The Mata Dad tweet got deleted so I'm guessing it was a mistake.

Good win today except for the Pod injury.

Pretty worried about the Spuds game, to be honest. Feel like we really need to win this one or there could be a bit of a sea change in North London.

If the mata thing was really nothing then Wenger's answer at the press conference was odd

Oh god here we go with the north london power shift crap again.

Not gonna happen.

great game this morning!! ramo is on fire! good to see!! I really want him to have a great season and help take some of the pressure of Jack.

the past 3 results have given us confidence for the derby, with the spuds have won twice by a single goal,(and werent they both penos?) either way, happier now going into  the match than I was after the villa shark show

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Yea we might see Wilshere ease into things this year. Especially considering the fact that someone seems to kick the living sh*t out of him in every game he plays... how long will those ankles last?

Ramsey's form could not come at a better time, with Wilshere easing in and Arteta injured.

Rosicky has also been awesome of late, he'll be invaluable this weekend.

Reckon brumby's predicted lineup is spot on.

The Mata thing could be genuine. They've just signed Willian, and have Oscar and a host of other brilliant attacking players. His playing time could be limited, and could be a good player for us. Awkward for him if he signs with Chelsea over us then ends up here anyway...

I'm really nervous about this one. Especially without Arteta. I'd hate my first live derby to be a loss!

Take your mind off it and read some books in the library/swamp while you are there :-)

I think our current model looks like this:
1) Get linked with a player
2) Have player/agent come out and say they're not leaving (insert club here)
3) Sign Flamini
=P
Jokes aside Arsene knows. The Sp*rs match, if lost, will lead us to big signings I reckon. A big win there and we might get complacent. I suppose it just depends against whom we bench mark ourselves against, but I am jealous of the number of new signings they've had.

Don't think Wenger or Wilshere himself knows his best position yet. He doesn't really fit in as a No.10 or a DM but is a bit more attacking minded than your average B2B midfielder.

massive MASSIVE game against the yids this weekend, as bad as we are I always believe we will beat the filth. Can't see it being high scoring like previous years as both teams defences have started alright and neither team has world class attacking talent. Ramsay has started well and deserves all the compliments he is getting after getting slated the last few years.

Not sure how anyone can still say Arsene knows. He's passed his time and needs to go. This transfer window has been an embarrassment and a disgrace. The club have come out and said we have all the money in the world to spend and we let 10 players go. Have a look at our squad online and we are down to the bare bones already. We may bring in Flamini on a free and one other like Cabaye but they are hardly the players we deserve and need to progess.

Despite all that...We won the league...AT THE SHITHOLE...61 AND NEVER AGAIN

Podolski out for 10 weeks...the front 3rd is looking light again.

Flamini confirmed. On a 3-year deal.

Couple of ways to look at it, if we had already made a couple of world class signings then bringing someone like this in is a decent piece of business. He will be a decent piece of business if we do some good work in the last few days. The other way of course, this is the high water mark of our window and we've done all our business.

I really hope it's the former.

Yeah, Napoli, Dortmund, and Marseille...more motivation to spend big? Could Higuain come back to haunt us?

group of death

poldi out for 8 - 10 weeks

yikes

Flamini a good signing I think, a strong squad player who can cover all midfield roles and both fullback positions - which indirectly gives us more depth at CB as he can back up Jenkinson, allowing Sagna to fully concentrate on CB until Vermaelen returns.

Ox/Poldi being out for months does make us light at the attacking end. Especially since Poldi was probably chief back-up to Giroud as well.

Things are tight on the injury front...

Haha you guys always struggle for parts of the season, then suddenly get half your team back from injury, win a couple of tricky away games you'd been given no chance and sneak into fourth.

Oh, and you will get out of that group. Sharke for Napoli. I was going to put money on them winning the CL too. Lucky I didn't.

Sagna    Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs

Ramsey       Wilshere

agree with that lineup, same one brumbys predicted too

not many other choices really

give flamini a debut? No way

The only other players available? Fabianski, Jenkinson, Monreal, Frimpong, Miyaichi, Flamini, Sanogo, Gnabry, Eisfeld, Zelalem... barrel scraping

i know wenger is telling us arsenal wont panic buy, but after 2 months of fudge all, what other kind of signings can we get?

I think when the professor moves on from his post, one of the biggest blights on his CV is the lack of ability to regularly deal successfully in the transfer market.

saying that, the past 3 games we have played well, and  should a give us a good confidence boost against $puds this week.

no panic I think we we'll win comfortably.

I'd have Flam and Frimp on the bench but ready to rumble.

I reckon he'll start Flamini. Just to ensure Jack can be used for impact, and we have some passionate defensive minded midfield in there.

A few rumours going around of 30 mil plus Podolski for Julian Draxler, however Schalke seem to be leaking a sotry that this offer has been rejected

I wouldn't want Podolski to go as he is a brilliant squad player

100mil pffft keep spending spurs

Starting to understand why we wouldn't buy some of those players. For all the money spent, their three best performers for me were already in their team before the spending - lloris, townsend and rose. And two of those are youth products.

Capoue looks slow and plays some poor passes, looks like we dodged a bullet on that one then. Chadli looked dangerous initially, but jenkinson slotted him neatly into his pocket straight after that.

Someone said their midfield was gonna beast us but that was never gonna happen. Our midfield is well on the way to being the best in this division - no matter the personnel. Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Rosicky, Arteta, any combination will do. I'm starting to feel that a big beastish ball-winner wouldn't even suit our style - someone like Capoue would've really thrown a spanner in the works with how our mids are playing this season, the flow wouldn't be there. Perhaps more arteta-style conversions would suit us better - meaning a cabaye purchase could be the best thing.

What about arsene being a cheeky devil after the game "we may surprise you". I wonder who we've lined up? It will be a surprise at this rate, we've been linked with sh*tloads of players over the last 24 hours - Di Maria, Ozil, Kalou, Benzema, Draxler, Bender, could be anyone. Sounds like bendtner's off to Crystal Palace to form a partnership with Marouane too :) Wonder if they'll take Park?

sounds like we've agreed a loan deal for viviano, keeper, currently contracted to Palermo but on loan to Fiorentina in a bizarre arrangement, and is back-up to Buffon for Italy.

If we have signed Ozil that'd be freakin amazing
