As long as Ancelotti doesn't want to keep him, yes.

With Ancelotti in place do you think we could see the announcement before the trip to Vietnam?

Only two things can go wrong here, Ancellotti wants to keep him, or Man City decide Dzeko and Aguero need Higuain to compliment them

Have to say still gotta be odds on to be at Emirates as his only true competition is Giroud, no disrespect to Giroud but it would be easier to unsurp him than Aguero.

A small amount in me wanted us to Mignolet, good on Liverpool, will be interesting to see what happens with him and Reina.

If you believe the links close to the club we are apparently not even considering a new keeper anyway......

To be fair, I suffer through seeing your face more than regularly, and even when we win our next title I probably will cringe all over again.  Smiley face with a wink!

Was looking up Stein Huysegems on Youtube and found a clip from a Champions League qualifier in August 2008 when we beat FC Twente 4-0 in the 2nd leg. Here are the team line ups

Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Djourou, Clichy, Walcott, Fabregas (Song 68), Denilson, Nasri (Eboue 46), Van Persie (Adebayor 65), Bendtner.
Subs Not Used: Fabianski, Toure, Vela, Ramsey.

Booked: Clichy.

Goals: Nasri 27, Gallas 52, Walcott 66, Bendtner 89.

FC Twente: Mihailov, Wielaert, Tiote, Franco, Braafheid (Rajkovic 87), Denneboom, Heubach (Wellenberg 46), Brama, Janssen, Elia, Huysegems.
Subs Not Used: Paauwe, Zomer, Gerritsen, Chery, Reimerink.

At the end of the game, Huysegems is walking off the pitch with an Arsenal shirt over his shoulder. If I ever get the chance to chat to him, I'm going to ask who's shirt he got.

Nice spotting G4L, I will ask him the same question if I ever get the chance!

I'm hoping the Phoenix have another Open Day this year. Last years was good. Plenty of opportunities to talk to the players. Would love to chat to Stein about that game.

Yip... but jeebus - him playing behind Higuain with Theo and Santi out wide... I'll take that!... gives us two pretty solid starting teams too (broad generalisation of course lol)... and bye bye Gervo...

Brumbys, are you still in London on 17/18 September? Champions League match day 1. Draw still to be made obviously but assuming we make the group stage, theres a 50% chance that game could be at home. I'll still be in London so here's hoping. I could potentially get to see 4 games in 4 weeks and thats not counting the away game against Fulham.

mmmm can't see rooney being worth it to be honest, he's a bit overrated in my opinion. I'd be pretty stoked to get higuian and Fellani, if not fellani then that spainish u21 illlaranamendi fellow....yaya seems like a decent prospect as well. The longer this higuian deal drags out the nervous i get

Mega! I've had to cut my trip down to just a week unfortunately, so I land the morning of the Sp*rs game at home, and fly out the day after my mates wedding on the 7th, which I believe is an international :)

My goodness, Fellaini, Rooney, and Higuain would be about as strong a signal of intent than you could send!

That said though, I'd rather get Rooney and the young Spaniard for development purposes.

Oh bugger it. Get Fellaini, Rooney, Higuain, and future spanish defensive midfield God.

I like the idea of Rooney more from an intent perspective than what he brings on the pitch. Though that certainly isn't a bad thing either.

Yes, weekend of the 7th of September is an international break. England are playing Moldova at Wembley on Friday the 6th and yes, I am going to try and get a ticket to it.

I spent a lot of money flying to Cape Town to see them draw with Algeria during the World Cup. Definitely not going out of my way to see England any time soon!

In todays news we're back in for Cesar, which is exciting. Rumours circulating that he'll be on 70,000 and we'll spend 2m pounds to get him. I wonder if his confeds cup performances will boost that?

Looks like the Williams rumours won't go away, but we're not prepared to match Swanseas valuation, and apparently funds are the issue for Fellaini, which is disappointing but not suprising.

Has anyone else heard the Torres rumours if we don't get Higuain. Apparently Mourinho has only listed five players who he believes are definite starters at Chelsea and Torres isn't one of them.

Not sure how I'd feel about signing him.

Oh come on, Torres of 08/09 would be good value.

I'd take him on loan, much like Yossi was.

Torres of 08/09 isn't an option - and if he was, the chavs wouldn't want rid. To me it's pointless, even if he was free (which he isn't).

Torres is boss. He should come back to Atleti though, I reckon. We need someone for the CL to replace Falcao as well.

Jesus are newspapers struggling to sell that much!

Seems like London has lost the plot over the weekend, thought Rooney rumour was bad enough, yet Torres takes the cake lol

So the transfer window officially opened last night.

Yaya Sanogo finally announced as signed, and Djourou out on loan to Hamburg.

Interesting that we didn't sell him. Arsene must see potential in him, and this may be his last chance to prove it?

By all accounts he did well at Hanover so why not let him go and be as successful as he can be somewhere else?

I think we're trying to sell him but he won't take that much of a pay-cut. He's another one Arsene has lost faith in but is still commanding a decent wage. However according to him he has taken a small pay cut to play at Hamburg this season, so it must be the best financial deal for us. If this is his last contracted year he'll be released at the end of it. There's no coming back.

We've also agreed terms with Sunderland for Mannone, in the region of 2mil apparently. Guessing we'll sign Cesar and release Fabianski, making Martinez no.3.

Rooney/Torres rumours will remain just that, surely we aren't interested in either of them.

Not sure about Fellaini anymore, if we're offering nearly as much for Bender, sounds like we're looking elsewhere. Could be Fellaini's wage demands the show stopper there - we're offering pretty much the same price for Bender up front, surely must be the wages otherwise we'd grab Fellaini - proven in the EPL and all that.
