fook off - I will be wearing a shirt with no jumper or jacket (only relevant if it is raining or snowing), eating a barmcake covered in gravey and knocking back pints of bitter.  I will then laugh as all you southerners get pissed before me, despite the fact that you are all drinking shandy.  The night will end with me battering someone - either some puuf who spilled my pint, or wor lass.

By the way, do you know anywhere doon sooth where I can cash my giro?

I think the last part can be interpreted as "Due to the closure of the collieries and heavy industries including the shipyards, I am unable to engage in paid employment due to my lack of educational qualifications - not even an O level in cadging.

As a result of this inauspicious cricumstance I am forced to rely on the largesse of the wealthy London taxpayers who graciously provide me with sufficient monetary recompense to cloth my family in other people's clothes and I can afford some of the finest brown liquid with effervescence this side of any polluted river up here.

Such reimbursement is however not provided in a transferable monetary form and I am forced to go to an outlet that will exchange my "hand out" for Pounds Stirling that I will immediately use to procure tobacco and hops-related products.

If you could advise me of the location of such an outlet I would be most grateful."

Or something like that

Nah just read old back issues of Viz.

"Are you calling my Pint a Puff?" is a standard question a Northern gentleman might ask a Southern gentlemen in the public bar of a freehouse.

Wigan the only time I went there was to attend a funeral of a bloke who'd once snogged Marilyn Monroe...

when I stop being so f**king depressed.

All I am going to say at this stage is they can't even do a decent f**king Chicken Balti pie at that big empty piss-pot they call a football stadium.  How the f**k do you screw up a chicken balti??????????????????  Get some chicken, mix it up with some balti sauce and then put some pastry around it.  They can get it right at f**king Bury for c**ts sake.

A premier-league football club not being able to do a decent chicken balti pie is a disgrace, and the sooner UEFA or FIFA get on to it, the better.

I am just going to pretend that Tuesday night never happened.

No football this weekend as away, but Bury are looking to score their first goals of the season at Gigg Lane when they host Lincoln City on Saturday.  I am expecting plenty of fireworks as.........no sorry, I can't do it.  I know absolutely nothing about Lincoln City and cannot be f**ked trying to find something out about them.

I fly back into Manchester airport at 7:30 on Monday evening, then it is straight in a cab and off to the City of Manchester stadium for the City vs West Ham game kicking off at 8.  Wife is not chuffed that I will leave her in the baggage reclaim area and make her travel home with all our gear on her own, but she should be a little bit happy that I have told her.  I did toy with the idea of just saying "off to football" and sprinting off, leaving her looking bewildered and pissed off (only for a laugh, like) but thought better of it.  After the shower of sh*t that was served up at the (empty) Reebok stadium on Tuesday night I am a little scared of what City could do to us.  At least it will give me a fun couple of hours yelling abuse at the no neck, Gladstone Small wannabe c**t Craig Bellamy, so it is not all bad.

I like him. Extremely talented footballer who keeps his head down and has a fantastic work rate. He has had no regrets in his career and i commend him for that. With the influence of a fellow countryman as his manager i can see him doing wonderful things at Citeh.

He is also a very big philanthropist. Just another string to add to his bow i suppose.

I think he's just misunderstood. I think this view that he is this bitter angry young man who causes controversy or a stir wherever he goes is greatly exaggerated. Obviously the incident on Sunday is still fresh in our minds and doesn't exactly help support this view, but i don't subscribe to the view he is all that bad.

He's not the only footballer to have had a run in with a fan, or a team mate (Riise) for that matter. And he's certainly not the only footballer to have problems with his national team documented.

Anyway i can certainly see with his personal and footballing history why he is a target for much abuse and hatred but i quite like him.

This is a very good point. I won't defend his list of felonies, as there isn't an excuse for them. I believe he is the victim of making one of two mistakes which has lead to the British Media jumping on his back and heavily critiquing him. As this metaphorical snowball builds up, every time he does something 'risque' or 'controversial' it gets grossly exaggerated based on personal history.

Just want to make it clear though that in no way am i defending the actions of Mr Bellamy, merely providing a base for discussion on the way he is treated or 'portrayed' by fans and sections of the media.

arrived at the city of manchester stadium last night 5 minutes into the game - about 30 seconds after Tevez scored to put us one down (although he apparently apologised to the West Ham fans - "Tevez loves us more than you").  The legend that is Carlton Cole scored a good equaliser but then Petrov (who always seems to play a blinder against us) scored a pretty soft free kick (free kick should never have been awarded and then Englands number one Rob Green should have saved it).  To make matters worse, what looked like a legimate second equaliser was disallowed - it was hard for me to make any comment as it was at the other end of the field, but I did receive a couple of text messages that said that it should have been allowed.

In the second half we played better although City always looked the most likely to score again, and did through Tevez.  I guess that 3-1 was probably a fair result.  The subs showed the difference in the squads, with City bringing on 18m player Santa-Claus, and us bringing on youth team graduates Junior Stanislas and Zavon Hines.  We are skint, and missing some pretty key players at the moment (Upson, Collison and the Swiss Beckham, Behrami) which is starting to make me nervous about where we are and how this season is going to pan out.

Bury finally scored a goal at home in the weekend, as they beat Lincoln 2-0.

FCUM have not disappeared they share the Bury ground and draw bigger crowds than their hosts. They have been promoted up to the Unibond Northern Premier league now (3 divisions below Bury).

I was born in Bury at Jerico Hospital so have a slight soft spot for them.  They have struggled at lot in recent years just surviving a relegation scare a couple of seasons back.

At one time they had links with Man City often taking failed apprentices from City as their new signings each summer....Colin Bell came from Bury I think.

Good result for Bury tonight - they beat Tranmere 2-1 in the JPT.  I was going to go along, but a) it was raining, b) I wasn't aware the game was on until about 4pm this afternoon, and c) I was getting haircut this evening.  Don't ever call me a fair-weather supporter.

After a 1-1 home draw Bury Town defeated Bedford Town 4-3 away in a replay and have been drawn away to Oxford City in the F.A Cup 4th qualifying round. So still a chance of a Bury v Bury tie.
Anyway..... what you watching this weekend?

probably no game this week.  Bury are away at Aldershot, and although West Ham are only down the road at Stoke, I am pretty sure that the away end is sold out.  One of the guys I work with is a Stoke City season ticket holder, so I was looking forward to getting to that game, but not to be.  After being away a bit over the last few weekends, I am actually looking forward to a weekend of pottering round the flat.  If I get really bored, I might head over to Wigan versus Man Citeh on Sunday, but to be honest I can't see it happening.

Bury are at home to Rotherham on Saturday so will probably head to that as long as it isn't snowing.  Off to Pink on Saturday night (2 up front, tight at the back, etc) then Sunday lying on the couch watching the bin dippers play the plastic mancs, followed by West Ham versus L'arse.  Fun times.  If I can be bothered getting out of bed in the middle of the night, might even try to see some of the Phoenix game online.

I am actaully a bit worried that Bury have been half decent in the month or so since I last saw them play, so hoping I don't jinx them.

Also forgot to mention that one of the Oldham Athletic players lives in the same apartment complex as me - I saw him in his tracksuit waiting to get picked up this morning.  They are down in Brighton this weekend, so obviously driving down today and then on the piss there tonight before the game tomorrow.  I might try and get to watch them at a home game soon - support the neighbours and all that.

Bury 2 Rotherham 1

great game.  Rotherham scored in injury time of a pretty dull first half straight from a corner (looked like a foul on the keeper).  Bury were great in the 2nd half - equalised 2 minutes into the half then missed a penalty and the rebound which was an open goal about 6 yards out.  It was never a penalty and tempers got a bit frazzeled on the pitch and in the stands when it was awarded.  Bury scored the winner with about 5 to go, although Rotherham had one cleared off the line (it was an amazing save by the defender ) in the last minute of injury time.  There was sunshine and then some rain, so excitement all round.

Off to Pink (go down in the box, 2 foot tackle, etc, etc) in a bit.
