He's generally played him in the center, but decided to follow the game plan from last years game on the weekend. 

All in all, two encouraging performances, but worries about not being able to close games out.  If we get Eto the I guess it shows that the board are really backing Martinez and we're going for a Champs League spot. 

Liberty - Everton to become your default team now with no Norwich?  Will have to try and arrange a meeting for the derby.

Well, I do look better in blue than red.

Not the easiest of draws there.  At least there's only one trip to east europe.

Ugly win but we'll take the 3 points.  Thought we looked much better when Osman came on to give us more influence through the middle.  Think this type of game shows us how much we'll miss Barkley - a real driving force through the center of the park.

I thought Everton were comfortable. You might never have got out of 3rd gear but the Baggies were stuck in first. I thought Everton sat on their early goal advantage but WBA never really threatened except for a few pot shots from outside the box. 2nd gaol killed it off. Naismith was all over the place today - missed that open goal from 8 yds out by skying it showed the kind of performance he was having.  Jags looks like he is really struggling for some match fitness.

New stadium announced for Everton more details later this week. 

Lukaku's goal was a beautiful strike. Even if it came from a blunder. Good win.

So Walton Hall Park to be the new home of the Toffees?

Anyone know of the Wolfzberg game is on TV? Sommet Sport don't have it listed.

Certainly is on Sommet - and it's been on the Sky EPG all week.

Watched it. Loved it. Annoyed to concede late but scoring 4 was good. Howard and his beard of superhero powers was awesome.

Great result, not so keen on the performance though.  In any case it's great to have European nights back at Goodison!!

Bit late but,That was great finishing. Lukaku gets through a ton of work off the ball and baines was everywhere!

Really encouraging to see how Eot'o played when he came on as well.  When was the last time we could say we had genuine class strikers.

oh dear, what was that this morning!! Lukako and Eto'o could have put that game to bed! it was just one of those games where you shoot and shoot but the final bit of luck isnt there. 

I love baines bombing up the line, but i felt he got caught out to easily today and the defence through the middle was also to square/flat for when their through balls were being hoofed forward.

One hour til kick-off, game on Summit.  Apparently Blues fans have already been tear-gassed by Lille police.  Hopefully the team can grab three points.

Nice win this morning sees us through to the next round of the Europa with a game in hand.  Haven't seen the game, but by the looks Wolfsburg (sp?) dominated shots & possession, but I guess we must have played effective counter-attacking football.

Hope the form continues away to Spurs on Sunday.

Great result this morning.  And I see Everton won as well.

Nice to see Geri back.  Seems a steal at £4.2m, but I suppose if he is as good as they hope, Barca will come calling.

I think we need to hold onto Stones and I don't believe (maybe ignorantly) that he will be sold this year.  With the new TV money we should be under no pressure to sell.  

In saying that, if the clubs challenging for a title keep coming in for him, it's probably inevitable that he'll eventually go - 12 more months with us and his value might be even greater hopefully.

Sadly it seems I support a club that has no ambition other than surviving in the EPL

Nice to see McCarthy & Miralles sign new contracts.  Should shut the tabloids up a bit.

And now hearing reports that Baines could be out for 3 months.....

Perhaps unsurprisingly Garbutt suffered an injury at Fulham and is out for 6 weeks also.

Geez, Aruna Kone has terrible ball control. Given it away half dozen times in the first 25 mins.

We'll probably play our B team again - the League is the number one thing for us.
