So this is our current injured list:

Podolski

Diaby

Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arteta

Vermaelen (probably due back next game though)

Obviously things will change in the next cupla weeks, but perhaps we're looking at line-up like this come our next match;

                    Szczesny

Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbs

             Ramsey-Wilshere

          Walcott-Ozil-Cazorla

                      Giroud

ooh can you just imagine ramsey, wilshere, cazorla and ozil passing it amongst themselves?

Crikey that's even without the likes of Arteta and Rosicky. We have midfield depth up to our eyeballs.

pretty spot on there, we should be able to feild a fresh and solid midfield every single game, i think bendtner or sanago to provide some rest for giroud

As above what excitement to end the window on!!

Love Flamini, Ozil and happy with Viviano (going by his record in Serie A and with Italy) and will give Sanogo time to blend in.

Statement of intent is correct and more than anything this transfer can unlock further transfers in January/next summer.

Viviano will be good at keeping Szez on his toes, I like Fabianski but it has felt like we have needed someone stronger and can stay fit for longer to keep pushing Szez.

Gotta feel for Cabaye, he had his hopes raised and dashed...

Ozil. Wow.

Three for me, and two for them.

January will indeed be interesting. As you said Paulm, having a midfield like ours has got to be an enormously tempting prospect, so hopefully people are keen to come join. Someone like Rooney could be tempted further. That said I think I'd prefer a more out and out striker. Abel Hernandez has been touted as that potential player, and I would be interested given his pace and his dominance in the air.

Oh well, looking forward to him joining the squad. Here's hoping he doesn't pick up a niggle during the break.

still think we are a bit soft at the back, but still a lot happier now about the squad that at the start of the season.

Poli out for 3 months isnt grand, we will really need sanago,bendnter and ryo to step up in their absence. not a big fan of bentdners ego but i think he can score  a few goals for us. Giroud can't be expected to play every min of every game

I read about that somewhere, apparently when Levy got wind of Ozil he rang Perez and asked him not to sell to us, but Perez said deal is done, sorry chaps!

Also, for another giggle at the hot spurt's expense, From the Limbert blog on ESPNFC;

"At this point, I would like to thank Tottenham Hotspur. While I think there were deals Wenger could and should have gotten done earlier in the transfer window, he did maintain that things would happen in the market generally near the deadline. Gareth Bale's move to Madrid has undoubtedly caused the domino effect of the club being willing to let Ozil go. Had Spurs resisted Madrid, I can't see how Ozil to Arsenal would have materialised. So after losing the North London derby, Spurs have also lost their best player and inadvertently helped Arsenal make one of their most exciting signings ever."

Levy = overrated

who hired Brown Bags? he did

who is paying Ade approx 170000 a week? he is.

Ozil signing , will have influence in January for sure.

little tidbit from an interview with Ozil's dad;

What role did Arsène Wenger play in Mesut’s decision?

He was one of the deciding persons to convince us. It's also very helpful that he speaks German well. But that’s not all. He also told us about his plans with the team and especially with Mesut. He wants him to play a big role in midfield.

Attitude aside Bendtner is better placed to play up front than Sanogo at this stage.

Agree with Foal he is likely to get game time, the world is on Giroud's shoulders and he seems to revel in the pressure!

I think our strongest lineup when fully fit will be;

                     Szczesny
Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbs
              Wilshere-Ramsey
           Walcott-Ozil-Cazorla
                       Giroud

Tough on Arteta I know

Depending on which way you couch it, you could say Ozil is taking Podolski's, Rosicky's or Arteta's place. Or even Oxlade-Chamberlain's if you look at our opening game this season.
Our mids and attackers are very versatile

Once fit arteta would start ahead of wilshere for me unless wilshere's form improves dramatically....once ox and poli are back we will have some good options on the bench

Yep, re-habbing after serious knee injury at the end of last season

Wouldn't expect any minutes until 2014, probably not Jan/Feb either. I wonder what his contract situation is. If this is his final year I doubt we'll renew. Cant see who would take him on either, just far too risky for any team in any league. Such a loss of talent, a real shame

I wonder if he secretly plots to murder that guy from Southampton who smashed his ankle in 2005

Bendtner is currently crocked anyway and just had surgery so he wont be up to full fitness for quite a long time.

Dan Smith.  Who apparently now works in a call centre up in the North East somewhere.

yeah agreed regarding waste of talent, IF we does make it back getting into that midfld will be impossible. i do reckon if he can stay fit or not get injury for a month or 2 wenger might give him another year.

Apparently had a pretty average, below-standards game for Germany but still had a 99% pass success rate and 4 important passes.

Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbs

As much as I like Jack there is no way he deserves a starting position based on his current form and our wealth of midfield players.

Yep with a fully fit squad I have no doubt this will be it. Perhaps against certain teams we will have Ozil and Cazorla on the wings with Arteta/Wilshere/Ramsey as the midfield 3 though.

Arteta more or less does that. I guess Flamini will just be used as cover for Arteta. I am not sure I would want to see Flamini in fullback positions as, as good as we was the other day, he seemed to have lacked pace. At any rate we are well stocked with two decent fullbacks on each side so hopefully it doesn't come to that!

I'm happy with the Flamini signing covering midfield.

We're still light in the Striker and CB stocks.

I expect this team to have a good dig at the title this year. A cup shouldn't be out of reach either.
