Well now, 2nd in the league. Quite statisfying and, yes, it is early days.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Bugger it. Could've pinched it, but 2-2 probably a fair result.

Finally we're back, seems like it's been years since I've seen us play. Fucking international breaks, hate them.

Everton held out for a 1-1. Well done.  But totally agree with you on International Breaks.

 Bollocks.  More lost points.

Cheer up - you've got us next.

According to news reports last night, Moyes is lining up bids for PSG's Kevin Gameiro and Toulouse's Ben Yedder. It also seems a loan move for ex Everton defender Joleon Lescott is also on the table.

Fellani only got three weeks, a tongue lashing from Moyes and 150k fine from Club. Very Lucky I would suggest.

Love it fantastic season so far for us Mighty Blues. As the commentator said while watching us beat Wigan. it's nice to look in the results section to see how Chelsea,Arsenal and Spurs got on and if your still in the top 4 rather than counting the points needed to avoid the drop as we sit 15th like we'd normally do

Who's in line to replace Moyes if, as rumours have it, he's off to Man U?

Kotahitanga. We are one.

I love Moyes too. He defo deserves that United role. Defo.

So is it Mark Hughes or Harry Redknapp to Everton?

08 May 23:21

 Martinez.

Sadly I think he will. My biggest concern is who he'll take with him. Fellaini prob to Chelsea. I think Baines and maybe Jags will follow Moyes. Sad days ahead for EFC. Hopefully Stubbs will step up as a true blue replacement for Moyes.

Its no longer a problem.

What about that Liverpool resident who will be looking for a coaching job soon? RAFFA!

I like your optimism but I just can't see Una accepting the job.

Really thought we'd get something from that game. Right up until Davey took Vic off, and replaced him with Jelli.

Take a second to vote for which EPL team you want Sommet Sports to buy the internet channel rights to so they can broadcast a complete EPL game and other footage every week. (they already have the rights to Chelsea TV)

Sommet Sports are the new sports channel on Freeview in NZ and start broadcasts in a few weeks.

They are broadcasting already temporarily on ch. 114 as a test (though not this weekend due to technical problems - will resume in a few days) - have been broadcasting replays of last seasons' Capital Cup, Europa Lge etc. the last month.

(to find the test channel's transmissions, punch "114" on your remote - or do a re-scan of your UHF box first if necessary)

They will be broadcasting regularly on ch 14 in a few weeks.

So a bit of wheeling and dealing in the last hour of the transfer window.  Fellaini gone - 27.5m is what I heard.  What do people think?  Are we the new Wigan.  Excited about Lukaku.

Read this reader email on F365, rather interesting, you lads think along similar lines or no?

"Moyes received almost unanimous backing from our fans right up to the 2009 cup final (2-1 defeat after taking the lead). After that loss a very small minority thought he'd taken us as far as he could but most of us we still right behind him. This remained the case until the 2012 cup quarter and semi-finals. Moyes rested half the first team for a derby match (3-0, Gerrard hat-trick) with one eye on the Sunderland QF, which we then drew 1-1. He drew a lot of ire for those two results/decisions but most felt that he could redeem it if he could beat Liverpool in the semi that followed the replay win. Again we lost 2-1 after leading and due to a ridiculous tactical switch that left Cahill as the midfield anchor when Fellaini had dominated the first half in that position. He lost a LOT of support that day.

The final nail for those who felt Moyes had taken as far as he could was another cup match, 0-3 at home to Wigan last year when he selected Phil Neville in centre mid, keeping Gibson on the bench all game before starting him the week after against Man City (won 1-0). Those are the decisions that many Everton fans judge Moyes negatively on and are the ones that highlight his bottling big games and throwing away winning/strong positions.

So much of Evertonian relief about Moyes' departure isn't based on Martinez or our start to the season. After 11 years most of us just wanted to see someone bring fresh ideas to a stale situation. That Martinez hasn't moaned about money or belittled his former club as Moyes has is merely an added bonus (I see this week he was 'surprised at Fellaini's lack of fitness', following on from his 'Roberto will learn' and 'if Fergie came in for Baines I'd have sold him (but I don't talk about other team's players')).

Also, we gained 22 points from losing positions? Well we lost 21 points from winning positions last season so what does that prove? Not much. We had a better points total after six games last season? Well we then won six league matches in the next 5+ months so lets see how we go from here...

The Barkley position can best be summed up by having him on the bench for the cup replay at home to Oldham last season. 3-1 up, he leaves it until the 90th minute and finally brings on his midfield sub, introducing the now-retired Thomas Hitzlsperger instead of giving the kid a run-out in a game that we were 3-0 up in after an hour.

The Moyes that arrived in 2002 and played Rooney at 16 wasn't afraid to take risks and make bold statements with his team selections. The one that left sure was.

So, to sum up: A lot of us were happy that he went and even more of us wouldn't have him back now if he begged. It doesn't make us fickle - we supported him for anywhere between 8 and 11 years and he got a send-off that a manager who won nothing and had already agreed to join a local rival could only dream of."

04 Oct 22:09

I was always a Moyes supporter, even through some of those losses mentioned above.  I had a real fear that with the change of manager we'd be back to being relegation contenders.  Obviously being over here in NZ you don't get a real feel for how the majority of Evertonians think about Moyes, but I think the send off he got in that game against West Ham was magnificent.  A lot of his critics forget just how bad we were before he took over and despite the fact we never won anything under him, he'd have to go down as one of our best managers (in my opinion).

It is a shame that he somewhat clotted his book with his dealings in the off-season, but even through that we've done well out of it.

Martinez has done well, especially with those loans moves.  I wasn't keen on him when he was appointed but so far so good.

Yo, where my fellow Blue noses at?

07 Nov 07:25

^ Hiding. Lovin the Martinez era, so far anyway. much better style of play. although i think Distan is lucky to still be starting. Ross Barkley and Lukaku are boss. where you been KP

Great derby - pity we couldn't hang on for the win.  If only we could play like that every week (going forward, not the set piece defending)!!!

Bump.

4 from 4. 6 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand and still have them at home next weekend. Sneek in to Champions Laegue?
