Joey Barton spoke recently after being released from jail, here is what he had to say:

"The first day's the toughest, no doubt about it. They march you in, hand
you your uniform and force you to pose for the photographer while loads of
fat, tattooed, skinheads shout abuse at you. That's when you know it's for
real. A whole life blown away in the blink of an eye. Nothing left but all
the time in the world to think about it. That's when it hits home. That's
when you realise you've signed for Newcastle."

Three for me, and two for them.

I follow Newcastle in the PL... seeing as NZ doesnt televise Notts County games which is a crime to humanity.

From espnsoccernet;

"Joey Barton, who is due to face Football Association disciplinary chiefs next Friday after admitting a charge of violent conduct, could make a surprise return following James Milner's departure for Aston Villa and the news that Geremi has a knee ligament injury. Michael Owen could start with manager Kevin Keegan down to the bare bones with Obafemi Martins (groin), Mark Viduka (Achilles), Damien Duff (knee), Claudio Cacapa (hamstring) and Andy Carroll (heel) all sidelined."

Just watching the game live, they turn the camera on mike ashley just in time to see him chug a beer - in pretty good time too. What a legend.

Joey bartons a good player. Samir Nasri deserved what he got from keegan.
03 Sep 08:40 · edited 09 Sep 05:19
Pffft bollocks he did. Barton's a thug and a pathetic excuse for a professional football playing at the highest level. What sort of example does he set to kids with his thuggish behaviour? He basically rugby tackled Nasri then smirked as if to say 'take that you french c**t'. Nasri was right in getting him back.

Anyway have fun with Barton and Keegan, you won't win a thing with either.

Three for me, and two for them.

joey barton has more in common with tony veitch than a good football player. he is a thug.
03 Sep 10:54 · edited 09 Sep 05:19

Don't like Barton. Should have been kicked out of football long ago. On the other hand I don't remember Patrick Viera or Arsenal under George Graham being particularly great for the image of professional football at times either.

football will turn into a fags sport without players  like joey barton

03 Sep 20:04 · edited 09 Sep 05:19

football will turn into a sport where everyone lives in fear of suffering the same fate as eduardo if 'players' like barton get time of jail every weekend to go and play.

03 Sep 22:02 · edited 09 Sep 05:19
that tackle on eduardo wasnt bad, these things happen in football.A bad tackle is sprigs showing.
04 Sep 04:40 · edited 09 Sep 05:19

Sprigs showing, bad tackle. Anyone care to argue this?

Oh, and football would be so much better without thugs like Barton in the game.

Three for me, and two for them.

Nice trolling Daggers.

04 Sep 05:00 · edited 09 Sep 05:19
I'm sorry in advance for 'trolling' and such. Just having a little stroll over the threads and saw this below comment. While I also dispute what you are saying in general Daggers (Barton is a tool, Nasri got the yellow, which he deserved la la la), I'm not sure how you justify saying such a comment and what exactly is a fags sport ?

Daggers wrote:

Grow up and talk some sense. Saying something like that does not do your point any justice and is just stupid really. Not having thugs in football will make it for fags? I thought society was moving on with the slurs?
04 Sep 05:18 · edited 09 Sep 05:19
yeh sorry for the comment.. i just get pissed of with people coming on here n sl*ging him off for that tackle on nasri it wasnt even a bad tackle. If it was ne one else that did the tackle we wouldnt even be talking about this.He didnt get a yellow card for it.
04 Sep 05:29 · edited 09 Sep 05:19
Thats cool, I just don't see it as appropriate or needed at all. And we obviously have different views on the tackle, but it's all subjective right?  Anyway, yea Nasri got booked after play had stopped I think. I was rather drunk at the time so a few details slip the old mind.

This is from Wenger:

Wenger, perhaps predictably, chose not to embroil himself in the controversy. "I don't know why Keegan was so angry," he said. "Nasri clipped Barton and there was a little incident between, but he (Nasri) was booked and rightly so."

funny thing about this is he'll leave newcastle soon im betting (possibly jail related) and then you'll see him for what he really is.
