Interesting that they appear have gone back to their original colours after many years

Get one from TOFFS and you even get the original style (ish)

Rumbelows Cup action tonight as Bury take on WBA live on Sky.  In true part time, glory hunting tradition I will be watching from the couch as I think we will lose and I am still trying to shake a hangover from Sunday (highlight of the day was watching Gary Speed jog past while I supped a bear in a garden bar in Chester).

If Saturday's performance was anything to go by, WBA will win this by about 10.

Also, I forgot to mention that I had a chip barmcake (chips in a burger bun) in the Bury FC Social club prior to kick off on Saturday.  Apparently the pie barmcake is the way to go, and I am in the process of trying to track down somewhere that sells one.  Will keep you posted.

The accounts of the culinary delights of Bury could be almost as interesting as the matches.

Can't I do that from the couch?

Hopefully he gets to start with Simon Cox and they bang in some goals.  I imagine that Cox will be the first choice striker at the club, so it is up to Wood to prove that he is a better partner for him than Luke Moore.  Getting a few goals while being marked by a centre back who cannot kick a football (Sodje - seriously, he cannot kick a ball.  He is like a black Betters) will be a great opportunity for him.

Wood on the bench, and 1-0 to WBA after a couple of minutes.  Going to be a long night.

If anyone is watching, keep an eye on Murphy in centre mid for Bury - he is utter gash.

2-0 to WBA

The Milk Cup dream is over for another year.

Wood got about the last 10 minutes and did alright, but Bury were a far better team after Murphy got dragged.  He is garbage.

I'm hoping you've tried chips and gravy? You could survive your whole life on chips and gravy and never hunger for anything else, apart from the odd pie.

Have you been further north?  The delights of "the Paris of the North" - Morecombe perhaps? Or take in the warm and friendly ambience of Fleetwood or Southport?

mmmmmmm, northern boys love gravy.

Off to Edinburgh this weekend (the fringe is on - where else can you see a zany one woman play about rape???) , and have been to the "Vegas of the North" (Blackpool), the "South Central of the North" (Salford) and the "Chester of the North" (Chester - they are too posh to be compared to anywhere else).  Planning to go to the "Cococabana of the North" (Whitby), while avoiding the "Dole office of the North" (Liverpool).

Yeah I called Blackpool the "Paris" of the north to give it some mystique. I hear they had trouble on the Big Dipper.That is scary, the Dipper with the National are two of the older roller coasters I seem to remember?

Bury had their first win of the season, 1-0 away to Darlington.  Dean Windass missed a penalty in the last minute which would have earned a point for the home side, but judging by the 8 seconds of highlights I saw, we really deserved the 3 points.  They are away to Hereford tonight, so I cannot see anything but another 3 points for the Shakers.

This weekend, I will probably go and see one of the following:

* Man Citeh vs Wolves
* Bury vs Grimsby
* Wigan vs Man Utd

In other news, Edinburgh fringe festival is great fun although there are some really bad acts there.  I couldn't find any deep fried Mars Bars (I have had before, so didn't really look very hard), I had a pint of Tennants (made with old socks) and went to a shop that had sold out of umbrellas......in the middle of summer.  Only in Scotland.......

Looks like I will have to drive Mrs Mac over to Blackpool in the morning, so will probably go to Preston versus Posh - it will give me a chance to have a look at the National Football Museum at Deepdale before the game.

I will try to track down a barmcake prior to kickoff and let you know how it rates compared to the one I had at Bury.  I will also yell at Neil Mellor for a being a fat c**t.

I've seen them twice, one time in London the whole audience was a heaving mass of alcohol fulled anger and violence, people p*ssing and vomiting from the upper balconies into the audience below it was horrific, truly one of the most degenerate displays of mankind I've seen. Fun gig though.

back from Deepdale after watching a pretty decent game.  Preston beat Peterborough 2-0 with the fat c**t Mellor scoring the first (I had him at 5/1 for first scorer, thank you very much), setting up the second and winning man of the match.  Still a fat c**t though.

Went to the Football Museum before the game which is pretty interesting.  Best thing in there is the Maradonna shirt from the 86 world cup game against England (hand of god, and one of the greatest goals ever).

No barmcakes could be found in the greater Preston area, but a lovely pie, peas and gravy for lunch hit the spot.  I went for the Meat and Potatoe pie, although they also had a Butter Pie, which is something I imagine Hard News has for breakfast.

Also forgot to mention that I was seated by the away fans at Deepdale, which always adds to the atmosphere a little bit.  At one stage all the Preston fans picked out a blond girl in the Posh end, and (in the age old tradition) started asking if she liked partake in the sexual practice that dare not speak its name (otherwise known as bum love).  All the guys she was with in the Posh end started chanting back that she does - cue a very red faced girl sitting quitely with about 100 blokes laughing at her.

Ahhhhhhh, fun times.

Bury also got beat at home by Grimsby (bottom of the table before kickoff) so promotion looks a long way off at the moment.

I went to no game in the weekend, and nothing on this week as building to an international weekend.  Bury are at home to Accrington Stanley ("Accrington???  Who are they?" "EXACTLY") in the weekend, so I will probably go and have a look at that.

Bury got thumped in the weekend by local rivals Rochdale, so things really looking a bit dire at Gigg Lane.

Bury lost 2-0 at home to crisis club Accrington Stanley.  It was 0-0 with 15 to go with only 1 team going to win it, and then the other one did.

Bury were sh*t (Steve-o would have killed himself if he was there), although the Chicken Balti pie at half time was very nice.

With my skill of turning good sides to muck by supporting them, I am thinking of getting over to Old Trafford to cheer on united.

For those of you that are still interested, off to see Wigan vs West Ham tomorrow.  To be honest, not really expecting much of a game - probably plenty of pretty passing, but no cut or thrust (until the 78th minutes when the legend that is Carlton Cole will score with a bicycle kick from the edge of his own area).

Bury are at home to Cheltenham, so I will be missing out on a few horsey gags.  It will also be a bit weird tomorrow not being able to shout out "GET UP YOU SOFT SOUTHERN FANNY!" everytime one of the opposition players gets injured.

Hi mum (I am assuming she is now the only person who bothers to read this).

I will not be attending any games this weekend or next due to being away, although I will get to Bolton vs West Ham in the Milk Cup on next Wednesday (I think).  Bury are away to Port Vale this Saturday, but I think even Bury fans don't care anymore.  I read the other day that they have yet to score at home this season which even Wellington United had managed by this stage of their season (5 games).  If they don't get at least a point this weekend I am going to think very seriously about growing a fringe to cover the club badge that I had tattoed on my forehead.
