Does Klopp remind anyone else of the comedian Stephen Merchant? haha

Pretty sure Flamini will be one of the first names on the team sheet these days along with Ramsey.

i agree - i was just suggesting he could be rested since he's played a few and never gets subbed

Although it just dawned on me that he and arteta wont be going on international duty, so may as well throw em both back out there to start this weekend anyway!

Sounds like cazorla wont be risked, so expect him back fighting fit after the international break too

Sagna is a doubt with a dodgy hamstring. Perfect for jenkinson to get a start (another who likely wont be called up for international duty), he's played well when given minutes. Dont even risk sagna - especially since france will probably thrash him during the break

I'm rocking my new home shirt at work today. Bought the home and away shirts while I was in London. Got Ramsey 16 on the home shirt and S.Cazorla 19 on the away shirt. Both in the Champions League font. It was before we signed Ozil but every second person seemed to have an Ozil shirt after we signed him.

Just a spelling tip. You can use ALT 0214 for Ö or just spell it Oezil.

I have a Ramsey shirt from the season after he got Shawcrossed. Emirates logo on front started peeling after first wash so didn't get much use, but I've been wearing it at least once a week since the start of this season.

Injury Update

Cazorla - possibly available for Norwich at home (Oct 19)

Sanogo - possibly available for Norwich  at home (Oct 19)

Sagna - possibly available for Norwich at home (Oct 19)

Walcott - possibly available for Norwich at home (Oct 19) - note, no new info on this from the press conf last night, so perhaps out for longer... not sure

Podolski - possibly available for Liverpool at home (Nov 2)

Zelalem - possibly available for Liverpool at home (Nov 2)

Oxlade-Chamberlain - possibly available for Southampton at home (Nov 23)

Diaby - available approx January/February

So we should have everyone above except Ox/Diaby back within a month, I like the sound of that

It was after going to see the Fenerbahce game where Ramsey scored both goals.

Older fans might recognise this chap (the one on the left) with me during the Emirates stadium tour. Absolute legend and hell of a nice guy.

extra time 1971

you even got the right shirt on homeslice.

concern is lack of sideburn action.

not impressed that Sagna is injured. Still don't get why Mig and Coq were loaned out.

Tough match, WBA looked really good. Steve Clarke has got them playing very good football.

Decent point in the end I'd say. Jack had an absolute mare but did atone for it with his (deflected) goal.

Top of the league.

Also brilliant that sp*rs got violated at home by West Ham LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Nice to see our boy Reid got in on the Sp*rs act.

Need an injury free break and to get Poldi/Ox/Sanogo/Cazorla/Sagna back as here's the fixture list:

19 Oct - Norwich (H) - EPL

22 Oct - Dortmund (H) - ECL

26 Oct - Palace (A) - EPL

29 Oct - Chelsea (H) - Cap 1 Cup

2 Nov - Liverpool (H) - EPL

6 Nov - Dortmund (A) - ECL

10 Nov - Man United (A) - EPL

7 games in 23 days...

Based on that run I'd be giving the young guns a go against Chelsea, and also resting a few key players between Pool and United, assuming we win at home against Dortmund.

Arsenal and Liverpool at the top now. What is Southampton doing in fourth??

If anyone but United, City or Chelsea win the league this year I am happy.

Due back a decent group of players after this international break, we're in great shape. Hope ramsey's knee is ok - he basically disappeared from the game when that happened.

WBA looked very decent, a good point in my books. Szczesny made a couple of crucial saves, he had a good game.

Spurs ARF!

Anyone else noticed how we have been wearing our yellow kit away from home even when our home kit doesn't clash? Must be some kind of marketing ploy to sell shirts. It worked on me, I bought one :)

i really like the yellow kit this season

i think it's because ozil has worn it in all but one game since he arrived

The next 7 games will be the real testers. Despite playing well so far, we still haven't played any of our direct competition yet.

so, jack was playing out wide and wasnt that great...is that a sign of the future? or is it the fact that our engine room is ticking along nicely without him at the mo and he will play more central later?

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

He'd be on the bench if santi, poldi and theo were fit. He's the best square peg we have for that round hole at the moment.

I'll throw a prediction out now that only Dortmund and Chelsea are direct competition in that list.

'tis indeed a big call

Mainly based on me badly wanting to see manU fail to be fair.

Although I'd still be surprised at this point if Liverpool made the top 4. Sounds like they'll lose Suarez in Jan and their squad just doesn't have the depth for me. Even with Suarez, they have the worst squad out of the 'big 6' on paper in my opinion.

Squad being the operative word there. Imo their first eleven are top drawer but they get a bit thin after that, and the success or failure of their season relies on the fitness of about fifteen players. Should those 15 stay fit throughout the season, they'll have a crack at the top 4 or better, if not, it'll likely be another 6th place finish.

Where we finish will a hot topic for fans and naysayers alike, what I love about this season is we could have anyone of 5 or 6 teams realistically win the title.

Ferguson retiring has changed the playing field completely!

I'd say most clubs except Man City/Chelsea/PSG/Real/Barca and probably Bayern are in that position. Including us. We don't have a huge squad - we've only got one good striker.

If you give us a strongest eleven when fit of Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Ramsey, Walcott, Ozil, Cazorla and Giroud, that still leaves us with this bench:

Fabianski, Monreal, Vermaelen, Arteta, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski

If you put that bench up against some of the clubs discussed here I think you'll find we stack up ok. Get that striker and things will look very good. Imagine leaving someone off that bench? Already Rosicky, Diaby, Jenkinson and the likes wouldn't make the cut but for injuries. Contrast that with Liverpool, and we shouldn't be in the same breath. Granted we don't have the luxury of some of the clubs in valeo's list but our squad is certainly deeper than people think. We've had 3 injury crises so far this season - first in defence, then in midfield, now in the wide forwards, yet we've lost one game and are top of the league. Just gotta get through to Jan and buy that striker!
