fenerbahce

Real Sociedad

Pacos de Ferreira

PAOK Thessaloniki

Salzburg

Nordjaelland

Grasshoppers Zurich

Zulte Waregem

I'd almost prefer those 3 so we're forced to take it seriously.
