Great result, but Bendnter scored a hatrick in the emirates cup vs porto a few years ago, so meh

haha Sanogo with 4. We don't need another striker etc...

His goal celebrations need some work, including not falling over

I think we are going to have a big season.

Was hilarious when Sanogo fell over looool

At risk of getting to far ahead of ourselves I think we may actually challenge for more silverware this season (touch wood , fingers crossed etc etc). If our 'C' team can play that well I'm pretty exited to see what happens when our A team turns up.

Yea the celebrations we odd and gangly but so it sanogo so its ok.

What I liked was his positioning. Last year I thought he was always a yard late or two yards early when he was getting to the box. all his goals last night he was right place right time. Good signs.

Rambo also looks like hes in for another strong season.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Sanogo reminds me so much of early Diaby in regards to his movement, somehow awkward and graceful at the same time

Those were all strikers goals for Sanogo, nothing too special just consistently right place right time. Best finish for me was Campbells!

Exciting game and the floodgates finally opened for Sanogo. Not possible to miss any of them but got himself into the right positions at the right time. Great finish from Campbell too. Sanchez looked in a different class with his few touches. Can't wait until he's 100%.

Jenkinson conceded a penalty in his first game for West Ham and then suffered a hamstring injury. Not exactly the perfect start.

Shame about the result yesterday but I'm very excited by Chambers. Looks a proper footballer and based on these games I'd be happy to throw him in when Mertesacker is out. One of those guys where it only took 5 minutes to see that he's going to be good.

Sanogo I can't believe got 4, I still think we need another centre forward. Bellerin and Chambers probably the best things to come out of the weekend. Can't wait to see Sanchez linking up with Ozil and Ramsey

So Diaby sat out the Emirates Cup. Is it happening again? I fear the worst for him.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess this as our starting line-up for Crystal Palace

                     Sczcesny

Debuchy-Chambers-Koscielny-Gibbs

                 Ramsey-Arteta

         Sanchez-Rosicky-Cazorla

                        Giroud

Could be anything in reality though. Sanogo could start up top if Giroud is still not fit enough. Mertesacker might be rushed straight in given Chambers' inexperience, or perhaps even a shiny new CB could get a start if one is signed soon (latest rumours suggest Vermaelen is off to Barca). The Ox could slot in there in place of Rosicky. Flamini could get the nod over Arteta. Who knows.

Mertesacker wont be rushed and I think Wenger will be quite happy to play Chambers given how solid and composed he looked the last 2 days against strong opposition. Probably good to start off with Palace and not away at Chelsea or Liverpool. I expect Sanogo to start the first game while Giroud gets up to 100% and probably Ox too. He looked sharp yesterday. Such a shame he got injured and effectively missed the World Cup. Think he'd have started over Welbeck.

yes needs more OX

He'd be in my first XI every week.

Seeing how little time BFG spent on the pitch in Brazil I wouldn't be surprised if he started Vs Palace. Poldi is still and option on the left if we want to put Ox on the right and Alexis up front. (FYI - he prefers Alexis, not Sanchez)

To be fair Mertesacker played 4 x 90 minutes, then 45 in the semi final. Of the Arsenal players at the World Cup only Ozil played more minutes. Podolski was the one who barely played (only 53 minutes) and could feature before the other 2. I wouldn't expect any of them in the first game though.

More rumours that Vermalen is going to leave. With Chambers coming in I'm confident in him playing as cup matches, but we need someone who can regularly be a challenger to Per & Kos.

Wenger has been quoted as saying August 15th - 30th is when it'll heat up again, but I'm hoping he moves for a CB sooner rather than later. Even a loan deal for someone would be good.

We've been linked with Hummels and Agger over the last few days.

These are the sorts of players we need to replace Vermaelen - experienced top level CBs.

Guaranteed that at least one of Kosc/Sack will go down with an injury at some point this season.

We wont get a player of that quality to come without guaranteeing them 1st team football, and based on form their wasn't a better pairing the PL last season than Mert & Kos

Some older experienced played at the twilight of his career would be a decent option for a 4th CB. Like when we got Sol back the other season. Wenger rarely tends to get that kind of signing right though. Dare I say it, Ferdinand could have been a decent option for free if his body wasn't half broken!

The SSN rumours that Barca have bid on Vermaelen is a lot more pleasing than United. I just wish things like this got done sooner.

That's why a Mascherano/Javi Martinez signing would be good as they could come in at DMF & provide CB cover.

Ferdinand has Silvestre II written all over him. And Sol was pretty much a disaster on his return!

I see we're being linked with Agger. That is a third choice CB I agree with (Chambers fourth).
