Saw the England goal highlights on TV1 - Lennon really looked like he was the playmaker for 3 or 4 of them (Leo wears the same number).

scoreboard

BBC put it like this

Well that was an absolute belter of a match. Arsenal should have wrapped that up long before the end, though whether teams really require three-goal leads with less than a minute to go is a moot point. Gael Clichy will have nightmares about his headspin, but what a response by Tottenham: for all that Arsenal capitulated - and it was a pathetic capitulation - Jenas's goal was a gem, and Modric's shot against the post deserved to secure the draw. And that's without mentioning Bentley's wonder strike. Bloody hell, that was fantastic. I'll leave the last word to David Bendelman: "Bloody hell."

And I think the last scoreboard was 5-1 n'est pas?

Although I can't for the life of me remember the score at WHL, so perhaps I've erased that from my memory for good reason?

If you read the article it's only because his old man was a gooner. But it was Spurs who gave him the opportunity.

Hes not good enough to manage arsenal, that's the rationality of the matter.

More importantly, what a finish from defoe. cracking start in the scum vs scum game

Interesting comment from a UK Blog...

"I didn't think the Premier League had it in them, but the decision to issue player quotas is the most positive thing they have done in the years and the game is going to be better for it and will become more competitive as a result. There are few teams that are adequately prepared for such a change next season and some clubs will need to have some serious restructuring of their squads, in the next two windows, to accommodate to the new rulings.

Fortunately that won't be the case for Tottenham as Harry Redknapp has constructed a fantastic squad that ticks all the right boxes and is in keeping with the Premier League's policy. In fact one look at the team that played on Saturday against Manchester United and they had six players that will already count as home grown players, therefore meaning no real sacrifices to their squad will have to be made in order to accommodate the required quota of eight.

Another great aspect of this ruling is that the bigger clubs, with the bigger squads are going to have to cut down their numbers, meaning a lot of top names will have to be deemed surplus next summer. With the Premier League restricting the amount clubs can spend and it can only be in keeping with revenue generated, therefore the likes of Manchester City are not going to be able to spend big like they did this summer. Tottenham is one of the riches clubs in the country, in terms of revenue; therefore they will be more than able to hold their own the market and will subsequently be competitive in the transfer market.

I think these initiatives from the Premier League is a real positive step for football and suddenly it puts the power back in the hands of the clubs as players can no longer sit back on the bench knowing that they will be paid and realise that they now have to fight for a place in the chosen 25. The balance of the league is likely to change significantly and Tottenham will have to consider themselves one of those who will benefit from it the most and they can take advantage of the restructuring that is needed, especially at the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, where they'll have little option but to submit some of their youth teams in order to fulfil the quotas.

It is fair to suggest the push for a Champions League spot next season may have become a little easier for Spurs, should they not already bridge the gap this year."

If only the blogger checked his facts.
there is absolutely no checks on revenue to spending ratios under the new system.
The only finances they are interested in, is having enough cash to make your fixtures and pay your wage and dept obligations. where the money comes from is of no concern to them.

Jeez Drogba is good when he's up for it...he was sensational this morning. And Harry is right, once Ledders was off we weren't going to be able to contain him.

Not sure what we have done to Howard Webb, he seems to hate us for some reason. Man Yoo last year and Chelski today.

I think we outplayed them for the first 30mins and could have had 2 or 3 goals, but after that they bossed the game and deservedly won. In games away against teams like Chelski, if you get 2 or 3 chances early you need to take some of them.

Feeling nervous about our defence now. Apparantley King did his Hammy, Woodgate has a mystery injury that no-one can diagnose and won't be available for some time, Bassong went to hospital after being knocked out this morning. Dawson is coming right and is 'a chance' to play the next game, otherwise it's Tom and Corluka in the middle (ahhhhh)...

Here is something else to fire up all the Gooners who seem to spend a fair amount of time on the Spurs Forum (I can honestly say i have never looked at theirs, doesn't interest me, maybe i should start, drop a few comments here and there)...anyhow...

This is from Soccer Saturday (SKY UK)...

"Charlie Nicholas and Paul Merson banging on about how the boy Ade needs to be severely punished for his celebration and how it was ridiculous for him to run the full length of the pitch and slide in front of the away end. Then Stelling shows the clip of Henry doing it to Spurs and suddenly Nicholas/Merson get all sheepish and change their minds completely"

Match report says finger injury - shouldn't be a major. Keano, Crouch, hell's bells even Jenas getting one today. Defoe is the man but plenty of willing and able replacements (inc Pavy)

Looking at Muntari apparently.

Sulley Muntari's agent claims Tottenham are in talks with Inter Milan about signing the midfielder in the January transfer window.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a big fan of the Ghanaian, having signed him for Portsmouth from Udinese in the summer of 2007.

Muntari is no longer a first choice for Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho and the player's agent Frank Schreier now believes he could be heading to north London.

"The two clubs are still talking about this case," said Schreier. "It could happen."

Yeah. he's young though...only 20 and will cost alot to be what will essentially be a back up for Wilson.

At the back - Dawson and Woodgate were the central defensive pairing in a friendly last night, so yes hopefully we are starting to get more troops back now.

Now if only bloody defoe hadn't gone and stomped on  Moekana and subsequently rule himself out of the next 3 matches, including the NLD against the Woolwich Wanderers....
