So that's where our strikers were going wrong - they clearly need to only shoot from outside the box!! Now if our defence could also defend properly in the same game, we'd be sorted!! Seriously though, I think that's not a bad point - Utd, City and Chelski have all lost there this season (and we did last year).

Can't wait for Milan - good to see Bale back on the pitch today, hopefully VdV and him are both there for a glory night this week!!

VdV looks to start, Bale touch and go, Corluka also looking promising.

Big game tomorrow.  COYS!!

Announcement that we have have a 5yr Kit deal with Under Armour.

They currently look after Hanover 96 in the German league and the Welsh Rugby team (apparently)

Presumably we stick with the 80's retro look for another season or so (i.e shirt manufacturer changes but sponsor remains the same for the length of it's contract)?

Yep - you're bossing midfield. They work better as a pair than that all pants and no trousers Gattuso

A very nerve-wracking draw but good work to close down Milan mostly.

Roll on 18 March for the QF draw to be announced.

Don't think anyone had a bad game - only one major fluff by Gomes in the first half that resulted in the goal-line clearance by BAE.

Fantastic! How refreshingly un-Tottenham of us too!! Thought Sandro had his best game for us tonight, he's settling in well now...

Yep - Sandro did well in the middle.  Even JJ did alright!

Can't believe how quick Milan players were in closing down and challenging for the ball, while they seemed to be able to have a yard or two extra space to run or find someone to pass to.

well done lads, ugly but who cares, it was won in the first leg and it's a landmark night for tottenham

DanWad: there's no disputing billy's ability but I don't think arsene regrets that decision one bit. Gallas or Nasri had to go or the dressing room would be f*cked, Nasri was the obvious one to keep given his age and potential. We already ditched Toure when Gallas fell out with him, we couldn't do it again. But our loss is your gain, and it seems Harry is very good at keeping harmony in the dressing room, good fit for ole billy bob then.

Fair enough, on a footballing level I'd say he's something you're missing at the moment (esp with Vermaalen out for so long, when's he back?) but when you put it like that it's understandable. You're right though, it does seem to be our gain atm - to be honest I'm a little surprised how well he's done, and seems to fit in. Kudos to Harry...

I've been more than happy with djourou and koscielny as our first choice combo and i wouldnt put billy in ahead of them - he matches them on the ground for sure but his weakness has always been the air, djourou/koscielny are much better in that area - and we haven't seen the soft goals conceded by arsenal through the air this season that we've become used to in years gone by...

But with vermaelen out as you say, we've had squillaci playing a lot of games and there's no doubting that gallas is better than him, so i would have happily had gallas as our third choice CB!

As for vermaelen coming back, most of us gooners are resigned to not seeing him til next season - but wenger keeps saying he's on his way so who knows.

You guys have got a sh*tload of CBs on your books, I was surprised when gallas initially signed, but he's done well to get himself regular games and even the captaincy so good on him.

Also thought he would be nasty about us after he left so I've been happily surprised at his level of respect

i still dont like him

That's OK.  I don't like Cashley Cole either.

All our CB's are old and/or injured unfortunately..

Great win...

For somone whose team hasn't had the pleasure of playing in Europe lately, the thing that i really noticed this morning was the terrible quality of EVERYTHING about the ESPN coverage, the picture is rubbish, the audio is crap and the commentators terrible (esp the comments guy).

At half time I switched to the Everton v Brummies game (in HD) and it was like someone had taken the lens cap off.

Stunning difference between the  two channels...

Thats right, but at least ESPN show the games.

True

But how relevant is the km travelled by each player when they get subbed?

Maybe another useful stat could be how many step overs were attempted.

However, also from ESPN - I think someone posted this a while back but here it is again

Note this is from 2006/07.

Well true - but I was in Aussie last year and watched a Champs League game and great picture, UK commentators etc, so they obviously get a decent feed.
