Europa league is still European football though, if your a team hoping to break into the champions league like spurs and man city then surely playing in the Europa league is ideal preparation. getting theï¿½ squad used to mid week games and traveling around Europe and what not. And at the end of the day its still a trophy and no team would turn their nose up at that.ï¿½

This is exactly right - plus, wins in Europa League bring coefficient points for the club, and those can help you big time if you do make it (back) into Champions League, because they give ou a better staring point at the draw (the more coefficient points you have, the higher the pot you're in when the seeded draw is done).

It can also have an impact on the number of spots in the Champions League the national association gets - the lackadaisical attitude to Europa League is precisely what's cost Italy one of its spots in the Champions League - from 2012/2013, Germany will have four teams in the Champions League, and Italy three.

If Chel$ki or Man Yoo (or Spurs) win the Champs League, then i believe the FA still has 4 spots for next years CL, because of course the CL Winners qualify automatically for the next season's comp.

My point is, Spurs could finish 5th and still qualify?

Or maybe the FA could hand that spot to the winner of the FA Cup!

No - the spots don't get handed down. The CL winner always has the right to defend its title, so if for example Chelsea won it but finished 5th, they would get in, but at the expense of the 4th placed team which would be transferred into Europa League.

So would really be a terrible scenario for Spurs.

Bloody hell, that was average. We haven't scored a goal in our last 4 games, i heard somone say that 54 players have scored more than Crouch/Defoe combined the Premier League.

But hey if you can hand on heart say there isn't much wrong with the Adebayor chant and live with it then fair play to you. I certainly won't agree though.

I don't condone such chants but what would have made this chant worse than what generally goes around all the other clubs, is that its specifically racist.
