Akpom to hull on loan. I thought he was staying around??? Who does that leave as our forward options? Wally. Giroud. Welbeck. ?

Thoughts on Wanyama as our DM? I haven't seen as much of him as is like but he could be useful.

Tell me about it, that's why it's majorly ironic that he's suddenly got an ounce of positivity!

Yeah with Akpom and Sanago loaned out, Podolski sold and Campbell about to be sold/loaned it leaves the three above which means one of two things.

1. This is Wenger's way of getting as much game time for Welbeck as possible

2. Wenger is seriously in the market for a classy CF

Which will it be???

He's built like a brick sharkhouse!

In the games I'd seen of Southampton he looked physical which is what we need/ed, just wondered if his passing was accurate and expansive enough for Wenger.

But imagine him as back up to the Coq. He would offer something very different.

It seems pretty unlikely that we'd be in for him. I think Wenger is happy with Coquelin and Arteta in that position (and maybe even Flamini...).

Apparently it was our brazilian ex-con on the training ground. I'm sure it wouldn't have been malicious, but Gabby gives me nightmares and I just watch him on TV.

This started with him being out for 2 days. His ankles are fudgeed. He might be done as a top level footballer.

Serge Gnabry on possible loan to West Brom. If he can stay injury free, it will be good to give him some PL game time.

Shows how little pre-season result mean doesn't it? That was awful. New season, same old issues. Could take it more if we played well, had a load of chances and were unlucky. But we just dire and deserved to lose.

Disappointingly poor from Cech on both goals.

Buy Cech.

Concede 2x goals involving keeper errors.

Seriously.

You can't make that up.

Ozil, Giroud, Ramsey, all poor in the attacking end. Giroud doesn't look fit, which matches up with some of the comment in AJC's asian tour reports about him taking longer to get up to speed with his fitness. Feels like Walcott was more ready to start, but perhaps we wanted the size of Giroud up top. Either way, didn't work.

Gotta bounce back big time now. This is very similar to that Villa opening day loss two years ago...

I think we just saw why Chelsea were happy to sell Cech, he's a double agent!

That first goal wasn't all Cech though, no one tracked their man. The second goal was appalling.

Coquellin kept hitting long balls out of play, but his screening game was strong.

Debuchy, Kosc, Per, Monreal all looked OK.

Ramsey was driving forward but couldn't spark anything, Santi seemed gun shy, and Mesut was just out of sync.

The Ox was looking like our best outlet, but Giroud wasn't helping him out much.

Hopefully Giroud is OK too, he looked out COLD!

#AFC had a below average game but that may have got you a result against #WHU end of last season but they did play very well this morning. Played a proper, old skool midfield diamond which worked well for them.

Unfortunately for this #LFC fan, you'll probably bounce right back and be just fine. I still think the title is a shoot out between #AFC and #CFC (despite both dropping points).

"...sure beats doin' stuff."
